Sept. 23, 2010 Wonder

This will be our 2nd Disney cruise. It will be my DH, DD Aubrey 7, and DS Luke 2. A little worried about the age of my son, but hey, this one was free and we had limited date options and I didn't want to leave him behind.

Anyway, the reason I came to the board was looking for the FE program. I didn't know about it on my 1st cruise. My best friends family did this last year on her cruise and told me about it and this board to come look for it on. We'd love to participate. Have you started a list?

Stephanie
(also in NC)

:wave2: Hi Stephanie! :welcome: I haven't started an official list but planning to do that around June once my kids cheer lives die down a little. :goodvibes I will gladly include you. At that time I'll post detailed information to keep everyone in the loop.

As for your son, he'll have a blast still. My youngest (will be 3 on this cruise) was 1 yr 4 mo. on her first cruise and 2 yr 3 mo. on her 2nd. She LOVED the water area and Flounders Reef. She wanted to go in and would say bye like it was her area and we didn't need to be there. ;o) We even took her during dinner a few times cause she really didn't want to sit with us.

We just booked this cruise :banana:

It will be just DH and I. :lovestruc We will be on the Dream with our 4 kids, my parents and two other families April 2011. All the excitement of booking that trip made me wish we were going sooner. DH and I try to get a weekend away every fall so I thought, why not a cruise? An added benefit is we'll get the "lay of the land" for our April cruise and not feel like such newbies!

Welcome aboard,

Just wanted to check in and say HI to everyone! We are getting very excited about the cruise! After much debate, we decided to go ahead and stay at Disney World the day before the cruise (we are doing the back-to-back so, for us, that is the night of the 18th). We had actually looked at staying at the Radisson or the Comfort Suites at the Port but, after we looked at the cost, we realized we could stay on DVC points at the Beach Club and just pay parking at the Port and still come out about the same as the cost for a night stay at those hotels near the Port. This will be our first time staying at the Beach Club, and DD is very excited about Stormalong Bay. We are planning on spending that night at Epcot and *finally* seeing Illuminations, although I note that MNSSHP is showing on the 18th so we're going to have a tough decision to make. Last year we also cruised in September and did MNSSHP before the cruise so that's kind of become a tradition of sorts for us. Ahhhhh, decisions, decisions. :goodvibes

Congratulations on your Pre-cruise stay at BCV, Illuminations is awesome good luck with that decision:goodvibes I had us booked into VWL for a few days before the cruise but DW put the kabash on it saying two weeks would be too much for our "A" student senior daughters :teacher:I had to agree, although reluctantly as I had CRT and SOA ressies made for that time period...sniffle, but I was able to get the friday after our cruise at CRT as we are doing MNSSHP that day..:thumbsup2 Still have to rebook SOA, just not sure which day yet:headache: I was able to add a friday to our AKV GV so thats cool. Now I am out of 2011 points!!! Looking for an add on, perhaps on the cruise:thumbsup2

Welcome Mom2BCCC!:wave2:

Crystal_27...you DD will LOVE SB. My girls do. We love BCV and if it was up to DH we would never stay anywhere but there. :goodvibes

Malaguti....Out of 2011 points already... You sound like me. :rotfl: I'm usually always out of points but have been paying for cruises lately so less points on Disney stays. That will be over though soon....trying to go to Hawaii.

Good luck getting over to Hawaii, are you going to do and exchange through DVC? or......Buy at the new DVC resort over there:banana:

It sounds like you guys are still going to get some good park time in even though it wasn't what you were hoping for. LOL about being out of points -- I know the feeling (although we used our points for a 2011 cruise on the Dream so we'll still get a good vacation out of it in 2011).

Yeah, we definitely can't wait to experience BCV. Honestly, if I hadn't been so blinded by being on the monorail, we likely would have bought into BCV. Not that I don't love BLT, but...you know how that goes.

I was thinking about the FE thing yesterday and I thought I might suggest something that might be perfect for our small group. What if we did a Secret Mickey (kinda like a Secret Santa) instead of a FE? The deal would be that each family would receive another family and just give daily suprises to their Secret Mickey. I did a Secret Mickey (along with a FE) on my last cruise and it was great fun. I think we set the limit at about $40, but that was for a 7 night cruise, so we definitely could go with a lower limit. What do you guys think? :goodvibes

I LOVE that idea. Something different. I would still be happy to coordinate a list and then PM each individual with their Secret Mickey. If you are in send me a PM with your DIS name, real name, cabin number and any important info (ages of kids, SO, food allergies...etc).

Good thinking Crystal_27!

I would be in be a Secret Mickey type of thing instead of the FE. Will do either that is decided... Just thought it would be neat for my kids to have something to look forward to checking on. :yay:

:goodvibes Sounds great!

Another cruiser here :cloud9:I am cruising with 3 girlfriends of mine for a little getaway~ We are very excited although I am feeling guilty for leaving the husband and kiddos at home. :guilty:

I am pretty sure we will stay on property the night before but haven't decided which resort yet. We need to book that with the summer discount that is out!

Stephanie, when we did our Secret Mickey, we actually did daily surprises, followed by one larger gift at the "reveal." It really was a fun experience and it seemed like all of us that were participating in the Secret Mickey were always running into each other on the ship and just hanging out. We also did a DIS PJ breakfast one morning in one of the dining rooms which was also a ton of fun! :goodvibes

Welcome... And don't feel guilty, I'm sure you deserve a little get away...

WOW...sounds like you have it all down pact. Maybe I should just assist you and let you manage it. :goodvibes

Oh, no - - I'm definitely not organized enough to put together a successful DIS cruise experience. I think that our last cruise worked so well because I just showed up when and where I was supposed to. :lmao: If you do need help, though, I can definitely do anything that you wish.

Now that the weather is so pretty, I'm totally going through vacation withdrawal right now...it's going to be rough trying to tough it out until September for sure. :rolleyes1

We can always do both..a DIS meet and the FE if we have enough participants. ;o) We won't get in until that morning so it would have to be something on the boat. I am traveling with work so I'll have to wait to see what they have me committed too before committing to the DIS meet though. As we get closer we'll get a schedule.

What part of NC are you from? I'm from NC too...
