Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Becca,
Welcome, you found the crazies alright. lol Your welcome to wait it out here with us. Sadly, unless you extend your trip I won't get to meet you as I will not be in Disney till 10/1. That is unless you have a June trip planned too.

SG,
I am losing it because I don't remember PM'ing you. I do however want to know more about the crazy DIL.

M&N,
I wonder if Timmy is going to NC to meet you or if she is just waving from the plane.

Timmy,
Be safe.

Ang

Becca, Welcome and yes, we are all crazy.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I had to get away and went to Epcot today. The F&G Festival is fantastic. I got a little sunburn. Beautiful day. There was a breeze but at times it felt really good. Did the Kim Possible Mission for Japan and Norway. Rode Mission: Space. I told Jacob that I had been to Epcot twice this week and only rode two rides. :confused3 Sad to say I didn't get to meet Timmy.

Got up this morning to make ADR's for our July trip, but since we are staying at SoG you don't get the 10 day window. I think my BFF is now making them. She called while we were at Epcot to ask which ones I had made. It was a simple answer, none! :rotfl:

The DH is now stuck in DC until Thursday. We now know we have to put Mozart down and are trying to figure all this out. We are suppose to go to Cocoa Beach this weekend. Debating whether to still make the trip. The hotel allows pets, so I thought we could take him with us and still put the other two in the kennel. Or, I guess we could put the Boxer in the kennel and take the two Bostons that have been together for 11 years. DH doesn't want to put the dog down and then go out of town. I personally think it would be good to get away as a family. We have a few days to figure it out. Boy do I sound confused. Its going to be a long week.

Tink, you are most welcome and I am looking forward to knowing you better, even though I am very jealous cause the Tag Fairy found you after so few posts and I have yet to be honored. Might be because I am the only one of the group that is NOT crazy though:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:.

You might want to be a tad bit careful with your words though. "Hang' is probably not the best choice because there are a few around here who I fear might meet such a nefarious end, and deservedly so. pirate:

Gotta go rest. Just had a three hour plus phone conversation and then nearly another hour. Phone is stuck to my head, yardwork is not done, not that I care.:cloud9:

SG

Melissa,
So sorry to hear about your beloved dog and that your DH is not getting home to be there with you and Jacob. If it helps I think I would take the sick dog on vacation to give me a little extra time with him where he doesn't have to share the attention of the other dogs.

Timmy just texted me from Epcot sorry to hear you missed her.

Angela

SG,
How sad that to have a phone stuck to your head. Maybe you can make that into a new fashion statement. lol

Melissa, I somehow missed your message. I am so sorry that things are not going right for you. I like Ang's advice, but then I usually do. It must be a very frustrating time for you all and especially when you care so very much. One always second guesses themselves but I know you will do what you should. It is not easy though.

Ang, it was not the phone stuck to my head that was so problematic as much as the posterior stuck to the couch. :rotfl:

SG

JM, it is not our faults. The fault, dear Brutus, lies in the stars. A combination of inertia and gravity is more than us poor humans can withstand. :rotfl:

Going to dismantle an old CPU today so that I can learn more about computers. I like to break things. It is so much easier and fun than repairing them. :woohoo:

SG

Have fun SG.

My plan today is to get Jacob's rooms clean. Waiting on his medicine to take effect so we can tolerate each other a little better.

Happy Sunday everyone! Been reading but not posting--I'm just not quick enough to keep up with you all, particularly when your posteriors are stuck to your couches. :rotfl2: It didn't help that our weather finally took a turn for the better, so we've been outside a lot (although, like Linda, not doing the yardwork that is so desperately needed).

So here's my super-fast hello--anyone I've forgotten, it's not you, it's me (and my rapidly diminishing brain cells):

Timmy--belated goodbye, and hope you're having a ball!

JM-- for poor Mozart, but I know he's had a good life with you. One of my girlfriends pampers her dogs so that her dh says when he goes, he wants to come back as one of her dogs so he can finally get some attention. 2 days at Epcot and only 2 rides? Must be spring break!

Ang--sorry about the darned refi mess. We've already talked to our bank, and have basically been told they won't consider anyone who isn't behind on their payments. :confused3

JM and Ang--my ds is my skinny kid. When he sucks in his gut, it majorly creeps out his sister. Not as much as a boy in her class, though; when he sucks it in, you can see his spine! :scared1: So, of course, he delights in doing this as often as possible. :rotfl:

M&N--love baby Sophia's Easter pic! It's almost enough to make me want another. . . almost. ;)

Welcome TinkandAriel--we love Pop, too! And are also not so patiently enduring the long wait to make ADR's (where's the clock-watching smiley?).

SG-- for your dil situation, and hoping you aren't letting it keep you up at night. That should be reserved for late night parties at WDW! Don't worry about that yard work, either--it will still be waiting for you whenever you get around to it, just like mine.

