I haven't had time to catch up and "meet" all of you yet, but my DH and I are going Sept 20-26 and staying at AKV! We can't wait!!!

I just saw this.

The Nights of Joy going on September 11-12. It is a hard ticket event at DHS.

Disney’s Night of Joy features contemporary Christian performers. The Star-studded lineup is always outstanding and features a host of Dove Awards and Grammy Awards.

This event takes place at Disney's Hollywood Studios from 7:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. (after the park closed.) Popular attractions remained open for event attendees.

Tickets on sale March 1, 2009:

Advance Sales Price:
$44.95 - 1 Night

$75.95 - 2 Night

Day of Sale Price:
$49.95 (if available)

We will be at Disney both these nights, so I guess we will be avoiding DHS these days!!

We just changed our travel dates to Sept. 3-8th! My daughter and I are very excited.

:)

I'm thinking about going the same time with my DD (11). I was nervous about the crowd levels but I really want to do the MNSSHP again with her! :goodvibes You're going to have such a great, great time with her. It's a wonderful age to hang out. I love it.

We just booked at AKL our annual September trip. This year from the 18th - 27th. We'll be celebrating my birthday, and hopefully the completion of my PhD!!! :thumbsup2

I can't wait!! Hoping for free dining...we could kick ourselves for not booking bounceback last year!

How's everyone doing? How's the planning going?

I have started to make a list of all the restaurants we want to eat at. I also want to go to a MNSSHP. We have never been to one of these parties, and I think it would be lots of fun. Anyone else planning on going to a MNSSHP.

This will be our first time going in September. Does anyone who has gone before in September have any advice to give??

Be prepared for the possibility of extreme heat (2 Septembers ago, it was like 95 degrees and 100% humidity all week) and love bugs (little black bugs who fly around, usually in "pairs" or land on benches or white clothes). In terms of the heat, plan on getting to the parks early, taking a break midday to go back to your resort to swim, rest, cool off, then go back in the evening. The bugs are harmless to you...they don't bite, but they can mess up the paint job on your car, I've heard...but they can get a bit bothersome (we didn't have any 2 Septembers ago, but did see them for a day or two this past September). All in all, though, September is a great time to go, as the lines for many of the attractions are a lot shorter (5 minute or less wait for Aladdin's carpets) and there are a lot less people. There will still be lines for the more popular rides (Soarin', Peter Pan, etc), but not nearly as bad as in the summer or during holidays. Have a great time! We'll be there, too, for our 3rd September in a row!

We were there that September, too, late in the month and didnt' see the love bugs until the last couple of days of our trip. They are annoying!! But we didn't seem to be bothered by them at the parks, just waiting for the bus at the resort, for some reason? Let's hope this is an off year!! :rotfl: It was HOT that year, I some how managed to lose 4 lbs. and did nothing but eat that whole week! But between all the walking, carrying my infant on me, it worked!! Who loses weight on vacation!! LOL!! Have fun...you'll love September!!!:goodvibes

We'll be there September 2nd-16th!
My girlfriend is refusing to let me manically plan yet, but I'm choosing to ignore her even though I have a lot of work to do for my exams :p :sad2:
She's never been before so I just want to make sure she has the best time!
I've only been in July/August so I'm looking forward to the parks being a little bit quieter than I'm used to, and hopefully I won't have to tour them in such a militant manner this time :rotfl:

Busy planning here too! Don't you just love the anticipation of a Disney vacation? I'm kind of bummed that ADRs moved to 90 days though, because I'd be approaching 180 days in only 2 weeks. Guess that gives me 3 more months to obsess over our table service selections.:rotfl:

In 2006 and 2007 our trips to the World were at the end of September. As PP said, very hot!:sunny: But very low crowds!:woohoo:
In 2008 our trip was in early December - to experience the Christmas decor.:santa: It was very cold! And very crowded! :crowded:

Compared to December, I'll take September ANYTIME! The heat just gives us an excuse to enjoy the pool back at our resort!:beach:

I understand how you feel about ADRs. I would be making mine on the 14th. But it does give us more time to obsess. :)

I also agree about going to experience the Christmas decorations. We went in the middle of November last year, but it was so cold that we didn't enjoy it as much. Some nights it was in the low 40's.

The kids didn't want Mickey Ice Cream bars because they were too cold to eat ice cream, and it was too cold to swim.

I have heard that September is hot, and we have gone to Disney in June, July, and August, so we don't mind the heat at all. I love it!!!

We want to swim lots and go to the water parks. I am also looking forward to not wearing jeans, sweatshirts, and hats for the kids.

We are going Sept 26th through Oct 4th. Our little girl will turn 5 on our trip and she is so excited. Every time we see a Disney ad she starts screaming. We tell her if her room is not picked up we are not going. Her room has never been cleaner. By the way how do I get one of those cool trip timers everyone has? I really want one of those.

Our Family will be going Sept.13th for 7 days ,this will be our sons(age2) first time ,the last trip 2 years ago was with our girls who were 1 1/2 and 4 what a great time .The first day we got there we came in early so we figured to go right to MK and as soon as we walked in we hit the parade .I will never forget the look on my girls faces it actually brought tears to my eyes (good thing for sunglasses) they were amazed. That is one great feeling from a father .This trip I hope can only go just as good . This will be our 8th trip but only 2nd with kids cant wait :woohoo: :woohoo:
