Sept 22, 2013. A Pirate's Life on the Dream.

I do want to do Palo brunch and the rainforest on nassau and at sea days. Other than that - just enjoy whatever they have for us on board.

As first-time Disney cruisers, I'm a bit in the dark about the Palo Brunch... I keep hearing people talk about it as a "hot ticket item". Can anyone fill me in? Thanks!

Palo Brunch is an Adults Only brunch at the restaurant Palo. It's $20 per person. It's a buffet with several made to order options (things like pizzas, pastas, pancakes, eggs, etc.) It also includes a complimentary Mimosa or Prosecco. The brunch buffet is offered on sea days and reservations are required.

Here are some great blog posts about Palo Brunch with tons of pictures and information to give you a better idea about the brunch:

Checked inn on 11 am.
Got a reservation for Palo Brunch.
Got the port adventures we wanted (dolphin encounter and parasailing for Paul)
Now it's waiting for cabin assignment.

Checked in and got 11:30 PAT for our party of 10.
Cabanas were sold out at midnight, was the only thing we wanted :(
Also only waiting on cabin assignment now.

So I saw this idea on another thread on here of doing a Beer Exchange! Anyone who is interested in participating brings a 6 pack or 12 pack of local beer from where they're from. Then on the cruise, everyone participating meets up and exchanges the beer. So everyone gets 6 or 12 different beers from all these different places!

Is there anyone that would be interested in doing this on our cruise? I don't mind organizing this if there's an interest!

I would have been interested bu since we will be traveling by air and are limited in our luggage, I am gonna have to opt out. :(

I don't think I can even mail it:confused3

Didn't finish my check in online :worried: - waiting for my sister and her passport number. I am guessing tho that it won't matter what time I put since I will be arriving by Disney transportation.

Got my Palo Brunch :banana::banana:

:confused3 I get mixed up with "cabanas for lunch" and "cabanas sold out at midnight"...these are two different things right?

Gonna try to finish check in tonight when I get home.

We are from The Villages, Florida and are sailing with our MickeyFanatics Club. We are driving to the port on the day of sailing but a big group of us is arriving by bus. It should be fun. I hope to have my Mickey Fanatics T shirt by then.

pixiedust:

Oh Wow! Kind of neat that you have a Club that you travel with!
Y'all should be easy to figure out if you have special t-shirts. Cool!:cool1:

It must be only Platinum members and concierge that can get a cabana. I logged in as soon as I could at the 90 days and not one left!

HiMagicFan. probably does sound confusing! Cabanas is the name of a restaurant on The Dream where they serve lunch, breakfast and casual dinner. It is also the name of the little rooms you can hire on Castaway Cay. So lunch at Cabanas is on the Dream. Booking a cabana is on Castaway cay...

Hope that helps!

I went on the Big Red Boat in 1990 as a tween and have been waiting years to go back on a Disney cruise. I will be on the 9/22 cruise with my husband and 9yr old son. Recently found out about the FH thing and want in. How does it work? What information do I need to provide?

Not only welcome to our thread!!!:wave2:

but

WELCOME to DIS!!:)

We have two groups because there are so many of us.

Stephianne has been graciously coordinating it for us here because there is also a FB page that you can join. Some of us are not on FB so she was nice enough to post here.

You will need to provide her:

Family Name:
Names of all people in your cabin: (they ususally put gender and age here just so people know who is in the cabin)
Cabin #:
Any Special event you are celebrating while on the cruise:

I have no clue what the name of the group is on FB. You can pm her about joining.

And once again ~ welcome aboard!

Yipee!! :yay::yay::banana::banana::yay::yay:

I went to pay the last of my cruise (our transportation to/fr the ship) and was told that our balance was not $140 but was $120 because the taxes went down.

Go Check People!!!! There may be credits on your accounts!!!!!:woohoo:

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure everyone on these boards are huge Disney fans like me.
Thanks for the info. I have a FB account and sent a request to join the group.

I'll be the one crying tears of complete bliss in the atrium of the boat along with the husband who will be saying something like, "Your mother's crying again" :)

Lol. A woman after my own heart. I will be the one next to you fainting every five minutes from pleasure overload.....

Since many of you here have already been on a Disney Cruise do you know if the September cruises are normally less crowded? I'm big on traveling when other people aren't even though it's getting more difficult as my son gets into higher grade levels. I'm assuming the big discounts are to help fill up the boat.

I have never gone on a disney dream cruise - alaska was the last one (on the wonder) and they are usually full. the one before that was in 2006 on the wonder when there were just the two ships and since that wasn't yesterday, I am sorry but I just don't remember.:rotfl2:

I am hoping it isn't full!!! then there won't be long lines for the characters or at the spa:)

I have never traveled to FL in September - usually go during the christmas season when it is busy. So I am hoping the crowds will be less for us there as well.

OMG - this is July 1 coming and already it's hot here - where are those tradewinds!!!

So, I am watching the news and CA is going up, up and up!!!

Wondering what clothes should I be packing? Shorts mainly or jeans.
We usually travel during the christmas holidays so I know the weather can get really cold. Everyone on the ToT 10 miler boards are saying it is going to be humid...I realize that means I need to drink lots of fluids but what should we be prepared to wear?

Can you guys believe that I am already planning what to pack!!!:rotfl2:

Seriously tho - mostly shorts I am thinking with 1 or 2 long pants/capri, right?

Hi. I would say def no jeans far too hot. Cotton trousers ( pants ) , shorts etc def. sometimes I find the air con on the ship a little chilly in the dining at night so I bring a light smart cardigan to wear. This is what we bring

Swimwear
Cap
Sunglasses
Day wear ( casual pants/shorts t shirts, sneakers )
Evening wear (smart casual for dinner cotton trousers, shirt, polo shirts etc, smarter sneakers )

Hope this helps but consider I am a very casually dressed person. I don't do really smart posh clothes if I can help it! Polo shirts and cotton trousers is smart for me lol. Some people really like to dress for dinner what's nice about disney is it's up to you!
