Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Timmie, I can think of many adjectives to describe you but 'docile' would not be one of them.:lmao: Fifty pages? Ummm, that should get us through this week and then we shall just have endless sequels. :thumbsup2

Ang, "older and wiser" than I am? Can I think that one over a bit and decide if I am flattered, insulted or both? :rotfl: My grandsons were hoping to meet Will because I had told them so much about him that they were a bit more than jealous. I had a very bad room experience last time also. It was over the top for me and I am very forgiving. Glad I did not complain now that I have heard your story though.

I am going to go lay down awhile. I have just realized that I have been married longer than any of you guys have been alive.:scared1:

SG

work has been good to me today... I pigged out for one and did not pay attention with my banana diet (Sorry TBird I fell off the track.. I am not looking forward in weighing tomorrow.. I am skipping weigh in Monday... ) but the Sesama Shrimp was divine!!! I ate about 8 shrimp and lots of brocolli and onion and baby carrots I did skip the rice for feel good purposes:rotfl:

SG as I get older  and leary... I had learn to be "docile" at times.. and it had work to my advantage!!! I am trying to reinvent my whole persona :rolleyes1 and I am almost done too I might add pirate:

Ok back to work I go.. I have 4 more hours to kill... go home.. nap and meet Todd and Cheryl in the AM...

Linda--lol on the "husband swap," and oh how I wish dh had a brother (or even another wife--polygamy is sounding better and better all the time!) to take care of him for a few days here and there. He's a great guy, but I'm not sure I was wired to be with anyone all day, every day. On the plus side, my morning runs keep getting longer and I keep getting thinner! :thumbsup2

Ang--I'm almost the same age as you and JM. To paraphrase Skippyjon Jones, I'm the "oldest of the young ones," lol. Someday I've got to hear your story about mousekeeping from your last trip. Not just before I go, though. :scared1: Some things are better left unknown.

Kris--I was born in '68, so speak loudly when we hang out at Petals next week.

Timmy--The heck with the bananas anyway--I'd rather splurge and hang out with DIS peeps anytime. :woohoo:

Trying to head out tomorrow for one last camping trip before the end of summer. Talk to you all soon!

Good Morning, Poppers!

Wanted to take a minute to skim/ctach up with posts, but will write more later.

My friend has been visiting from Boston and we've been going, going, going...had a very nice visit out to the mountains for a couple of days. She leaves today, so I'll be back to catch up on the goings on around here. :goodvibes

I did catch the age theme though...;)...the only claim I have is that yep, I am eldest of the Poppers in age, but certainly not wisdom, but am sooo young at heart, of course!! I have just a bit on SG in the age category, but it doesn't count for much - other than I can get my teeny Social Security sooner!! :yay:

Have a great Monday!

!

yes Tb1... skipped the banana diet today and enjoyed a nice day with Todd and Cheryl in the city... Thank God for Todd's sense of direction or I would have been so lost. I hope they had fun as much as I did... it is nice to see things with friends... By now they have been on the air for about an hour... we went our separate ways around 3Pm.. off they go to PHL and me to work...

Hi everyone!

SG, that's a cute story about DGS taking that nap. I know it was probably a little scary at first, but cute. My Dad saw a little one at their convention that was just walking along when she stopped, laid down and went to sleep. Several people thought something was wrong with her, but Mom said she just drops like that.

Ok, DH flys out at 5:30 on Friday. He thought I would be upset about the traffic, but we can get through it. He is so silly at times.

As far as things changing at WDW, I wonder if we go so much that we notice more of the bad. I took my folks over to DTD and then a boat ride to POR and back. The CM looked at me really strangely when we didn't get off the boat. I told him I was showing the folks POR. They really enjoyed it though and said they saw a lot they never would have. They hope to be back soon, did one of those timeshare things where you get a 4 day trip after sitting for 1 1/2 hours.

Target had the DS's on sale this week so I went ahead and replaced Jacob's. I don't think he would have left the thing on the bus if he had been on the full dose of medication. He didn't want the DSi because he can't play his Gameboy games on it. Also bought the boy shoes. I guess we can call them mid-grade. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. :scared1:

Hope you all have a great week!

