I was under the impression that the new 15 month passes will not be in effect till the begining of August I think the 2nd or so. They were to change when they start charging more for tickets. I also heard that AP's will cost like $20 more then as well.

As for the higher prices on weekends I got caught in that one in May-June when they had the 7 for 4. They charged me for two weekend days at the higher price as well as two week days at the lower price despite the fact that my reservations started on Mondays so the first 4 days were weekdays at the lower cost. Does that make sense? I guess it is a way for them to get more money and still make you feel like you are getting an awsome deal?

On the photopass question I think most CM's dont really care if you want to get more pics on the photopass but I would fear you might get one of those that act like it is coming out of their pockets personally and might not like hearing the second reason. I would simply ask for an extension so you can have a bit more time to fix your pictures in the system. HTH

From what I read this only applies to after the price hike. So those of us who renewed before the hike ( like me) don't get the extra time.

Thank you for your anniversary wishes. We've been married 13 years. It was a quiet day, nothing special but we are very blessed!

Speaking of annual passes...does anybody know anything about upgrading to an annual pass when you have a package??? (We did it before but didn't have a package.) DH just mentioned the possibility of DS and I getting annual passes so we could go with Mary and her girls at Thanksgiving and spring break (the kids are off a week at each.)

Hey all! Made it back from Crater Lake, which was a lot of fun. Kids did the junior ranger program (an actual, educational experience--that they liked! ), we played a lot of board games (no tv's or telephones in the nearly 100 year old lodge ), and saw 2 really cool thunderstorms (they count for evening entertainment when there's no tv ).

And let me add another celebration day to Melissa's birthday (happy belated birthday!) and Kris's anniversary (happy belated anniversary!)--today is my ds's birthday. Which reminds me--better go change my signature line. And then get caught up on all the goings on around here.

Ang, I had the same worries as you about the photopass being extended. They only gave me 10 more days, so I guess I won't get Labor Day weekend on it. Guess I should be happy, I have that day at Typhoon Lagoon with you and Will, some SWW pics, our week in July and some others in there. Even got one with my Dad and Stepmom this past weekend, so I am not complaining.

I'm going to ask about the AP because what I heard is that if you bought early, but your renewal date is after the announcement they would still give it. Might try swinging by there tomorrow since I'll be in Orlando anyways.

Had a friend request and couldn't think of who it was. Finally realized it is someone I worked with when we lived in SC. I was her co-worker and then her boss right before I left. I never thought she liked me.

Does he realize it cost more to stay at Disney during those times. lol As for upgrading just make sure you use your pass to get into the park before you upgrade it to and AP. This way you get the current price for your ticket which should be a little bit more than what you paid. HTH

I get updates to my email address and link from there so no searching pages for me. I just wish they send updates more regularly because there are times they send none.

Glad you got a lot of pictures on your card. I never did buy ours from TL and that was the only one we took too.

I still don't fully get FB but I try to get on there every few days or so.

Ang, I had hoped to get a pic of Will for you on the family raft ride, but the CM was having issues with the camera when we got off.

And good reminder about using your ticket before upgrading to AP. I forgot about that.

And TB, the lodge sounded really nice. We stayed at one without TV's one time, but didn't have the kiddo with us. I was surprised I survived. You had some beautiful scenery. Could you see lightning from those storms reflecting off the lake?

Sorry I am leaving for a mini vacation tomorrow morning. I am trying to get everything finished and packed. I saw a Treehouse villa last weekend - it was beautiful!

Yes, it was cool of DH to mention upgrading to annual passes (it was our anniversary when he said it! ) Anyway, we'll check into it while we are there but not holding my breath...we decided to to the southwest/Grand Canyon area over Thanksgiving (DS is off the whole week!) Going to PA for Christmas. Washington DC/Williamsburg next summer...I'll keep you posted

Your DH sounds sweet like my DH since that sounds like something he would say offer on our anniversary. Sometimes DH's can be so sweet. We will be celebrating 14 years this year so it sounds like we got married around the time you and your DH got married. Sept 16, 1995 is our date.

Sounds like you have lots of great destinations planned for next year. I am crossing my fingers that our business picks up for next year so that we can go on vacation. If we do we want to do a west coast trip stopping at Diamond mines in AR for DH, Roswell NM for DS since he loves aliens, and the grand canyon and Disneyland for me. I would also love to go back to NH and the beaches there which we used to do yearly before we started doing Disney twice a year.

I want to go back to doing educational trips each year.

Ang and Kris, so funny, we were also married 14 years. July 29th, 1995 here. I have posted this on FB, but thought I would come over here. Jonas came home tonight and said he will be leaving for two weeks to Afghanistan next Friday. Love those short notices. Hopefully it is just 2 weeks. He is sort of excited since he has never been there before. Don't know what I will do with him.

Oh, and the good new is Jonas' Mother and her boyfried will be here while he is gone unless she changes her mind since he will be gone. Sounded like she mentioned Labor Day but Jonas mentioned we were going to MNSSHP that weekend.

I am not up on all that everyone writes on FB so I am glad you posted here. I am sorry to hear about DH leaving on such short notice. I just saw a story about afganistan on the news tonight. Does that mean that he will not be here for your MNSSHP night?

Thanks for saying I look young Ang. I sure don't feel that way. My Mom is 60 and digs ditches for pipes and retaining walls around her house and I can't even get the yard mowed.

