Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

My husband and I will probably be tweeting the occasional pic or travel update. I'm ImDMous and he's Kedrel. Hopefully I will remember to use the #DisneyWonder tag if that's easier to search by.

There was a beautiful picture posted on Twitter of sunrise coming under the bridge Tuesday, just a small line of light coming over the clouds but enough dawn to see the bridge but still the lights also. It was gorgeous.

Can you send a link to it? I have a twitter account but never use it (so I'm not Twitter-savy, LOL).

I posted the following on the main board, but figured I would ask here as well - or if anyone else is interested in the responses they can check it out...

"Taking the Pixar California Cruise next week and spending two days in San Francisco. Have questions regarding Public Transportation.

Do they sell the daily muni passes anywhere near the port? Pier 35 to be specific.

Does anyone know any cool routes to take using Cable Car/Street Cars (Or combinations of both)- starting and ending near Pier 35? Ok with getting on and off for tourist stuff..."

Thanks

I have started packing and quickly realized that 2 pieces of luggage just isn't going to cut it! :rotfl2: I think the chance of rain in SF has me paranoid so I have thrown dd's rain jacket and rain boots into the mix as well as 2 umbrellas. Those things take up space but I don't want to regret not brininging them. Even if we do have light rain in SF, I want to do whatever we originally planned to do and I know dd will not want to be wet all day (me either for that matter!)

Thats the problem with SF rain , its never a warm one , its cold. We are from Granite Bay in placer co Ca and have been suffering high temps. Even with being a CA girl all my life its hard to remember the change in weather from coast to inland and north to south! I think if it rains I will watch movies on the ship and go to the lounges all day. Grew up accross the bay from SF so both my DH ( who has not started packing) and I have been to the city countless times and have both worked in the city at one time of the other. Since DH wants to relax ( snicker snicker, with 3 grandson on board) SF is going to be our place to do that. Only excursion planned will be Pier 39 for shopping and the aquarium. He would like a seafood salad at Aliotos at fishermans Wharf so.... maybe.

Thankyou so much ! :)

The bridge with the sunrise sounds so beautiful...........I'm so their........I will let you all have the fun drink :stir: I will join the hot tea group...if they have that. hmmmmm

Weather looks great.........a little rain will not hurt us.........does it come down like hard rain or just a shower. We usually don't use a umbrella around here (Tacoma, WA) unless it is really coming down. :lmao:

I'm like my daughter Christy and probably won't be able to sleep much Sat night ...we have to leave so early for the airport...:crazy2: ... so only 2 and a half sleeps........yay......I'm so ready to meet all of you!!!

Try the Vistors Bureau online. I'm sure if you Google walking tour or trolley tour of SF you're bound to find something. We've rented a car for the two days. I'm a planner and already have google mapped out our routes and what we're going to see. Been to SF a couple times so we've seen the touristy stuff... Lombard St, Trolley Ride, Bus Tour. But we have never made it to Alcatraz so we are doing that and WD Family Museum on 2nd day, wine tasting and a live podcast taping of Leo Laporte's in Petaluma the first day.

So sorry, I haven't been on the Dis at all lately. I went in and cleared out my pm box a bit, your message came through, and I just responded. :thumbsup2

Now to catch up on this thread. I can't believe tomorrow is September and we're counting down in days. Yikes!

AZ Pirates, I need your names too for FE stuff. I'm going to need a suitcase just for all the gifts

I organized all my FE and other assorted stuff (not clothes or toiletries or shoes!) and I already have an overflowing box that's larger than a paper box. Hmm, I'm thinking I'll need to bring more suitcases than I originally thought!

Also, this is me: :hyper: :woohoo: :scared1:  :bitelip: :cool1: :wave2: :hyper: :scared1: :woohoo:

We sent a box ahead to our room yet I still have an entire rolling carry on full of stuff!

For packing I am down to my oldest son, myself and then the baby is half way packed. Only my 6 year old is totally packed because he has so many outfits it was easy! My dh is meeting us for one day in SF as he has Weds off of work and will drive down from the Sac area to see us. I am hoping the whether stays nice enough that we will at least want to explore the city with him. He is not a California native like me so he has not spent much time in the city even though he loves it. Boys are getting SUPER excited - Dylan has pirate day at school tomorrow so he is testing out his costume early!

I sent that info to Julie and I couldn't figure out why she didn't add it to the list, until I realized I was signed in under an old Dis account I don't use anymore. DUH! I imagine that was pretty confusing.

I'm Sheila, DH is Kerry, and the kiddos are Tanner and Cammi

About 80% done packing, one day left to work and we'll be cruising in...

:dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

THREE DAYS !!!!

:dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

I know this is supposed to be a positive thing, and I'm super excited for the cruise, but I have to admit it's stessing me out just a bit.

I had a huge To-Do list today, but I ended up sitting around waiting for the plumber all day. I couldn't even do laundry since I had to turn the water off until repairs were made.

Oh well, FE gifts are now finished, and I made a few door signs I didn't think I'd have time for. Tomorrow is going to be crazy though!

This is the only vacation where I've been packed days in advance, usually I'm running around like crazy the night before. The only thing I could do I'm not planning on doing, which is to make a Russell costume for the little grom. I'm just out of time and only have a shirt which isn't even perfect, I'm hoping the pixar characters will be at Disneyland whenever we make it there....as I can't really come up with the sash full of badges overnight, but that's ok because I have way too many baby outfits anyway...at this rate he will need to wear two a day :P
So stoked for this trip!

Hi, I'm on thee Sept 30th cruise, I'm a San Francisco native, living just south of the City now, but still working there daily.

Here's something I posted in the Sept 30th thread re weather

Please be sure to bring layers for your visit to San Francisco, I was at the Ballpark last night and it was cold and windy. For the first time ever, I left the game before the end. I had on cords, long sleeve shirt, light sweater, heavy jacket, knit gloves and a muffler. I was sitting up in the nosebleed section, but it was chilly....

Note to self, never ever be tempted by section 334!

Thanks so much for posting this for us. I think I will be bringing a heavier jacket, even if it is just for the evenings up on deck watching a movie :thumbsup2

Ruh Ro!! :scared: We don't even own "heavy jackets"...I already had us in layers for the ballgame but the thickest one being the hoody sweat shirts- I did pack gloves and beanies as well for me and the boys---what is a "muffler" (southern Arizona native I dont own COLD clothes or apparently know what they are called even LOL) we are down in section 143 in the right outfield do you think that will help with the wind factor?

Thanks for the heads up!!

Its been so hot here lately I cant even imagine what cold feels like, I hope our bodies dont go into shock :faint: Well good thing we havent packed yet, we will be able to throw in our cold weather clothes. :thumbsup2

In 143, you'll be more wind protected than I was, and hopefully it won't be as unseasonably chilly as it was last night. I was referring to a long knit scarf that I wrapped around my neck. Be sure to bring at least baseball caps too.

I was really excited to see that the Giants were playing the Dodgers when we were in port, it was a perfect idea for a way to spend my brother's 60th birthday. Then I realized that that game is happening in Los Angeles...

It's Friday, September 21, 2012, the last official day of summer,
that means we cruise in just....
