Here's another question....do ALL of our TAs need this info, or does only one TA need it? Perhaps we can work something out with Dana? I agree with you, bj's mom, I feel an OCDattack coming on...just wait tul Dennis reads this, lol

I'm not sure how this works. I will email Dana and ask her.

Same here. I would'nt feel comfortable giving a ID number. I like the idea of seeing how we can make it work onboard. Perhaps it may be hard to get everyone together for the first night, with the settling in and unpacking, but maybe we could make arrangements to meet somewhere later or the next day. Or does the dining coordinator need to know right away?

I think this is something that needs to be done ASAP when you board the ship. I will try to get more information! I would really love for all of us to sit together, I think it would be so much fun.

I completely agree!!! Maybe it would be easier to set this up onboard....we can have a Dis dining meet, lol....

:wave2: ALL NIGHT sunshine & fine weather!!! Love this place!!! Took my nephew hiking & trout fishing yesterday but jetlag from Boston to Anchorage has knocked the kid out ~ he has been asleep for hours ~ or is that just a teenager thing? :confused3 No kids! This should be an interesting month!

Well, I can see that the late sitting thing is going at it. I suspected that table size would be restricted. Has to do with making sure that the waiters get equity in the number of clients and the "science" of serving dinner to thousands of people ...

Becky - what do you mean "just wait tul Dennis reads this, lol" :banana:
By my analysis, it looks like about 17 folks so far ... :grouphug:

SmilingMouse = 1
PowerAlaska = 2
B&J Mom = 4
Giles = 3?
Kb1esx = 7

Might I suggest trying to arrange the sitting at two or three tables in the same seating area or with the same "serving crew"? :grouphug: That way there may be some liberty to play "musical chairs"? :banana: Agree that this will probably need to be done "on-board" and passing out ID numbers is probably not the wise. {DIDI indicates David has "Yankee" characteristics} Since I booked through Disney Vacation Club, I will call try to call them tommorrow and see what they have to say about it. I suspect that it would take one representative from each group going to the Maitre D' to make the arrangements. Pretty sure that we will work this out. :grouphug:

Something that can be talked about at the Bon Voyage Party. :Pinkbounc Since Didi is the current Baton Holder, she just needs to tell everyone where to meet for the BVP party. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: My experience indicates that the deck overlooking the the family pool is a great place to be as the embarkation festivities begin... Good views of port as you pull away and Disney character festivities below... HOWEVER, Didi holds the baton :wizard: so she gets to pick the spot. :wizard: Just a suggestion ... :cool1:

Well... Off to try some float tube fishing today ... I work too hard!!!

David ~ :hourglass ~ ONLY 104 days left :earboy2: OBTW, I have updated the list ... Will post it later today ....

GREAT Day everyone...

Dennis :crazy:

god morning all :wave:

you can add our 4 to the late seating group. Keep in mind we'll have by then a 21mo DS so you might not want to actually share a table ;) he's still learning how to master his utensils

gilesfamily and b&jsmom: I finished the booklets and will send them tomorrow.

anyone still interested in the Mickey project, PM me for the link and I can send updated booklets to everyone who participates.

have a great day. :flower:

Good morning, all!

Dennis- It sounds like you are having a great time with your nephew. Is he staying the whole month? You guys are going to have so much fun! I am curious to see what the Disney Vacation Club people say about our dinner situation. I'm sure we will be able to get it worked out.

We are getting very close to double digits - YIPPEE!!!!! :sunny:

bpicard- Looks like we posted at exactly the same time!! We are so excited to get our booklets!! Thanks!!

Yea! Double digits, here we come.....So, it looks like we are going to request this onboard, right...

Where do we go to do this? Same place as Polo ressies?

I don't know where people make Palo resservations (unfortunately, never had the pleasure), but I think if you want to make dining changes you go the Dining Room Coordinator who is located in one of the lounges right after you get onboard. I guess we would just ask a CM there on the boat where to make dining changes. :goodvibes I am pretty sure we are going to want to do this as soon as we can because there are so many of us. Does this make sense? Am I missing something? :listen: Maybe Dennis will find something else out. I bet he's the kind of guy who has connections!! :3dglasses

Yep..there is 3 of us. Hubby, me and DD6.

bipicard..don’t worry about the 21 month old. My hubby hasn’t yet mastered utensils either. :rotfl2: The question is..can you all tolerate us red-neck Albertans, eh??

Can’t wait to receive the booklet. DD has been asking about it, so she will be really excited when it arrives. The other day I was doing up an itinerary and she decided to sit down beside me a write one out. She had two items: buy a Stitch animal and find a new friend! (particularly not in that order, I don’t think)

Someone will have to guide me on this dining thing closer to our sail date. We’ve never been on DCL before, so finding even our stateroom will be a challenge. :confused3 Are we going to have a special name for our group, so that if we all can’t make it there (to the dining coordinator) at the same time, there is something we can refer to? Cause if I go there and say…”err..I want to sit with SmilingMouse, PowerAlaska, B & J Mom, Kb1esx and bipicard, I think they will look at me rather strangely, or think I’ve already endulged too much in the speciality drink of the day. It’s going to hard enough to fit in being alien residents and all. :crazy:

Hi Everyone,

I think I just did the bump thing.... :Pinkbounc Boy, I sure did miss a lot. Did my reading, looks like I'm still the baton holder. :wizard: :teeth:

I'm not picky where we hold the bon voyage party as long as we all get together and enjoy the sight as our boat sails off.

