Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

Evening everyone. I hope you have had good days or nights. Work has been a zoo but almost fun (almost mind you). I will for sure be ready for vacation when it gets here, if not sooner. I can't believe that the wedding in in 4 weeks. Holy cow!

AussieMumma - good luck with the flight situation. That is a long way to go it alone so hopefully the TA will pull through and get you an acceptable deal so you can all travel together.

So, I think I need to go and find something mindless on the TV as the brain cells are pretty fried. I can't even remember who I had other things to say to. Pretty sad state of affairs that is!

Have a good evening.

I can't believe that the wedding in in 4 weeks. Holy cow!

Have you got a wedding too Gail? Where's yours? Do you have to travel far? I hope the knees will be okay if you do. My brothers wedding is in three weeks and one day. :scared1: I still need to buy socks for the kids and work out packing etc as we will have no car in Sydney and will have to haul everything in public transport.

I'm a go for the postcards. It sure was an expensive trip into the mall to check on them - I explored some stores I don't get a chance to with the kids and came out with some new household stuff by accident! Opps.

I hear you on brain fry. I got four hours sleep last night thanks to one child deciding it was a good thing to get in the bed with Mum and make Dad sleep in his. Then he wriggled and thrashed around for two and a half hours before I got his Dad back to growl him as I was so fed up. I have no clue what was wrong as the child won't discuss it this morning but I know he's the one that just enjoys company all the time. So I'm a bit dozy to say the least too. Main thing is that the dog got a walk this morning before I get onto other things.

Hi Nancy and Welcome!!!!

Wow, b2b! That sounds awesome. I wish I could afford the time off work for the B2B (the pricing on these cruises would certainly be affordable).
Since my kids aren't joining us for this cruise, I'm going to be dropping off two 9" vinylmations to be signed (my kids collect vinylmations). I can't wait to see how they turn out.
We do have a meet and greet planned for 3:00 on boarding day in the Promenade Lounge.
glindamood is our FE coordinator so you can drop her a note with your FE information. You made it just under the wire for this one. Our cutoff is tomorrow :thumbsup2

A big wave hello to everyone this morning!! I was surprised when I logged into the DCL site to see that they are now offering an IGT for this cruise. $599 per person. I don't think I have ever seen that rate for a 7-night cruise on Disney :rotfl2:

Welcome Rich and Nancy, and Walt and Beth! Wow, back to back would be so fun! Can't take the kids out of school for two weeks, unfortunately. :sad1: We did the first PC Eastbound Repo in '05, before dd10 was in school and before dd6 was born. Two weeks on the Magic was heaven!

If you or someone wants to put a cabin crawl together for one of the sea days you can come see our room. We have one of the partially obstructed veranda rooms.

We first saw the partially obstructed veranda, and several others, on a cabin crawl during the 2008 EB PC. After that we started booking these rooms to get a varanda at a reduced rate.

Hello everyone, we booked last night. This is our second DC - we did the Mexican Riveria in February. Can't wait. Would love to join the FE and the Postcard Exchange. I saw notes about 3 years old, we have one 3 year old DD who will turn 4 on the cruise and she is very outgoing and loves to meet new friends.:wizard:

:welcome: Post two more times and you can get me a PM for the FE and postcards if you are interested. Based on what you have said, I will add you to the list.

FE Group - we are now at 16 cabins. Anyone wanting to join in needs to get me a PM by tomorrow evening (you are included in that count Nancy)

Cabin Crawl - we are in a sideways so anyone wanting a peak, I am up for opening my door. If someone wants to organize it, let me know when I need to do that and I will be sure we are neat and tidy.

Hello DIS board!

BRAND new to this message board

Brand new to cruising and BRAND new to Disney cruises!

My incredible inlaws have booked this cruise for our family (my husband, 2 sons ages 12 and 10, myself and my mother in law and father in law) :cool1:

They are old pros at Disney cruising and have wanted to take use for years. With the special airline rates that occurred this past week they simply could not pass up this great vacay and we are so thrilled to be getting treated. pixiedust:

Wanted to say hi-finally.

