Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

Hi - visiting your thread - I bought a shoe organizer today at Big Lots. It cost $8 and they had other styles of hanging shoe and jewlery holders starting at $5.99. They didn't have one with hooks at the one I went to. Some had a coat hanger built in, but I chose one that didn't ...just holes, but tons of shoe pockets. And I have a plan... coat hanger and zipties. It will either be in the bathroom if there a door hook, or in the closet. Hope this helps you two. :yay: :yay:

thanks, this is very helpful, I will put some zipties in my luggage along with my shoe organizer :)

I would love to be up on deck 10 as we sail under the GG bridge but I also don't want to wake dd up! I plan on us being on the go a lot while in SF so she needs her sleep. I'll just order some coffee from room service and sit on the balcony drinking my coffee as we pass under.

I'm so excited for this cruise! I wasn't stressed about packing until today. I really need to get going on it so that I can relax. I feel like I have a lot to do before we set sail so that MIL is all set to watch the boys.

Just curious....how many with little ones (my dd is 3) have main seating for dinner?? Has anyone ever done the late seating with the younger ones?? We have main. I'm just hoping its not too early.

Thanks!!

Win

Would love to know who else are local to So Cal on the cruise. If you see a blonde lady in a red scooter, stop and say hi.... that's me.

Sorry, I thought I had responded to this but I can't find it.

We are local to So Cal :) We will be watching for you, for sure. Will you be joining the meet and greet at 3:00 on Sunday?

We have always done late dining but my DS was 7 the first time we cruised so that probably doesn't help much. But it has never been a problem for him. We found that our schedules adjust anyway when on board. We sleep in a little later and definitely stay up later :thumbsup2

I guess it just depends on if you think she will do better eating first, then going to the show (if you plan to attend). Or if going to the show first and then eating will work better.

Thanks!! At this age, eating first will probably be better. She usually doesn't nap, but I have a feeling she will on the cruise. :) We shall see how it all plays out. DH and I have always done late so it'll be a bit different for us this time around.

I was at Ikea and they have one for $5, but they were sold out at my store, for anyone that is looking.

The zipties are a good idea. I was thinking a pants hanger with clips might work, but the zipties would be better.

I have two LEGOland Coupons (buy one adult ticket, get a child tix free). If anyone is doing it on their own and needs one, PM me and I can put it in your FE or bring it to the meet and greet.

We have early seating as well. We normally eat between 5 and 6 anyway so I don't think dd (who is almost 5) would last until 8.

We have main too (my DD is 7) and we did main on our last cruise when she was 5. It was the perfect time for the little ones! Everyone's hungry by then and if they are tired then they won't have to wait to long to eat. Those with the late dinner have the early show. Then after main dinner we switch and we go to the show. The shows are amazing and a must see!

We're early seating too! I wonder if they'll seat us together since we have one 3yo ourselves :) they tend to matchmake like that.

There is a thread going right now on the main DCL board called Pixar Cruises. Some of the people on board right now have been posting updates for us.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2992339

They let us know that the ship docks nose in when using Pier 35 North (which we will use) so starboard side has the view of the GG Bridge.

They also posted that they arrived in San Francisco about 6:30 am so if you are interested in being on deck when we go under the bridge, that will give you an idea of the time. A few of us were chatting about maybe having a little mini-group meet that morning to experience it together :thumbsup2

I asked about the special Pixar merchandise but no one has updated on that yet.

thanks for the info :), and I would be interested in a meet up when we go under the bridge:cool1:

I have an almost 3 year old, 6 year old and 8 year old and we switched to late dining. Not totally my favorite idea but we are traveling with 4 other adults who were up in arms over eating that early. My kiddos are pretty flexible though and will be fine with it!

We have the late dinner, which worked well for us last time. But I think either one works, based on all the comments. The cruise is so much fun its easy to go with whatever you have :thumbsup2

You were added to the FE List (#2) - check out my post on page 101.
Julie

Does anyone on the FE List #2 have:
Peanut or other allergies that we should be aware of when making FE's
Any adults NOT want alcohol?

Just checking. We're not allergic to either (wink wink!)

We have early dining also....grands are used to eatting then. Wow, now another board to look at.........hee hee.........getting really excited and my list is getting marked up....suitcase down from upstairs in the morning.

It would be fun to be on deck to go under the GG bridge...........:wave2:

We are room 1036....

My son Bryan has a peanut/nut allergy but as long as it is labeled appropriately and not put into his FE pocket, he'll steer clear of it. His brother Liam LOVES all things nuts, perhaps in response to his brother's allergy?

Us adults are definitely not allergic to alcohol (wink, wink)!

Thanks for asking!

So after a bit of worry that the alarm wouldn't go off to wake me up for my flight this morning it turns out that I didn't need to worry as I was wide awake at 3am. I leave for the airport in about an hour to head to the Happiest Place on Earth (which for me includes Angels baseball!)

We missed going under the bridge last time so I would be up for trying to make it on deck in time to see it.

See you all on board!
