So we went on our DL vacation at the end of last September. Since then things both at home and at work have been a blur of busy and I honestly forgot to come on here and post about it. Here goes (I'll work to keep it brief).
We did park hoppers for Monday to Wednesday. There were Halloween parties Monday and Wednesday. So the park was pretty empty both of those days. Like, we hit all the major rides in DL within the first 2 hours of our day, never waited more than 10 minutes for anything. It was awesome!!
Honestly though the best part is when we got in line to meet Jack Skellington. My favorite movie, in front of Zero's doghouse, my favorite character. My BF tells me he wants to wear a special jacket for the picture. Kind of odd because it's our favorite holiday but NBC isn't his favorite movie like it is mine. He wants to wait in the store to put it on before we walk in to meet Jack. I told him, go talk to the CM and I'm sure they won't mind you joining me (I would be staying in line, of course). So he does. Much gesturing to me. Another CM gets called over. All this over wearing a jacket and meeting me there instead of waiting in line? Um, ok. So they say yes, of course, and he leaves. We're like, the third in line at this point, so it's not like he abandoned me for thirty minutes or anything. And there's only one couple behind us. We got in line just before it closed. So I turn to them and offer to let them go first, because my bf is doing something weird and I wouldn't want to take their time in case whatever he's doing takes a bit. So now I'm last. It's my turn, the CM takes me to the lobby (where the fortune machine is) and CM's kind of block the way behind me, I think just so no one tries to join the closed line. Jack comes over (no Sally this time) and takes me by my hands and leads me in. He starts talking to me about finding love and asking me if I've found someone I wanted to spend my life and afterlife with. I told him yes, but I'm not sure where he went. Jack asks, 'is this the man?' and turns me around to where my bf is standing in a blue velvet prince jacket, holding a custom made cloche with a blue rose in it. He got down on one knee. I'm not going to lie, in my head, as I start crying, I'm thinking, 'you're making me cry in front of Jack! now my pictures with Jack I'm going to have red puffy eyes!' He says words that are just for us. He spins the top of the container to reveal a small opening with a ring on a blue cloth. I think I nodded. I know I motioned for him to stand, so I could hug him. All while the photographer is clicking away. I trade my promise ring for my engagement ring. We get pictures with Jack. CM's give us mardi gras beads and Happily Ever After buttons and we were taken to the Haunted Mansion and sent through the fast pass line. At which point I told him yes. I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't say it at first. I'd add a pic but I honestly don't know how.
The rest of the trip was great. 15 times on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (11 on our last day), definitely my favorite ride. But honestly, it all pales in comparison to getting engaged with Jack Skellington. Oh, and having Chewie do a ritual-type blessing-type thing when he saw we were just engaged. And let me tell you, pictures everywhere with our maxpass photopass benefits. We have the best engagement pictures!!
Now I'm on to planning our honeymoon. We're going to recreate our DL engagement vacation, but in Orlando. I can't wait!
Thank you everyone who is on here sharing experiences and advice. I learned a lot before my trip! And I did make it out with all three glowing apple cubes and a couple weeks later my sister went to DL on vacation and got me the cauldron popcorn bucket that was sold out my whole trip there. Dreams come true!

Congratulations! Disneyland engagements are definitely magical! (Mine happened back in 2013) I'd love to see photos!

From a desktop computer you can click on the "upload a file" button right below the text box (next to post reply). On a mobile device..i'm not sure how exactly to post.

Awwwwww, congratulations on your Happily Ever After! What a great proposal!
