Happy Friday

Giles Family: Sooo Sorry about your DD :guilty: My DD's are VERY accident prone. Don't feel the working mom's guilt. I'm sure you couldn't have stopped it from happening, I feel your pain my mom and dad took DD's for their first swim lessons when they were little because I was working full time at the time. We do what we have to do..... :grouphug:
I got my passporter earlier this week.......LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

bpicard9: You are TOO organized. I can't believe how fast you whipped that project out....Thanks a bunch Perhaps mickey will enjoy a soccer game tomorrow :rotfl:

Dennis: OHHH to be in your shoes!!!! I LOVE the HOT weather......we're barely hitting the 70* mark. My hands are having trouble typing because they are sooo cold this am.........Vegas is looking better and better :cool1: .
Thinking of seeing "O" this year haven't heard much about Mama Mia...will look into it. Dh wants to see Dennis Miller too, I'd rather see Jerry Sienfeld (dh doesn't care for him.....I don't get it either). Its his B-day so you can imagine who is going to win that one :teeth: .

ErinC: I noticed your post on the other board about stingray city. Who are you thinking of booking with??? We decided on Captain Marvins...everyone seems to love them. We went with the "3hr tour" @10am, Stingray city and 2 snorkeling stops......reminicent of "gilligans Island". DD's Loved snorkeling last time the extra stop was only $12 for our whole family. I don't know how they are going to react to the stingrays but I'm sure it will be a blast. I decided to get our own snorkel equipment this time to take with us. DD's like to use the mask just for regular swimming.

Well I'm off to work,
Have a great weekend everyone,
kim

Kcatoir and erinc or whoever else is interested in Capt. Marvin's adventure. We are currently scheduled for the 11:15 a.m. two hour excursion with them. Maybe we should organize this a little better and get together as a DIS group on a Capt. Marvin excursion together. I would be willing to switch to an earlier excursion and to the three hour if anyone is interested in boating together. It could be fun. We have two ladies, and DS5, DD8, DD9 that will be on this excursion. Let me know if anyone is interested about DISing it. :cool1: I can't remember how many they have on a boat at once. Anyone know the answer to that? As much as you all plan, surely someone knows the answer to that! :rotfl:

TXDISNEYFAN- Please come back. My son is still searching for a chat buddy and I remember you have a DS10. He is a DS10. Maybe I will have to hook my son up with some of the DDs for chatting.

We took our flat Mickey project to the tour of the Royals baseball stadium today. We also took him bowling. He is getting a lot of action. We are having fun with him. I hope the pictures turn out with him in it. I don't know how photogenic he is. :rotfl: BPICARD9- How do we send these pics to you? Do you want us to have them mounted on paper? Or in a scapbook? I'm a little confused on that part. My kids love this idea. Everyone asks them why they are taking a picture with a colored mickey mouse. It gives us a chance to chatter about our cruise and we love it.

Have a great night. Deanna

cujobugs: your welcome to Capt marvins with us, we are scheduled on the 10am 3hour trip. Myself, DH and DD's 9 @ 11 (next week). I'm sure DD's would love to have more DD's there. Everyone elso is also welcome.. We choose the earlier just in case.....wouldn't want to miss the boat :rotfl:
Don't know if DD11 will email chatt with your DS but I will ask......She has a lot of guy friends (luckely is not interested in "boys" yet).

Dennis: You will be happy to know ErinC is actively recruiting for our thread on the main board.....I know of at least one other Dis'er she invited to "come to the dark side" :rotfl:

have a great weekend

glad the kids are having fun :)

If the pics are digital, email or post them to the board's DIS Photo Gallery

The picture must be stored on the internet first. You don't have to design a website, just upload your photo to a site. We have a free photo storage site right here on the DIS.

The DIS Photo Gallery http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/index.php

You'll log in there using the same name and password you use on the DIS. After you log in, click on the upload photos button and follow the instructions.

If they're not, go ahead and just snail mail them to me with a little description either on the back or in a note. I'll scan them and then send them back with their books so that you can keep the originals.

Hope this works for everybody.

kcatoir- yes I've been doing my best to help GilesFamily out, by trying to find someone to take the party baton!! :teeth: I figure with her jet lag, she might sleep through the cruise meet! Hopefully she'll wake up in time for the safety drill!! :rotfl: It seems that those that I've invited have not taken me up on the offer to come and introduce themselves. Maybe they took one look at this thread and got scared off. In all seriousness, some people might not want to be "friends" with others on the cruise. They might just want some "alone" family time. So far I'm really having fun getting introduced to all of you. My kids are really excited about the Mickey project, and having "email pals". I probably should of asked before we started emailing each other, and sharing our childrens' pictures with each other...... none of you are ax murders or pedophiles are you?? :rotfl: :rotfl2: ;) I don't want to see any of you on America's most wanted the next time I watch! :teeth:

Giles Family- so sorry about your daughters accident. Don't we always feel guilty about everything that happens to them? Don't blame yourself. I am a SAHM but totally understand that others need or want to work, it is in no way your fault. By the way, I was appauled by your post about your DD school's assistants response to her missing school. Things are getting more difficult here in the US due to "No child left behind." I'm hoping I won't be summons to court over the girls missing the week for our cruise. I know the principal won't be as bad as yours though!

