bpicard - Congratulations Mouseketeer!!!

Deanna - I suffer from AITP (Ants in the Pants). Actually, I am pretty much a homebody kind of guy - when I stay home. :confused3

Julie - Yes, Life treats me well ... but I try to maintain a positive viewpoint. You guys have to remember, NO KIDS (except me), I can pretty much choose what I want to do. No PTA, no soccer practice, no ballet, etc etc ...
Chrystina  and I spent a few years doing foster care but some events ripped my heart out. More so than I could handle. Truly, I suspect that everyone of you are far busier than I most of the time... I am basically lazy so I try to work smart. Hard work is for other people. :rolleyes1

Okay Barney's Brood - So we passed the 1000 milestone mark, scared off Peggy?, have an OFFICIAL BVP Baton Holder :wizard: (YEA DIDI), have linked Latelies Dinner Reservations, assigned deck chair inventory to Larry, scheduled a Pub Crawl (with singing entertainment  ), cribbage tournament, morning exercise schedules, and I need to go collect a bucket of Moose Nuggets for CujoBugs... :grouphug: What shall we do next? :confused3 :rotfl: :confused3

Anyone for a BOW Diving Competition? ...

Have a great day!!! OBTW ~ Fantastic Four is okay but not fantastic.

Giles - Just for you :hourglass

Morning All,

Anybody else in harms way from Dennis besides ErinC? It looks like ErinC is lined up for a direct hit. Hang in there ErinC's family. Our thoughts are with you. And some pixie dust too... :wizard:

Good luck to everyone in the south & gulf coast!!

Got your PM, cujobugs. Thanks! I thought for sure I had counted down 75 days as Sunday. Had to go back through the posting and find Dennis' last countdown. Duh. *shrug* My hubby always says I'm early for things. Thank goodness I checked back on the board before it got TOO late. Now how I'm I going to sleep with all this coffee in me! :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone getting their ressies later tonight/early tomorrow. It wasn't until 3:00 a.m. that I could make mine, and we're on Eastern time.

Erin - hang tight and we're thinking of you as we're watching Dennis the Menace.

Someone had asked about Palo...we decided to go on Tuesday (Grand Cayman) night. Since we have to be off the island by 4:30 or so, we figured we'd have plenty of time to get all "fussed" up. It's the 4th night of the cruise, so we won't miss the "shows" at the 3 restaurants. We'll feed the kids at the buffet or Pluto's, take them to the "early" show and then drop them off at the club for our 7:30 ressie. Will be so nice to have a "real date" with DH!

Bridge Tour sounds very interesting. Are tix available from Day 1 at the Customer Service Counter? Would it be interesting for kids?

Yes, the bridge tour does sound neat. But didn't I read somewhere that they only have tours when the ship is in port? If that is the case I will always be off the ship exploring. For some reason I thought I had also read it was an adult only tour. But maybe that is only for the kitchen tour. I'm not sure. You will have to asked a seasoned veteran.
:earsboy:
Another question about the excursions and booking them online tonight......how exactly is payment completed? Do you have to put down a deposit to hold them? There are a few excursions that I'm not sure if we will take, but would like to reserve them just in case. Will I be penalized financially for that? Or no penalty if I cancel a few days in advance. Please advise. :confused3 Also, did anyone know my question about the disney cruise site. Does it help when making reservations if you already have them in your wish list? Does it make the process faster?
Dennis- My sister has also done the foster care thing. She also had her heart broken. You are a wonderful person for doing it though. There are so many kids in need.

I will have a million more questions before 2 a.m. tonight about excursions. Sorry.

ErinC- still thinking of ya! Deanna

I received one of my answers about excursions from a thread I started on the main board. Here was their answer.
"excursions are charged to your KTTW card. you have until 2 days before your cruise starts to cancel excursions at no charge to you."
Just a little information for those of you booking tonight.
Deanna

Deanna - In making reservations, I found the Wish List very helpful. Reviewed all the options and then used the filter to limit the contenders. Then I just clicked each one individually as I made my "final" decision. As far as payment is concerned, when you check in, they will want a credit card # for on-board (wines, stores, drinks, etc) {NO $$$ on a cruise ship}. After they are done they tally up the damage ... LAST day sticker shock!!! :rotfl:
Anyhow, I did not see any cancellation penalties or such ... I am sure that you are not the only one who will reserve some excursions "just to be safe". Just be sure to cancel the ones that you don't want before you provide any financial data (Credit Card #). Hope that helps.

Dennis

FourFoxes...I'm not sure if kids are allowed to do tthe bridge tours?? I've never done one, my parents went in Jam. and they enjoyed it

Dennis KTTW= Key to the World Card aka room key (don't ya love Disney speak)

I'm off to play cribbage again....did some backgammon practicing last night :)

I was checking to see if Erin had been back on since last night. I have been wondering about her. I hope they are doing well.

Dennis - I wondered about the Fantastic Four, thanks for thoughts on it. Clint and I actually went on a DATE on Friday night! Amazing! We went after dinner we went to see Cinderella Man. It was pretty good. I loved Million Dollar Baby, though. I never thought I would be one to watch and enjoy boxing movies!! :3dglasses By the way, I think it's wonderful that you did foster care, what a selfless thing to do, but I can see where it would heartbreaking.

Regarding the charging the the KTTW card, sticker "shock" is putting it mildly. I was nearly in cardiac arrest! I don't really regret anything I bought though. Our biggest problem was resisting the pictures they took. Those add up so quickly. But who could pass up a picture of your daugher all spiffed up in a princess dress posing with Cinderella...and Snow White...and Alice in Wonderland...and Stitch...and Belle...and Chip and Dale...and Mulan...then there are the various ones with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Max (who the heck is Max?) the great outdoor pictures of the kids at Castaway Cay. Anyway, that was our problem.

All ~ Thanks for the KTTW explanation ~ DUH!!!

Julie - Max is Goofy's son. See, that I knew!!! Million Dollar Baby was GREAT! Have not seen Cinderella Man. Have seen ALL Disney movies (of course)

On the subject of Sticker Shock ~ Yes, those pictures are hard to resist sometimes, BUT the $$$ is outrageous. The profit margin must be staggering! Wines, Shirts, and all the other stuff ~~~ Well, that's just vacation $$$!!! Chrystina  and I are pretty use to it by now - Not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing - Just NUMB??? :confused3 I have noticed that we keep going back!!! :rotfl2:

ErinC ~~~ PIXIE Dust & Prayers ~~~ wherever you are... :sunny:

Fourfoxes - Since you started this thread and we are now over 1000, I think you deserve a round of applause ~~~ :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc And, of course, a bag of Moose Nuggets!!!

Well, time to wake up the "rented kid" ~ Almost 0800. How do kids sleep that long? Not sure that I ever did...

Dennis

Hi All, just checking in. So far, so good, although it looks like we have 3 or 4 hours until the "big" winds arrive. Dennis took a short northern turn for a few minutes early this morning and that may save us. Very bad for the Pensacola and Ft. Walton folks though. I still think we are staying at our house in Fairhope(since Dennis asked). We have several neighbors that are still here too.
Deanna: our house is in a subdivision that was built on old farm land, so we don't have too many trees to be concerned with. We had a small maple in the front yard that Hurricane Ivan took care of last Sept. We have a small oak (about 3 years old) in the back yard that I hope survives. If it goes, we will be treeless. :sad2: But the wind does howl out here with nothing to break it up.

I know that the rest of you are excited about getting those reservations. Hopefully, the website will cooperate and you won't have to stay up as late as the rest of us did!

I'll keep ya'll updated as long as possible. If you don't hear from me, you'll know that the power has gone out. Lets pray for Sunshine in September! :sunny:

ErinC: Sending you sunshine and calm winds :sunny: :goodvibes
Glad to not have to worry about that out her in the West. Did grow up in SD so earthquakes were common.

Dennis: thanks for linking our reservation. :cheer2: Great picture dennis, brings back memories :crazy2: DF flew cesna's when I was growing up......turn that key and pass the barf bag......DM found dramamine really useful :rotfl: Kudo's to you for Fostering, I couldn't do it.....too heart renching.
Thanks for the info on Fantastic four.....DD's driving me crazy.....maybe we will make that a Daddy/Daughter Date Movie :goodvibes

Does anyone know for sure if the Kitchin tour is Adult Only?? I think DD11 would really like that. Supprised Bridge tour is Adult Only, I bet a lot o kids would really like it :confused3

I'm hoping to lessen the sticker shock of that KTTW card bill, by planning ahead and budgeting expenses, but its still a shock :earseek: Got to watch those fu-fu drinks and smoothies for the DD's.....they love the chocolate.