Jonas came home tonight and said he will be leaving for two weeks to Afghanistan next Friday. Love those short notices. Hopefully it is just 2 weeks. He is sort of excited since he has never been there before. Don't know what I will do with him.

Oh, and the good new is Jonas' Mother and her boyfried will be here while he is gone unless she changes her mind since he will be gone. Sounded like she mentioned Labor Day but Jonas mentioned we were going to MNSSHP that weekend.

Melissa, I just saw this when catching up on posts - for some reason have not been getting FB updates. Will be thinking of you all and holding Jonas very near in prayer.

I hope your MIL does still come while Jonas is away ~ I'd think it would be so much easier to have them around and keep busy.

Timmy,
You do realize that shrimp have less calories in them than a bannana don't you? As for sesame chicken if you avoided the rice and only ate 8 shrimp you probably took in the calories of 2 or 3 bananas. The ultimate thing in diets is the amount of calories input so you will be fine. You ate lots of good fiber in the veges and shrimp is a great low calorie source of protien.

Glad to hear Cheryl and Todd are safely on their way home and that you got to spend some time with them.

Linda,
My age comment was said in love not jest so you can take it as a compliment as you look younger than your true age as well it is just that you think younger still.

M&N,
Glad to hear you are enjoying time with your friend. Have fun and don't worry about us we will still be here when your done having fun.

TB,
So your only a year older and already hard of hearing. lol As for my experience I will just give you the advice of don't snitch on the maid if she doesn't do her job just deal with it and you will be ok. lol

JM,
I saw the DS on sale at Target and was going to mention it but you already got it. lol I didn't realise the new DSi doesn't play the gameboy game. That stinks.

I am glad to hear that your parents had fun at Disney. I do think you are right in that when you go more often you notice the changes and the flaws easier than those who are seeing it with fresh eyes.

So sad DH will miss your MNSSHP night. Maybe you can bring a friend and go again when he comes back. May he have a safe trip and come back soon.

Ang

Melissa,
I forgot to add that I got an invitation to the mom's club special party and viewing of Illuminations on 8/23 if you didn't get one and want to go PM me and I will email you the link to sign up.

Ang

Wait, I just realized I think some of you on this list will be at Disney World on 8/23 too so if anyone wants a link to the invite for the Mom's club party let me know.

I want more sesame shrimp

Ang, I would love to go, but I think the DMIL will be here and won't want to go.:sad2: Also, Jonas should be home for MNSSHP, should be home early that week.

Ok, so Bubblegum was outside barking. So I go check on her and see what looks like a snake poking its head up. Got her in the house and got the camera. It wasn't a snake....

It's a monitor lizard. I :scared1: out. Went out later after multiple calls to the DH and can't find it. Had on my cowboy boots and carried a long piece of PVC pipe banging around on bushes just in case So I guess he has moved on. Just another day in Florida.

OMG, Melissa!!! It seems some days you can hardly open your door without a surprise visitor!! :faint:

After all the creepy crawlies you've encountered I have made an announcement that I'd rather we not move to the Tampa area! (Of course, this will mean nothing should my SIL be offfered a position there.)

What happened to that thing? Is it still in your yeard? Must have been someone's pet who got too big and so it was let lose. Poor thing...still, would not want it in my yard!

By the way, have been meaning to ask - have you seen any snakes lately??

M&N no haven't seen any snakes lately. I thought this was a snake until I realized it had legs. That's when I went and grabbed the camera. It finally made its way out of the yard and I don't know what happened to it. I was going to finish my yard work today, but I think tomorrow sounds like a better day. Or else I'll be out there jumping around every time a twig moves.:lmao:

I have a moderate case of the creepy crud today. Makes every movement painful and I am going mighty slow. When it is really bad my hair hurts and thus far I have been spared that. Nobody knows what causes this but since I have had it for about 20 years and not dropped dead yet it must not be terminal. Just a pain. :goodvibes

Melissa, my grandson was just telling me that he wanted a pet. Bet he would love your visitor. Yet another reason why I could not move to Florida with Tom. He freaks out over a spider. Do you get alligators in your area? Now that is something I could prefer not to run into.

