Sept 23, 2007 Wonder

Welcome KC,

Glad you're joining us on the boards and the cruise. :) While we're not extending the cruise, we are going to the parks, so for me that's just as good.

Personally, I don't have an issue with posting room numbers. If somebody was posing as a fellow guest on the cruise, the room # doesn't do them any good and once you're on the ship, it is pretty easy to see who is going in and out of different rooms. I guess it's not any different then having our address in the phone book - only the ship "address" is only good for 4 days. :sad2:

See you in 90+ days!

We look forward to "meeting" those traveling with us. Although I have to admit, for security purposes, do you think it's the safest idea to post cabin numbers on the forum, especially those traveling with kids?

God bless,
KC in OKC

Great to have you joining us. From what I can tell, we're going to have a pretty empty ship, so we should have plenty of room.

I'm pretty skeptical about posting room numbers myself, but look at it like this...if you're going to run into trouble on board with someone, they can get your room number whether you like it or not. I also think that your room is the least likely place to have something happen, although the chances in general are very slim. But it's certainly your decision to make. If you don't feel comfortable sharing any information, that is your decision. And I wouldn't post it if I didn't feel comfortable with it.

With the loss of Dave, I'll start updating the list of people going, room numbers, etc...and that often includes a list of the ages of children going with us. If you see someone on that list with a child your age, I would feel free to send them a private message, and maybe your children can start e-mailing so they have a friend before they get on the ship.

Cool. Maybe this will mean some upgrades will be available free/cheap at the port.:thumbsup2
Hopefully there will be enough kids for fun group activities without the ship being too crowded. I remember when we did the 7 day last year in August, some of the deck parties were so well attended you could barely find room to stand.

Embarkation Meet - 3 PM - Promenade Lounge
WE WILL HAVE A DIS MEETING ON BOARD SEPTEMBER 23RD AT 3:00PM IN THE PROMENADE LOUNGE!
WEAR SOMETHING LIME-GREEN TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF!

There are two "pre-trip" report for our cruise on the trip reports board. Joel's is more exciting than mine!
Joel's Secret Wedding Report

Mozart's Life Stinks Report

If anyone is interested in sitting for dinner with another DIS'er, please send me a private message. I will attempt to match you up. Make sure I know whether you have early or late seating.

The grass skirt fraternity will be meeting on Deck 10, port side during the sailaway party! Wear your grass skirt, and drink a Grass Skirt!

Thanks for updating the "list". We always have the late seating, so I'm almost positive that's where we'll be again. We'll be at the Grand Flo for the week before we get on board - we can't do the Boat w/o the World!

Since we've done the 3- and 4-day before, and since we'll be doing both back to back this time, we are going to stray from any Disney-sponsored shore excursions in Nasau (the 30-min guided bus-tour of Nasau is nice the first time). We've read the natural gardens (the "zoo") is worth visiting w/ the kids. On the other trip to Nasau, we'll most likely do our own visit of Atlantis, maybe even getting a room for the day. Any other ideas?

God bless to all,
Kara

Only 90 days until we sail!!! I just made reservations for our cruise activities and was pleasantly surprised at how many time slots were available. :)

It looks like DW and DS managed to find ways to use up all of the onboard credit (and then some  ), but it will be a fun time for all.

Here's how we're spending our money (er, um I mean time):

- DW is doing a massage Sunday evening
- DW is doing the Catamaran/Snorkeling in Nassau
- DW and I are having our 19th anniversary dinner @ Palo's Monday,
- Whole family is doing stingray adventure @ CC
- DW and I are doing brunch on Wed.

We made our Reservations this morning!!!!!!

Palo's Monday
Rasul on Wednesday

We are keeping things open and book up too much time.
Plus with a 3 YO you are very limited.

Life is good!!!!
It will be better in 90 Days.

Scott

Here's what we have:

Monday:
Manicure for DW
Couples massage

Tuesday:
Bike rentals
Palo's for 2. This is a problem since we wanted ressies for 4, but it wouldn't let us make them.

Wednesday:
Manicure for me. (Still not sure I actually want to do this.)
Brunch for 2. Same problem as above.
Pedicure for DW.

After much trial and frustration - since I was at work and my son was working on this - we got brunch for all 6 of our adults at Palo's, the Caribbean Queen Snorkel Tour in Nassau and the Banana Boat Ride at CC. My oldest is also doing dinner at Palo's on Sunday. I also was able to get my daughter signed up for the Lab and fill out most of our forms!!! Yeah!!! Only 90 days left. My dauhter has made a paper chain - hopefully it will go quickly.
:thumbsup2 :cool1:  :woohoo:

Did you get all 6 at one table? If so, please tell me how. I now have 2 tables of 2 for both brunch and dinner. DCL is telling me that I cannot book Palo's ressies for more than the number of people per cabin at an individual table. Because we have 2 people in each cabin, we have to book 2 tables, with 2 people at each table. They're saying for us to just let them know when we get there, and they'll seat us all together, but I'm worried that may not really be the case. I see that you said you had much trial and frustration. Is that what you had to do?

I'm not sure how my sone did it and he's not home right now. I'll ask him in the morning and let you know. I had told him that if he had to make it 3 and 3 but when I printed everything out it listed all of us at once for 11:30 so I'm not sure what he did. The trial and frustration came in because I wasn't sure what was going on and I knew the system was up and down all day. Only 89 days to go!!!

I asked my son this morning and he said he was able to put all 6 of us on one reservation. This may be because I made the reservations for both cabins but I'm not sure. Did one person make both your reservations and did you have them linked together? this is what I did. Not sure if this will help or not.

Well what is it now? 84 days and counting...We're getting closer. I finally got all of the kids registered for the Oceaneers Club. Something was wrong with my DSIL's Castaway Club number so her reservation was locked until the 75 day mark. I called and spoke to a Wonderful CSR and she fixed it on the spot. So all is well in Orlando again.

We are still enjoying the thrill of hiding our wedding from our family. I feel bad in one way because we have not told them the truth, but it is so funny watching them try to figure this out.

The other day my mom, who has never been on a cruise before, told me she would be "alright is I can see land." :rotfl2: I told her we weren't cruising on a lake. Someone from another board told me to get her a poster of some land and hang it in her room...Good idea.

Anyway, we haven't made any spa or activity plans. I think we're playing this cruise (aside from the wedding) by ear...(No pun intended). I would really love to just sit by the pool on the ship while we're in Nassau and unfortunately or fortunately our (DW & I) day at Castaway will be busy. We expect that after the ceremony and reception, the grandparents and aunts and uncles will go back the beach, while DW and I have some photos done. Should be fun, but I'd like to get some beach time too as well as a frosty adult beverage on the island.

I feel like I'm all alone out here on a raft set adrift to be carried by the tide...Where in everyone?

BBBBBBBBB Bump!

We're here. :yay: It's just that this is the time of year when nothing but swim team matters, lol. Four more weeks and we'll be back to a more "normal" schedule with time to visit the DISboards on a daily basis.

Hopefully soon we can get some more conversations going and better get to know our fellow cruisers in advance of the trip. Speaking of which, I'd be up for linking dinner reservations w/ anybody who has a child near our son's age. (He's 9). We haven't chosen a time, but will probably do early rotation. I do know we'll miss at least one dinner in the rotation as DW and I have our anniversary dinner at Palo's on the 24th.

I was just feeling a little lonely, thats all...And with 3 little ones of my own, I can appreciate running all over the place for swimming, baseball, dance and everything else they can get into.

I really hate to rush the summer through, but I really wish it was time to cruise. All of the planning that we do, i love to see it in action. We still haven't really decided about the "extras" though. My DW and I are forever debating the spa options. On one of our last cruises, we opted for the couples massage, I thouroughly enjoyed it, however, I think my "loud breathing" kept my DW from really relaxing. Me, I was OUT! Loved every minute of it though.

Thanks for the dinner invite but with 16 of us that would be hard. We have Main seating so the kids can eat at a "normal" time.

So is anyone traveling down before the cruise? What are ya doing? Talk kids, talk!!!

Gotta agree with what Bob said. It's just that time right now. I'm reading them all, and anxiously awaiting confirmation that I will be sharing in the Dom Perignon, rather than settling for a mixed drink from the bar on CC. Things will get busier as we get closer, I think. I don't even have any updates for my trip report right now. I'm the same way you are...right now I'm just trying to figure out how not to rush through the summer. It's doubly hard because not only am I looking forward to the cruise, but I'm waiting for Clemson football to get started up. And when it's 90' every day, it's kinda hard not to be looking forward to cool weather.

Had to see if I did this ticker thing correctly...

Mozart, I just read through all of your trip reports. What fun. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one w/ OCD when it comes to vacation planning. I always wonder why my family can't keep to my "perfectly reasonable", if slightly aggressive schedule, lol.

As much fun as the cruise will be, I'm also looking forward to our dinners at WDW pre- and post- cruise. With DS we're doing Ohana's and Prime Time Fri/Sat before the cruise. I always manage to get in trouble at PT and end up standing in the corner or sweeping floors, which DS just absolutely loves to see.

Once off the ship, we have dinner plans w/ DS and DD for Boma's and a night at California Grill (timed to be there for MK fireworks). Certainly not V&A's but definitely no letdowns after getting off the ship.
