Hey Dennis! Hi Chrystina!

Going to the parks today? Or is today your lunch meet at the fireplace? Whatever you do, have a great time. We'll see you tomorrow! Only 4 hours until I leave. Or, 240 minutes. Oh, my....I better seal up these bags!

Enjoy your day!

To everyone still here, magical :wizard: travels on your way to Mickey's Boat. See you tomorrow for some frozen "D"rinkies! :drinking1 :drinking:

Bye... :wave2:
Jamie, Brian, Spencer & Meredith

Hi All - yep - elf still here! Our flight leaves at 7:50AM on Sat! It's direct so we should be in Orlando by 10AM. Then a 1 hr trip by bus to port! Yipee!!!

Power Alaska - To catch you up - Julie checked to make sure our dinner reser where for early seating and/or to get herself on the early rotation and they told her that EVERYONE was linked together and put for early seating. She was very concerned. It's clear to me that this was not her fault but just what the big wigs at Disney decided to do. From what a few of us could remember you were the only one we recalled really wanting a late seating. Glad to hear your flexible, but sorry to hear it's effecting your Coz plans. I'm sure if it's a problem you can change back when you embark.
As far as getting the last post - I guess if you really try you will - lap top in hand! I probably won't post past late tonight so :guilty: ... you may be a winner! :goodvibes

Jamie - I think I missed you - sorry! :confused3 Yes, we were the small group that wanted early seating. Yes, I believe we asked for APL rotation. That would mean AP for Sat night. PC for Sun (but that's a good night to switch to dining at Palo; which is what I'm doing) and then Tues for Lumineres. That would put us at L's for semi formal night and yes PC for pirate night. I think it's the best rotation - but - we'll see if that's what we get. If I don't - I think I'd want to get changed; but I'll see!

Safe travels to all... see ya Sat! :grouphug:

Elf out!

Well it looks like I get the "turn out the lights" award for being the last to leave (along with Season)... :teeth:

Here's hoping that everyone who's left already had a safe trip, and that those of us who are in transit/still to leave have one as well.

Also, here's hoping Rita goes easier on the coast than her sister did.

Welcome back, everyone~

I promised I would post after the cruise. So here I am. It was so great meeting everyone!

Deanna

Hi Everyone,

I hope your journeys home were all safe and enjoyable. :goodvibes

We never did a cruise before. It was really great, but one of the coolest things was to already have the beginnings of some friendships as we began the week. I wish we had time enough during a week to get to know the whole group.

Half way through the week (Wednesday after a visit to the Tulum ruins) we received the news that my dad had died. :sad1: We remained quiet about it to keep from ruining our son's vacation. Dad was part of the "greatest generation" that Tom Brokaw wrote about. The world is a little bit poorer without him, but heaven is hosting a joyful reunion for him right now. :grouphug:

Well, I'm out of steam. It's time to get some sleep.

Deanna ~ I let Didi know you beat her in the effort to post after the cruise. You guessed it, she's asleep. :teeth:

Bill

Just walked in the door and I wanted to give a quick post.

I enjoyed meeting all of you. What a fun trip our family had, it was so much better than our first one and it has to do with meeting you all and visiting with all of you throughout the trip. I loved it! You guys are so fun - just like I knew you would be. And hey, dinner turned out to be great after all - what was I so worried about?!?!?!?!?

Bill - I am so sorry to hear about your father. You will be in our thoughts. :grouphug:

Hope everyone arrived safely and all are enjoying their super-hot Kino sandals! Can I get a Woo-Hoo?

Woo- hoo on the sandals. Thanks for the tip, Julie. And welcome home!

Wow! Bill and Didi- our thoughts and prayers go out to you! I'm sure that was such hard news to be faced with! Did they delay the funeral for you? Oh goodness. You are amazing people to keep going and have a smile on your face!

By the way, tell Didi that I'm pretty sure I beat her home. Tee hee.

Deanna

David---

I'm very sory for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers....

Well, I'm back, and, finally, off to bed.

Night all.

Good Morning to all. :sunny:

Deanna oh my, you beat me again. :teeth: I was to tired last night to post. I had everything unpacked and into bed real early. I actually made it many nights to 12PM and 1AM one night. My system is shot, I actually slept in til 6:30AM. :goodvibes

A big WOO-HOO on the sandals. Julie, what an awesome excursion!!! My feet thank you. :goodvibes :teeth:

Okay, the new coffee cup is in my hands, (a pic of Mickey and Minnie on the beach at Castaway Cay) the coffee is Jamacian Blue Mountain. Yup, purchased in Grand Caymen. Kim is your husband drinking his yet or is he saving his for a special moment?

Thank you all for making our first trip so special. :grouphug: I wish I could tranport all of you to NEW ENGLAND so that we could be neighbors. Please come and visit us. I promise to serve you great coffee. :sunny:

By the way I saw DH's post, yup, we lost his Dad. I'm not sure if Ingrid will post soon, but she also lost her brother on this trip too. The same day we lost dad. Please keep her in your prayers.

Erin, keep a nice shine to that ring now..... ;)

Larry give your beautiful wife another hug for me.

Dennis and Chrystina, :grouphug: Okay so now, I'm a bit teary eyed. Where is the kleenex....... I'm missing you all.

DENNIS IS THE KING OF CRIBBAGE. :worship: :worship: I did not lose gracefully. :rotfl2: I think Dennis is sporting some bruises on his shins. :rotfl:

Even though the cruise is over, I do hope that this will be a new chapter of keeping our friendships alive.

Time for my second cup of coffee. :cloud9:

DiDi :wizard:

Bill and Ingrid you and your loved ones are in our prayers :grouphug:

Well the washing machine's on it's second load and I'm heading for the coffee. :)

It was great meeting all of you, DH and I agree that this was a much better trip because of all y'all, thanks :grouphug:

caffeine's ready, will check back later :wave2:

Howdy Bpicard9,

Got my second load of laundry in too. Back to the old routine. How was the coffee this morning? Yummy? :goodvibes

Thank you for your prayers. We finally told Patrick last night, he's very sad. I'm glad we waited, he's very sensative.

Tell your wonderful hubby we say hi. :wave2:

Well you could say that my service for breakfast was not up to the standard we got with Liam and Miro our waiters. It was slap and serve the bagels with cream cheese this AM. :rotfl: No napkins put on our laps today, it was go get a napkin out of the drawer....

Well we've got Church and than plans with Bill's family. Somewhere I've got to fit in the homework that Patrick needs to do.

Have an awesome day. Keep in touch forever!!!! :grouphug:

Time to throw the laundry in the dry. Talk to you soon.

DiDi :wave2:

Hi All,

Thanks everyone for a great week!!

Our thoughts & prayers go to Ingrid & Gringo as well as to DiDi & Bill.

Also, do we still want to pool all of our photo's and put them all on a DVD? How about it Bpicard9? I'll do whatever I can to help but I've got very little experience making photo albums online.

Is everyone home now? Any last minute stragglers enjoing WDW? How about any long distance drivers?

Did anybody else pick up a cold on the cruise? Several in our group, including me, seem to be having cold symptoms. Cough, etc.

Does everybody have their 'land' leggs back? We all seem to be doing OK here.

Kathy says "Woo Hoo" to the sandals!! She wore them non-stop since she bought them & all the way home.

More laundry & cat boxes.

Back later.

Thanks again everyone!!

David & Kathy too.

Deanna, Julie, Prima (spelling?), Ingrid (Joyce), Eric, Season, Dennis, Chrystina, Larry, Charis (spelling?), Warren, Kim, Kathy, David, Jamie, Marsha, Thayer, and all our friends from Barney's Brood who expressed your sympathy ~ Thank you so much. :grouphug:

Deanna ~ We tried to focus one the positive so we could prevent ruining Patrick's vacation. When I was his age our family vacations were bigger than life, so we were very careful to not show our sadness. The fact that we were surrounded by our new friends was a big help, even if we didn't let everyone know about our loss.

Larry ~ No words can express the fact that I know you carried some of my burden. Only a brother does that, and I'm happy to call you my brother.

Dennis and Chrystina ~ I am truly enriched to have spent some times with you on our trip. Chrystina, Dennis was right when he praised you on the thread.

To all ~ I hope this is the beginning of friendship for us all.