Ang, I get such fun from tweaking you. :rotfl: There are folks that you KNOW do not mean ill and you are one of those. If you ever said anything over the top I would know that there would be a big old grin on your face as you were typing. Me too.

M&N, any new plans for an upcoming Disney trip??? I have missed seeing you in here for a bit. Have you been to Savannah yet? Pictures would be most welcome when and if.

Timmie, please do a search on "Dottie" and find the best Weight Watcher's site ever. She has WW info, menus, recipes and even points for restaurant meals. Shrimp is very low in calories but watch out for that shrimp sauce. I take a package of mixed veggies and mix in the shrimp. I like volume.

SG

pixiedust: to you getting to feeling better SG. I'm still not 100% myself, but too much to do.

If your DGS wants my visitor, he can surely have him. I'm worried about how big he will get. Already big enough to cause a lot of harm to my little Constanze and one of us. Jacob was under orders not to go in the yard yesterday. Even though he thought it was cool. My DBIL called me to make sure I keep the dogs away because they are very aggressive, but this one must have been a pet because he really wanted out of my yard. Of course, Bubblegum is very, very loud.

Melissa,
Glad to hear Jonas will be back before the party.

What a cute lizard but not one I would want to mess with. Funny how DH's are never home when that type of thing happens. Although my DH would send me out to deal with it while he hid. He does spiders and I do the slimy things like frogs and such.

My DB used to have monitor lizards and I liked them from afar. He named them Bevis and Butthead and one of them jumped on our turkey at Thanksgiving one year and had himself a feast at the families expense. lol I have a really strange family. I gave my mother a bullfrog I caught while out fishing for Mother's Day one year.

I did almost buy myself a madagascar chameleon one time though. He was too cute but I feel those type of things are better left in the wild and should not be pets.

I fear if I lived in Florida I would get myself in trouble just from curiousity and lack of fear. Now had I seen that spider you had in the house I would have died of a heart attack though. I fear you get all the wildlife because of the preserve behind your home.
Glad he went back to where he belongs.

SG,
I hope you feel better tomorrow it stinks feeling icky. Could what you have be caused by the Lupus? They really need to do more research into that.

See you know me well in that most of what I say and write is said with a smile on my face. Poor Will rarely knows when to take me serious which is not a good thing.

Take care.

Ang

Linda, I am so sorry you're under the weather today ~ but at least your hair doesn't hurt. I have the same thing with the MS now and then. Hope you are feeling better as the day goes on. Very gentle

No plans for December...you know me...not one to do the parks solo...and Mia would need to do some creative moving around of the days off she has left...so maybe next year. :)

I started this post about 45 mins ago, but then needed to rock Sophia to sleep. I should post a new photo of her..she will be a yr old September 2nd!! Where does the time go?

We decided Savannah was going to be too hot, so we headed to the mountains for an overnight in Waynesville in the Maggie Valley area, then then next day drove up to Blowing Rock, NC along the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping to see Linville Falls (not worth the hot walk down and back up the gravel path lol). Beautiful! I'd been to Blowing Rock last Fall for peak color, but wanted Lynne to see it too - almost as pretty in the summer.

We stayed at a lovely b&B - it was unique in that it was a ranch style rather than a Victorian. We would have loved an old Victorian, but no complaints about no stairs...and a lovely patio overlooking the mountains...we had our breakfast out there. Not one photo!!! we laughed that we were so relaxed we forgot to take pictures. :rotfl: Even though it was an overnight, we felt we'd been away longer. Oh, and the day before we left we fit in an movie and 2 more when we got back! ::yes:: We saw "Up' (absolutely delightful), Julie and Julia (very much liked it but kept wishing the movie was more of a bio of Julia Child) and...what was the other one...oh, (500) Days of Summer. All worth seeing. :thumbsup2

We really had a wonderful visit and managed to squeeze in a couple of days trip as well - one with Mia and Sophia to meet a friend of Lynne's from her college days. :goodvibes

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. Back to school time...sigh... what memories.

(sorry this was so long)