I'm a late diner also, I would love it if we could all get tables together.

I'm looking forward to this cruise. :teeth:

I promise to bring Barnabas pictures (Maine Coon Cat), right now he is at the Vet's for a stay. He's been throwing up and his fluid levels are down. It will probably cost me about the same amout as the cruise..... :sad2: He's my baby :love:

My fingers a loose and limber for the pegging...and butt kicking cribbage game with those who want to lose baddly!!! pirate: :banana:

Wishing all a wonderfull evening. :grouphug:

I think it might be nice to name the group....anyone have any ideas (oh no, here comes another OCD attack, lol)?

GilesFamily - "red-neck Albertans"? I love it! That's my kind of family! :goodvibes My kids will be so exhausted by the late seating - who knows what kind of entertainment they may be for everyone. I apologize in advance! ;)

DiDi- I hope your kitty gets better soon. It's amazing how attached a person can get to a 4 footed friend. Do they know what's going on with him?

Smilingmouse - I don't have any ideas for a name, but I'm sure someone will come up with something great!! :teeth:

Hi All,

Lets throw some pixie dust Di & Bill's way... ~`~`~`~ (my version of pixie dust) :teeth:

Love you Barnie.. :love: Get well soon!!! :wizard:

David

bpicard....ugh... I forgot to send you my kids Mickey pages!(Bad mother!) Is it too late? I can try to scan and email them to you, or just snail mail them this week. Let me know.

Dennis- What was the final verdict on the job situation? Any news?

We are also at late dining, but really want to try to change to early. It seems like all the kids club evening activities centers around having early dining. I just don't know if my kids, especially the 2 year old can make it. Do you think that there is some big group at early dining? Seems like everybody here has late. I don't want to change to early and be in the middle of somebody's convention or something.

Check back in later, gotta get these kids to bed. Erin

erinc: no problem, scan and email and i'll get new booklets out to all the kids :) Happy to include your stuff.

Good morning all :sunny:

Good morning!

ErinC- I am kind of worried about my kids being exhausted by the late seating for dinner also. We had early last time and they were already tired. I guess we will either be eating at 8:30p.m. or watching a show at 8:30 p.m. Either way, they are probably going to be out of it where ever we are!! As far as the kids club activities go, my kids wouldn't even go there in the first place, :rolleyes: so I don't know about the things they do in there. I have heard of alot of people being able to change their dining to early when they board, so even if you are still listed as late when you get on, there is a good chance you can change it. I guess there could be some kind of big group at the early dinner seating, but I bet it's just regular families who booked this cruise a long, long time ago! :boat: :boat: :boat:

:banana: Float Tube Fishing today ~ I work too hard!!! :banana:

ErinC ~ Nope. Didn't get the job ... Oh well ~ On to the next interview.
DIDI ~ Pixit Dust ***** for Barnabas ***** ~ Love my pets ~

Spoke with Disney this morning. Here's the deal on Dinner Seating. NOT only is there the issue of late seating, there are three dining rooms that need to be coordinated. So we have to try and get everyone in the same place at the same time to pull this off. :rolleyes1 FORTUNATELY, DCL has NOT made these arrangements at this time. To do this, one must, of course hyperlink the data elements in the DCL dining room database. :badpc:

It requires the Last Name, Reservation#, and/or Booking# and # Seats.
It can be done through the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) who will work direct with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) to "link" reservations. So "Lateys" as opposed to "Earlys" and/or Uppities & Lowlies ... Need to synchronize all the numbers ... Please consider the issue. If you want to provide me with necessary data, I will make contact with DVC and try to pull this together. At last count, I think we were only talking 17 people? Two large tables and David over in the corner... :rotfl: No really ... Three tables in the general vicinity of one another??? Can use PM, eMail, or phone or whatever makes you comfortable and secure. I AM a very trustworthy sort and have a TS clearance. {Not really sure what that means to you :rotfl: } Your call. Please don't send anything yet. Just talk about it, think about it ... Let me know, we have a few days left to pull this together ... :grouphug: Will check back later to see what you think.

For now ... Rainbow Trout are waiting ... :Pinkbounc :banana: :Pinkbounc

SmilingMouse ~ So do we have a NAME yet? :grouphug:

Dennis :crazy:

Ok..I'll start.

Ok..Dennis, close your eyes and don't look as I'm not going to paint a nice picture.

If this can only be done in advance, and if we need to give Dennis our reservation number, and if Dennis is some kind of phycopath that likes to go around and convince people to give their personal information to him (sorry, Dennis...bear with me..I DO have a point), what would he be able to do with it anyways? Maybe I'm naive here, but even if someone had our res number, would'nt they also have to have ID to prove it, so Dennis, playing the phycopath family-trip stealer (just play along, Dennis..), what would he be able to do with the ressie? Even to access your ressie online on the cruiseline web site, you also have to input your birthdate as well to get your ressie to come up and we don't need to share that information.

Maybe I'm missing something vitally importantly here.

p.s. Love ya, Dennis!