To all those who asked about the StingRay stuff. I've been doing a bunch of research on the subject. At first I totally ruled it out because of having young kids and the cost. I thought it was a lot more expensive than it is, so now I'm reconsidering the whole thing. I just am not sure how my kids will react. Anyway, I really wanted to tour the island and see the touristy(is that a word) stuff too. So this is the tour I'm considering.

http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/shiptours.html

...its the stingray and island tour. That way we could kind of see a little of everything. The price is certainly right. I emailed the company to ask a few questions about children's pricing, and if we would be charged if the ship doesn't make the stop due to the the weather or something. I also wanted to know what time the tour is. If anyone else is interested, I'll let you know when I get a response. Nativeway, seems to have good reviews on the cruise critic boards and I found some pictures of the tour from Zydecocruiser over at cruisecritic. About the first 50 or so pictures is of Nativeway....

Well, I really need to get something done today, besides posting on the boards. DD8 (three days from nine) has a Girl scout field trip and I have some serious Birthday party stuff to finish up today. Have a great day everybody! Erin

:sunny: HOT Again today ... :sunny:

Wow - Once you guys started to talk, you really got "chatty". :earboy2: That's great... I can still not help but wonder if there is not some "special" group on board this cruise ... :confused3 Remember the discussion of cancellations & such way back when??? Will be interesting. If no one else wants to join the Uppity-Lowlies ... well ... their loss.

My time here in El Paso is, at best, good for the heart. Between time with Chrystina  and many exercise miles, my first week of "retirement practice" has been at least tolerable. Get to go to Phoenix for the Memorial Day weekend (More In-Laws ~ Shudder!). Headed out to look for a vehicle this weekend ~~~ Hmm Lexus or Volkswagen? Recommendations anyone?

Will check back later ...

Dennis

ErinC: The closest thing I have to an axe is this darn baton I’ve had to hold since joining. Then again, if I did have an axe maybe I could hack up this forest called my front lawn.

Yes, I was quite surprised at the school’s reaction too about pulling Chantel out for a week. This is a new school she is going to, so I haven’t met her new teacher, but hopefully the teacher won’t have just a negative attitude. *shrug* But apparently, the teachers are NOT allowed to give any work. I was thinking I may go out to a teacher’s store and buy some Grade two curriculum work. I’m not too overly concerned, because Chantel is currently in a private school, and she is WAY advanced, due to their great staff/student ratio and individual attention. There are eight students in her Grade One class…yes, eight! The worst scenario would be that if they give her a hard time after getting back to school, I”ll just pull her out and put her back in the private school.

Just finished reading the shore excursion reviews in the Passporter. I’m really having a hard time figuring out what we are going to do for excursions! The thing is..I like the touristy stuff and Darren and Chantel like the fish and swimming stuff. I think they would like to see the Stingrays, but the idea of some slimy wet thing swimming around my legs would give me the “heeby-jeebies!” (I’m a wimp) And they would probably love to do the snorkelling thing too, but I don’t swim. Me..just a stick-in-the-mud! The shore excursions I did have planned got a very “average” rating in the Passporter, so I’m trying to re-think it all.

Chantel’s mouth is all better now. However, she lost ANOTHER tooth. This was two in a week…and that darn tooth fairy is getting expensive! I don’t think that second tooth was quite ready to fall out, but that little incident with kissing the pool wall gave it a little help.

We’ve started on the Project Mickey this morning! I’m not sure if she is doing it quite right, but I think that’s why it will be so interesting. Each project will be unique! We don’t lead a very exciting life though, but I’m sure we can find a few things to introduce Capt. Mickey too! Chantel can’t wait to see the other kid’s projects!

Dennis, I know what you mean about wondering if there is some special group on our cruise. I haven’t ventured into any other cruise meet forums. Do they usually find lots of cruise-mates?

Happy Saturday Evening Everyone!!

Dennis you can't really be suprised were chatty can you??? WE'RE WOMEN!!! :rotfl: My DH just rolles his eyes when me and my girlfriends get together  Just call us chatty cathy :grouphug:
Can't help ya with the car issue.....have a thing for Toyota's myself!

Giles family: That's terrible your school would "harass" you. We haven't had too much trouble in the past, (other than a horrible teacher). But I am nervous this time, this is DD11's first year in Middle school (grade 6) new school, new teachers.....may be our last trip during the school year. Don't you LOVE your passporter??? :cool1: Good luck on deciding what trips to do.