I have yet to post but have been reading for 2 days now and would love you participate in the fish extenders thingy...still need to read up on the official rules on that though.

hi glinda girl
about the fishextender..i dont want to receive anything,im a secret giver for the kids..its fun to see the kids with the toys or etc playing on the ship..we did that with our floor on the trans/a last yr on the magic...the kids couldnt wait to get back from breakfast to see what they got..we could do a cabin crawl by floors thats fun, anyone have a suite? we saw the owners on the magic wowie it was the fanciest i have ever seen, ever period...but what else to expect from disney? i think disney cruise is truly a 6star experience.

.j2tyco disney for ur 1st cruise !! u are on the rollsroyce of cruises and all other cruise lines will be real vw for ya....but any cruise is better then working!!lol
ps remember loose lips sink ships ask ur in-laws what i 'm talking about:wave2:!!

Welcome to Gunka, j2tyco and Jadrgnfly! Lots of people now joining the thread and I can't keep up with everyone popping up - looks like the cruise might be filling up now. The thread is jumping along quickly and I'm loosing track, in July last year it was just Bill and I talking together on the first page and now it's going a page a day.

My two nearly five year old boys are up for meeting new friends, it'll be interesting to see how the kids all get on at the DisBoard meet on embarkation day. Man I hope we can find where we are supposed to go, DH relies on his GPS too much.:rotfl2:

Erbie - we'll pass on the Scavenger Hunt, DH wants to have a quiet week on the Wonder soaking up his first cruise before we fly back to New Zealand. He seems to want to take his Garmin onboard and run the track so he can see the run record going round and round out at sea, he certainly has his own idea of fun!

Crafters - you'll understand this, heavy duty interfacing is not my friend at the moment. I bought some here for some stuff I'm making for the FE gifts and you have to superheat it to bend it. I've spent the last week superheating it to get my items turned right side out and then superheating it again to get a seam allowance fold. I've got burns on my thumbs. :worried: This is not going how I'd planned.

Welcome to all of the new people :wave2:

Cabin crawl sounds good, our's isn't that exciting, two connecting deluxe oceanview staterooms, but I'd love to see a veranda room and an inside room :thumbsup2

We have flights  the TA came through and saved us $2500 off the awful price, still not as cheap as the cheapest price but for me to fly in early with the kids and pay for a hotel and meals for the extra 5 nights it just wasn't worth it, we'd maybe come out with $1000 saving but my sanity is worth millions :rotfl2:
Oh and I forgot the best bit, we have to come home two days later....oh bugger how sad and extra two days on holiday!!!!!!

That should look odd. When he is running from aft to forward it will look like he is running at 60 km/hr and when he is running from forward to aft it will look like he is running backwards.

On several cruises I took a GPS with a magnetic antenna that I stuck on the side of the ship and then plugged into my lapatop with a world map. This is the point DD always says "Dad your such a dork". Your right, we all have our own idea of fun. :artist:

That is good news. I was worried for you to think you might opt to fly alone with your children so I am happy your TA came to your rescue!

First off.....a big welcome to all the new cruisers!!!!! Looks like we are going to have a pretty nice sized group after all :thumbsup2

I would certainly be interested in the cabin crawl but we are VGT so I won't know our cabin assignment for a while (and even then, we may try to upgrade at the port so we may not know our cabin until the day we leave). We have always sailed in the same room type so I think it would be really cool to see the other rooms :cool1:

We were able to tour the Walt Disney Suite on our 2-night cruise to nowhere thanks to a member of our meet group (from another message board) opening up the room for a couple of hours on the first day. Someday I will get to try it myself....... :rotfl2:

LOL - that is too funny. I have heard people say that the GPS doesn't work well when the ship is moving. It would be interesting to see how it tracks it.

WOO HOO on both the price savings and the two extra days!!!!

I am sharing your airline woes with you today. I spend almost two hours on the phone with American yesterday after booking a flight online only to have them charge me $90 more than what was in the confirmation. Come to find out it was a bug in their system and they could honor the base fare of the flight, but not the add-on package I wanted (priority boarding, stand-by for earlier flight, etc). So I ended up getting a refund (hopefully...it hasn't shown up yet) of both the $90 and difference in fare, but no early boarding :( Ugh...I hate airlines.

That should look odd. When he is running from aft to forward it will look like he is running at 60 km/hr and when he is running from forward to aft it will look like he is running backwards.

LOL - sounds like my DH and kids.

Id love to join in a cabin crawl too. Never heard of it & never done it but sounds neat. We have a VGT room though too so don't know when we'll have assignment.