Hey! Maybe a ski weekend sometime! There is a "secret" place in New England called Jay Peak that has powder to rival Utah (no kidding)! Or maybe we cast caution to the wind and go to Utah itself! That would be easier for our midwest and west coast friends. :hyper:

Ingrid and Gringo (Joyce and Darren) ~ You and your brother's loved ones will be in our prayers. It's terrible to see someone die too young. I wonder if the timing of your loss (and mine) was grace to shield you (and me) from some of the pain. It's a beautiful time of year to be in Edmonton, Alberta. I hope you have some times this fall that are as golden as your leaves. :sunny:

Bill

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :earseek:

I just saw Barney's cat-box! :cat:
I know what my next job is. :scared:

Warren and Kim ~ We enjoyed some Blue Mountain coffee today. :hyper:
It's nice to have some things at home that are better than at Disney. It makes it better to go back home. If the Magic did a better job on the coffee it would be harder to face Massachusetts. I hope your connections back to Oregon went smoothly.

bpicard9 ~ We had talked of seeing shooting stars on from the boat. On the night we got the news about my dad, I saw one from our veranda that went from right to left across most of the sky.

Well, family has arrived. It's time to focus on things at hand.
My best to you all ("y'all"). :grouphug:

Chrystina  and I just walked in the door about an hour ago... :confused3 Missed the connection in Atlanta by three minutes :rotfl2: so we got to spend and extra night. :earseek:

GLAD to be home again!!!

Thanks everyone for a wonderful time! It was a great week and I hope the beginning of many lengthy friendships! Well, gotta do laundry, yard work, and lotsa other stuff at the moment ...

Dennis

Good evening to everyone.

I spent the entire day in my sweats and sweatshirt. Laying around. It was great. Laundry is all washed but not put away. Yuck. Back to reality.

Ingrid- I am so sorry for your loss. I am so sad for you also. I can't imagine your pain. Have they already had the funeral?

We have rebooked on the ship for Sept. 30, 2006. But I'm actually looking at other options such as Royal Carribean. Is that a cuss word on the DIS board? We had several negative experiences with the kids' clubs. If the kids are just going to hang with us, then we are considering other cruise lines. Royal Caribbean seems to be kid friendly also. And they have a new ship coming next summer with a water park on top of it. The pricing is just a bit cheaper even with my onboard discount from Disney. Anyone had any experience with Royal Caribbean? We are just researching. Who knows what will happen?

All for now. Have a great night. Deanna

Julie- have you found a DIS meet for Sept 30? I can't find it yet.

Hi Folks,
Well, we got back to Edmonton early this afternoon. I’m not even thinking of unpacking for a couple days. I’m exhausted! We had a wonderful time! The only regret I have is that we did’nt have the opportunity to get to know everyone here as much as I would have hoped. Chantel did’nt take to the kid’s club very well. I’m not sure why, but the little time that she did spend there, she always seemed to be happy when we picked her up. So because of this, we were on HER agenda 90% of the time. I was in complete exhaustion until about Wednesday too. And then of course we were hit with bad news Thursday morning.

I feel an extra closeness to Bill and Didi who also got bad news. If only we could turn back time.

Deanna…thanks so much for the “gift”. You got me teary-eyed. And it’s adorable!

Sorry we missed breakfast with all of you the last day. Somehow, I had it in my head that we had second seating. Then it dawned on me on the way to Animator’s that we were suppose to be on first seating! So we left the ship hungry.

It’s too bad that we could’nt have switched around a bit at dinnertime. Then it would have given us all an opportunity to chat with everyone.

SmilingMouse: I saw you in Cozumel! We were in a taxi waiting for a light and I yelled out your name, but I think you must have thought I was a vendor and ignored me. Heehee. I think the cab driver thought I was nuts yelling out the window “hey…SmilingMouse!! SmilingMouse!!” He was probably thinking “a bunch of nutty tourists..but hope they tip well! :rotfl:

Congrats on those who re-booked. Deanna..I’m really curious on what reactions your kids had about the kid’s club. Did they say anything negative about the counselors? Like I said, Channi seemed to be happy when we picked her up, but she never really told us why she did’nt want to go back there very often. She was only there twice the entire cruise.

We are definitely going to give Disney cruise another try, but we are thinking maybe in five years or so. If Channi is older and can be on her own more, both us and her may have a better time.

Funeral is on Tuesday in Calgary.