I am trying to get DD's interested in the Captain Mickey, but they aren't real keen in the idea......maybe its because they are a bit older than all the other kids :confused3

Cujobugs: I mentioned emailing, and getting to know some of the other kids to my DD11, she isnt' ready right now. I wouldn't call her shy but she needs to meet people and get warmed up to them, she is definately a "live and in person" Person. To many unknown's over the internet. I will bring it up again after everything settles down after her B-day and school is out.

ErinC: All you can do is invite people......perhaps they are "lurking" out there right now....Good luck on your plans too.....

Anyone else doing Paradise Beach in Cozumel?? I've heard great things about it, we plan a beach bum day that day......and shopping of course

Good night all,
kim

Kim- we are only going to do Paradise Beach if we have time after our dolphin swim at Chankanaab Park. So if we arrive, it would be late afternoon. It looks really fun from the DC advertisements. My kids would love that rock climbing thing in the water.

I will work on uploading the pics of flat mickey.

Still thinking about the stingray excursions. You guys have so many ideas it is hard to ever decide the best one. I want to check out the website of the other place you mentioned. I'll work on that too.

I guess I have lots of homework to do (flat mickey and stingray) so I better go. Have a nice night.

Deanna :cool1:

:sunny: Well, Triple Digits again today. Suprisingly, I already kinda like it. Although, I must admit, it gets warm on the golf course. :cool1:

We had fallen to the Second Page? :confused3 Can't let that happen again!

My exciting adventures for today include the dentist (broken tooth) and the neurosurgeon (Gawd - I hate getting old!!!) Physically, it's a bear. Mentally, well ... I am kinda slow there  Still about 15 or so ... Also will be planting ice plants. How exactly does a desert plant get named an "ice plant"? Being the OCD type that I am, I will have to find that one out...

About Stingray Tour ... Have only done it once but I LOVED it. Just one of those "once in a lifetime" things ya gotta do ...

Well off to the dentist :sad2: ... JOY!!!

Dennis

Hello, all! Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a busy one, Capt. Mickey went on alot of adventures!

Dennis- Hope you had a swell time at the dentist and neurosurgeon! What a crazy day for you! Ick! I hope all went well.

I went on the stingray excursion with my husband several years ago. It was amazing! We had alot of fun, but I was nervous at first. Right now, I don't think I could get my daughter to go in the water, I wish she would. I would love go again. We will probably go to Paradise Beach, especially if we don't end up doing the Dolphin Encounter. I have some planning to do!

Bye! :3dglasses

:cool1: Well, In spite of my life of debauchery & degradation, it appears that I am going to live!!! The good news is I did it all to myself!!! :rotfl: Really good news is physical therapy rather than surgery!!! Like THEY had a choice about that!

Well temps are above 100 again and I have been roaming around looking at vehicles ~ Is it my imagination or do all the models look alike? :confused3 Will eventually wait for Chrystina  to make up my mind. :rolleyes1

Will be working on setting up the wireless network this afternoon, so, hopefully, I will be able to give an up to date countdown report later today.

So, until later ..

Dennis

Dennis,

I'm glad you are feeling alright!!! The weather here in MN is finally above 50...without rain..WWWOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOOO I'm sure it won't stay this way, but....

:sunny: YO Everyone!!! :sunny:

Another fine day here in the great Southwest! Have had my morninig constitutional and can look forward to a day of quiet reading. Practice for the deck chairs. :rotfl: Read, Nap, Pool, ~ Do it all over again!
Cruising is such hard work! They make you get up and dress to eat! Perhaps we need to speak to someone about that... Just have meals delivered to your deck chair? And have the crew do your exercise for you?

Well, have to pack my bags again .. Off to Buckeye, AZ for the Memorial Day Weekend. In-Laws :rolleyes1 Fortunately, I like this sister... :teeth:

Have a safe & happy hoilday everyone...

Dennis

Wow! I sure did spend a lot of time catching up since my last visit to the thread. It's such a busy time of year, getting school projects finished, dance recitals, field trips, field days, parties, etc. Can't wait until school is out so we can relax and spend our summer dreaming of the cruise.

Glad to see we're rapidly approaching the double digits...soon it will be time to make those advance ressies. Am I correct that the cruise must be paid in full in order to take advantage of that great service? If so, I better get with my TA to give her my CC (that's credit card - not Castaway Cay :goodvibes )

fourfoxes- It's good to hear from you again! Yes, you have to be fully paid to do the online ressies. From there, I can't remember the exact days out until you can reserve. I think (not 100% sure) 90 days out for Castaway Club, 75 for 1st time cruisers. Is this right? I can't remember.

I got my Passporter book in the mail the other day. It has some great information in it. I also bought my travel insurance today. It has been an eventful day ;)

Hope everyone is doing well.

WOO-HOO! I just got our Southwest DING from PHL for $65 each way. All booked and ready to go! Wasn't thrilled with the time we're leaving MCO to come home but for less than $150 pp, I'll sit in the airport for a couple of hours!

Now, on to the hotel ressie. Priceline here I come!