Luckely DD's have been saving allowance for the past Year so they both have a good chunck of spending money for their own souviners...

Hi All,

I'm ready to make those excursions happen. David told me that I won't be able to do it until 3AM....I'll wait til 5AM my normal waking hour. David also set me up so I can play cribbage on the Internet Zone.MSN.com? Anyways, my name is DiDi-Barney if anyone wants to play out there? Check out the bottom of this post, I have a counter now, due to my wonderful BIL David . He's the best.

Becky, I never said anything about crushing you in cribbage...but if you want to help me destroy Dennis you can be on my team any time!!! :goodvibes pirate:

Erin, I hope you're still hanging in there. I dislike hurricane season. Stay safe!!

Dennis, since I am with David and crowd am I hooked up with the Dinner rotation. I asked David if he provide you my reservation number. Do you need that from me? Sorry if I seem clueless here, but I'm not a computer wizzard like my DH and BIL. I have a special technique when I can't figure out something on the compter..it's like this :badpc: . I do the same to other appliances if they don't work for me. :rotfl:

Fourfoxes congrats on the Moose Nuggets, better you than me!! :rotfl2:

Signing off now. Have a wonderul night all. :wave2:

I did a search on the main thread about the bridge tour. The following is what one of the ladies said. This should answer some of our questions.

"There is no age limit on the tour, DS 5 and DD 3 both went on the tour. Of course it was a bit long for them, but my son really thought it was cool.

And yes it only occurs on days in port."

Deanna

I also did a search on the main threads about the galley tour. Apparently this is the one that children are not allowed. Here is a quote from someone on the main board.
"No, it is for adults only. Over 18. You just pick up the tickets at GS."

Deanna

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, been at DNephew's birthday all day.

DD5 and DS9mo went on Bridge Tour. They were a bit bored, but loved the view from up there. We took it when we were in St. Thomas after the tram excursion. I have a pic of the maps and the Captains' chair. I know kinda geeky, but DH and I thought it was pretty cool especially since they had all the hurricane Jeanne maps around.

take care

ErinC - hope you're well

Well, it's pretty much over for us! Yeah! Thank goodness, we really didn't have much of the bad weather compared to others around us. It rained heavily, and the wind blew, but we really got lucky. My parents lost a large oak tree, luckily it fell into the empty lot next to them and not on their house! I think the tree had been loosened by Ivan, because some of the roots were showing in their front yard.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and prayers! You guys are so sweet! Well, I'm going to bed early. I didn't sleep too well last night, with the storm, and DD2 has had fever for a couple of days. She was seeing "kitty cats" in our bed last night! She told my mother that they were blue kitty cats! I guess we'll be off to the doctor in the morning! Thanks again for all your kind words.

Good luck to all those making reservations tonight, I wish I could stay up with you, but I'm just not going to make it! Got to get some sleep!

Erin - I am so happy you guys didn't have any major trouble. Thank goodness, what a relief. I hope your daughter is ok. I know those high fevers are so scary. Again, I am so happy things are ok there in Alabama!

The bridge tour sounds fun! I will have to remember this on the boat when we get on.

ErinC ~ Glad to hear that you made it okay! :sunny:

Bridge Tours ~ Well, in this day & age, if you were the Captain of a Cruise Ship, would you want to deal with the security necessary for a tour when not in port? Ever seen Speed2? :rolleyes1

CujoBugs ~ Do they feed you on the Galley Tour? Might be that I could use a snack between meals. :cool1:

DIDI/Becky - So you guys are willing to settle for a tie? As long as I don't win? :confused3

DIDI - Went and got an "very extra special BVP Baton Holder Alaska gift" today. :teeth: BIL David provided all that I needed. You should be able to see the links when you go to register kids for activities.

Well, not much else up here in the frozen north except the continuing heat wave - Over 70 again today... Boy will I miss this come Wednesday :earboy2:

Keep an eye on EMILY

Good Night

Dennis
