Nineteen days!!

I've had a mediocre miserable summer - starting with my boss denying my vacation request, then a root canal, a knee surgery that didn't fix what we hoped it would and ending with scheduling this other surgery for October. I figured, because of all that, that I deserved a trip to Disney World with one of my very best friends. Luckily, she was agreeable. ;D

Not only that, my OLDEST friend in the whole wide world, who now lives in Tampa, is coming down to spend Friday with us! :yay::yay:

We are 26 days away!! We can't wait, DD5 will make her first trip to WDW.

How busy do you think the parks will be??
We will be there Sept. 24-30th!:woohoo:

10 more days of work in total

1 ultrasound (and we find out the gender )

1 Labor Day party that we are throwing

1 more doc appointment for the baby

Then we leave for WDW!!

23 days left! :cool1:

we are now under the 2 week mark. We are so much Disney Addicts. Ever since the trip was booked. It's been planning, planning, and more planning. We will be at POR from 9-9-09 until 9-18-09.
We always hit DTD for Ghiridella (I know I spelled this wrong). This is a must for our first day. We also hit the Haunted Mansion cause there's always room for one more. We were able to book all our ADR's for the places we wanted.
I am so looking forward to some down time from work. :yay: This year has been just crazy. I am so greatful in this ecomony that our company is actually growing and getting busier all the time. Here is Michigan that is not the story for most people. DH will be glad to have someone help with the kids. He's a stay at home dad :scared , so he needs a much needed vacation too.:laundy: It will be the first trip for our adopted sonDS7. Our DD7 has been to Disney many times as has the adult children. Yep, we are older parents. DH 52:happytv:DW(me) 47:hippie:DD30:teacher:DS24:cool2:DD22:confused3DD20:3dglasses and DD&:cheer2:and DS7pirate:. We are a complete and happy family.
Pixie Dust and good wishes for happy trips to all of you. It's the first time we have gone in September. We will be going to MNSSHP. We are usually there at Christmas time. So it will be different, but with the free dining how can you pass it up?
Pixie Dust and good wishes for happy trips to all of you.

Good luck with the surgery! I'm hoping to avoid that, hence the physical therapy on my shoulder. Hopefully Dr. L will say it's working, no need to operate! (Kinda concerned about the trip though ... how am I going to carry my packages after a day of shopping at DTD???:rolleyes1)
My YEAR has been mediocre miserable. Our 28 year old son-in-law passed away in March after an 18 month illness leaving our 26 year old DD a widow. I've also had employment problems; DH's job as an elected county official has certainly been stressful in this economy; son-in-laws medical bills have put DD in horrible financial shape (no life insurance...young people don't think they need it!!!) and we're helping her out; MY best friend had to move 1 1/2 hours away for a new job, etc. Not a fun year. But - ya know what - God gives no one more than they can handle. With the help of our other DD, DSIL and 2 fantastic DGD's:hug:; extended family :lovestruc... and a local BANKER  ... we're managing! We're leaving our problems behind for a few days of mindless FUN. No thinking, no worrying, no problems ... just THE MOUSE and 7 & 3 year old DGD's. Can't wait!:yay::yay::yay::tink:

PS Where are you staying? We'll be at the Villas WL with DD and her family.

Congrats on the little one! My niece (in-law) will find out the gender of her little one while we're on our trip. Told her she needed to call and let us know so we can start buying "Mickey/Minnie stuff" for him/her! She and nephew will be at DW the last week of the year (and 7 months pregnant ) for other nephew's wedding on New Years Eve at the Wedding Chapel. (Of course, the wedding location was decided AFTER we'd booked our Sept. visit! Can't afford TWO trips for the year so I told him he was "out of the will" for doing that to me:lmao:!) Hope all goes well for you. Enjoy your trip :wave2:! :tink:

Bonnie - You are indeed fortunate to be in a business that is growing in this economy, especially in Michigan. I understand things are pretty rough up there. We've been fairly fortunate in Texas but DSIL did loose a very lucrative job due to the economy. He's been able to start his own business and is doing well. We're hoping it continuespixiedust:!
You will have so much fun at MNSSHP! We attended last year and will be doing so again this trip. I went as a "flapper"; DH as a "gangster":lmao:! He's a politician and the CM's thought that was hilarious:rotfl2:. DD was a "Goddess"; DSIL a pirate (pretty handsome one, if I must say so:cool1:!); 6 yr. old DGD was Tinkerbell and 2 yr. old DGD was SUPPOSE to be Minnie but she refused to put the costume on so she just went as "an adorable little girl"! One of DD's high school classmates and her family were there also and we had the best time. A memory the 5 children will never forget!

If you wouldn't mind, after your trip, would you let me know travel times from POR? As I stated in a previous post, my nephew is getting married at WDW on New Year's Eve and the group will be staying at POFQ. We've never stayed at either and my sister would love to know approximate travel times to the Magic Kingdom. I know during that week the crowds are awful so travel times will probably be a little longer, but they'd like some idea for planning purposes. The rehearsal dinner will be at the Poly and the wedding is at the GF Wedding Chapel. The family being "left behind" is also planning to have the Disney Florist decorate the newlyweds room while they're being married and we'd like a little timetable to go by too. We'd appreciate any help you could give us. Thanks a bunch and enjoy your trip!:wave2: :tink:

ONE WEEK from today! I hate to wish my life away but it can't come soon enough for me! :goodvibes

29 days seems so far away, at Wilderness Lodge we will stay. 1 Labor Day BBQ, 2 birthday parties, Pirates of the Carribean, we're comin' me hearties!

Yeah, we've done everything we can to avoid surgery... heck, I got 4 more years out of it! I've had injections, physical therapy, braces built, and yet another minor surgery but I still hurt!

My friend and I are staying at POR. I'd stay in a value to get to Disney! ;)

TEN DAYS TO GO!
:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::dance3::dance3:

On-line checkin, here I come!

Eee! let me know how that worked out!! Were you able to put in requests? My TA put in the ground floor one for me, but I figured I ought to restate it. I still have 8 days before my online check in.

THANKS for the hug. We've needed, and received, a lot of those this year and every one is special!:goodvibes
Am I doing my math right? You'll be arriving on Thursday, Sept. 17? That's my "ME" day :yay: ! I will wake up early for sunrise pictures; have an 8 AM massage scheduled at WL Health Club; have breakfast reserverations at Kona at 10:15 for Macademia Pineapple pancakes :worship: and then will go to Downtown Disney for my regular "Christmas shopping trip". If I'm lucky I can get all of that shopping done in one afternoon :woohoo:! Can't wait to get to Ghirardelli! You'll be close at POR; come on over to DTD and look for the loaded down shopper with a hurt right shoulder enjoying a cool drink from Ghirardelli! :tink:

Yep! I'm arriving but around 9pm, alas. I couldn't get my friend to go out any earlier. ;(

Worked out fine. No issues at all and got my e-mail confirmation 30 minutes later. There were only 2 choices available: Ground floor and Near Transportation. I don't know if those will be the ones available for you for a moderate, but I can't imagine it would be too much different.

Oh, and

Single Digit Dance Time!!