Right now he is scheduled to be home the week of MNSSHP, but he told me that if he doesn't make it back in time we should still go. I was actually considering going for a night, just me and Jacob while he is gone, but with the DMIL coming, don't think we will have time.

Ang--Fortunately the kids had their dsi's to keep them somewhat entertained. And I went for a run every morning and had wine every evening, so that made the slow times less boring, lol. Your West Coast plans sound like fun, and dh lived in NH for 3 years while he was in school! I don't much understand FB most of the time either. I can post comments and photos, but when I try to do anything else I get completely confused and give up. It's still fun to keep up with people and reconnect with old friends.

JM--Dh (who hogged the best window) actually saw lightning strike the lake a few times! There were over 200 strikes the first night, which left 7 fires burning the next day. The rangers monitor it pretty closely, and several of the trails were closed due to the fires. The guys that run the boat tours actually got stuck down at the boat launch when fire engulfed their trail. They had to spend the night down there waiting for the firefighters to give them the all clear to use the trail again. I don't know if they had any food or shelter or anything--that's a little too much "roughing it" for me. Sorry to hear about dh's trip, but at least he's excited about it. Hopefully he'll be back in time for MNSSHP.

It was awfully sweet of dh to suggest upgrading to AP's, but I wouldn't do it if I were you, especially if you're doing it to plan more trips with Diva Mary. You have so many other plans for the next year, I'm just not sure you'd get enough use out of them. That's my $.02--take it for what it's worth.

I am guessing that I am nearly the oldest of us all. I am about the age of JM's mom and I am not digging any ditches anymore. Had to have my little grandson close the basement door for me the other day. I have to agree with Ang, who also does not look OR act her age, that you do not look your age at all. I am always struck by your picture as you are also so very pretty. I am sorry that your hubby has to go away but hopefully he will be back in the promised time and enjoy the tour. My nephew has a lot of good to say about the area and I am guessing that he and your husband do about the same kind of duty. BTW, I think it wrong that the powers that be do not keep their time table for deployments and such. It has to be very hard on the families involved.

Ang, I hope all your plans come to fruition but it is a bit worrisome that you do not seem as in love with Disney as you once were. It does not bode well for the franchise. I have been thinking of you all day and ruminating on ways that your hubby could increase his income without also increasing the miles away from home but I am not that knowledgeable about such matters. I wish I were.

TB, if I drank wine at night there is no earthly way that I could run the next day. FB scares me as I cannot figure out who can see what. Have to be careful as I have in laws and personal friends on there. My bestest friend just friended me today. She might drop me tomorrow when she finds out that I know and helped organize a Surprise BD party for her tomorrow. I told her daughter that she would hate the idea. She is a very private person. Been having a hoot asking what her family did for her major BD knowing that it is to come though. I am so evil!

Met bil for lunch and to do the husband swap thing. Tom decided to start complaining about me. It stopped when he figured out that he had nothing to complain about. While he is sitting at the Senior Center every morning I am home, cooking, doing laundry etc, mowing the yard etc. etc. Granted I no longer do as much as I used to cause I am OLD!!

I have a gallon of blackberries all washed and chilling waiting for a certain small boy to come and help me eat. His dad had called her in a panic because he could not find him and thought he might have left the church and came over here. Dgs had crawled up into the choir loft and fell asleep.

Big grandson is working at the State Fair for the next couple of weeks and in between milkings he is getting a lot of sleep. Since he is being paid by the hour it is a pretty cushy job. He calls and gives me updates. Think the economy is hitting him now cause he says he is eating the free food and has no intentions of spending HIS money.

With a name like Slightly Goofy you can't say you act your age either. lol I love you for it too. It's important to stay slightly goofy so you can laugh when life throws you curve balls. You always write like you are older and wiser than you are.

No fear when Disney starts caring about their castmembers and guests again I will be back. I am hoping that will happen once the economy gets better. I need something new anyway so that when I go back it's fresh and new. I also learned from this trip that if you get a nasty, dirty maid ask for another room instead of a new maid or you might not like what she leaves you when she finds out. lol That's what I get for taking the easy way out instead of packing back up.

Glad you got some time off for yourself. Tell Tom that if he is nice to you I will bring Al back to keep him company sometime in the future. lol Al got a kick out of his stories.

Your grandson sounds like a good kid. Wish we could have met him because I bet him and Will would have hit it off.

Bringing the Nintendo DS can be a lifesaver in a boring moment. I wonder what we did as kids. We probably just tortured one another in boring situations while our mother distanced herself from us. lol

1995 was a very good year wasn't it. I had two other friends get married that same year and we are all still married too. I think you might be the same age as Melissa and I too.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's nice and hot here and I am loving it. It's 85 right now and expected to hit 96. We keep breaking record colds and had the coldest July ever in history this year so the heat is a welcome change for me. Not so much for DH who likes the cold.

Happy Sunday... It was raining this morning so hard that going to work was like being in submarine... I thought I was floating...

I briefly met Todd and Cheryl Friday one their way out of the gate at the airport.. I am hoping to see them Monday/tomorrow before they fly out of PHL in the afternoon...

Nothing much to report.. just trying to stay docile while the temp go up...

Ang, "older and wiser" than I am? Can I think that one over a bit and decide if I am flattered, insulted or both? My grandsons were hoping to meet Will because I had told them so much about him that they were a bit more than jealous. I had a very bad room experience last time also. It was over the top for me and I am very forgiving. Glad I did not complain now that I have heard your story though.