DivaK--glad you had fun with DM and the gang, sorry about the allergies (we're struggling with them here, too ), and only a few more months before we're relaxing with a margarita together at Petal's poolside bar! :beach:

As for us, aside from getting outside for a bit (it's supposed to be nearly 80 degrees tomorrow--look out lawn, here I come!), ds had a dental appt (his first fillings, and he had to be sedated (also a first), so I was a nervous wreck). Of course he did great, but then one of dd's wires came loose on her braces, so we had to make an emergency visit to the ortho. In and out in 5 minutes, but the drama of the situation lasted for much longer.

Dh has one week left in the office, then 5 weeks paid where he's supposed to try to find another job within the company, then he's officially unemployed. Anyone know if government cheese is low carb? J/K--we've had lots of time to prepare, and dh has been ready for a change for a long time anyway. Besides, we've been through lots of upheaval before, and have always ended up in a better place, so I believe everything will work out for the better. :hippie: Have a great week everyone!

Sorry if this is OFF TOPIC but gotta get it out .....
the weekend became a big blur of things to do....
First it started with Friday about 5 my poor mother calls from the side of the rode broke down... my step-dad is about hr and 1/2 away and can't help her everyone else didn't answer so she called my DH <mechanic of course she calls him last granted we did have our DD and D Nephew(1)> but still we surely would go and help her.... We get to her and with in 3 mins of looking and listen and trying to crawl under the truck on the road my DH knows whats wrong and so we push my mother's truck safely off the road to a parking lot.... The diagnose is not great but not horrible DH can fix it but not in the Walgreen's Parking Lot at 730 pm.... So we have to the truck towed to our house... Lock everything up ... and take my DM where she had to be (River & Spires a local festival)....
Well after getting there we enjoy the festival till she's done working and then my step-dad finally out of his school finals joins us ... WHOHO bed here I come.... NOPE Lisa passes out at festival (guess who forgot to eat almost all day).........
After about 3 hrs on a electrolyte bag and all other kind of wires at our so "Lovely" hospital I get to go home... GOOD gotta be up early Saturday to go back to the silly festival and dance me and DD ....... :headache:
So I get up early enjoy a bowl of Special K .... some milk ... and take some vitamin they prescribed the night before.... I get DD and me ready ... go to walk out the door and realize ... I literally forgot to get MY DRESSED remembered hair and make-up but not my CLOTHES... ran back in house (yep made it outside in my night gown) got dressed ... now I can leave....

Festival again great not crowded found close parking spot .... but lord it stinks ... (keep it down lisa just dance watch DD go home)............

Didn't keep breakfast down .... oh well..... danced ..... went home to refresh makeup and outfits, feed the DD refreshed her makeup, hair, and costume .... now back out door for Dance Pictures .....

After all that finally got home sometime around 5pm on Saturday and my very loving and great DH went and got me Longhorn (skipped diet for that because it was so sweet and great ... Firecracker Chicken Wraps, (1/2) a 14 oz Sirloin w/ Asparagus)

So the end of a very busy weekend is watching the storm roll through and relaxing ... I worked out enough think i deserve a little break

Anyone else agree ... LOL :rotfl:Maybe I have just finally lost it.

Hi new friends! So cited to meet a group of discrazies who'll be there when we are! We're going Sept 19-28, at Pop. I can't wait, I love Pop!
Just booked our flights this past week, landing at MCO at noon on Sat, yay!! Now I just have to sit n wait to book ADR's....in the meantime I'll hang with you all if you don't mind!

Welcome Becca, I'm Lisa we will be at ASMo Sept 19th-26th YIPPIE:cheer2:

Lisa, I have heard of folks who 'forgot' to eat but I thought was just an urban myth. :rotfl:Round these parts lots of folks, mostly youngsters, run around in their jammies. I always put my clothes on before combing my hair etc. I often forget to comb my hair but NEVER to get dressed! That is what you get for putting everyone else ahead of you. You have a fantastic husband to help his mil out so nicely and then to take care of you so well to boot! I am glad that all ended well but surely do hope that you guys calm down a bit or you are going to meet yourself coming and going and end up dizzier than twenty rides on the Teacups! Dizziness, confusion, vomiting??? Might there be a little something/something going on here that you are not 'expecting"?:goodvibes

JM, the good news is that ALL cheese is low carb, however I think that program is defunct. I am an expert on feeding folks on a low budget. I taught classes in such for many years and lived it as well. I doubt that you need lessons but I am available if you do. I cannot imagine how scary thing seem right now. It will be alright, I know it. Maybe not right away though. You have the right attitude and you are so right that many things that appear bad, at the time, end up being the best thing in the long run. Make sure that you sign up for everything that you are eligible for and get all the medical things done that you can think of before the insurance is stopped. Too many folks wait until things get desperate. These are unusual times.

I have found that medicating myself was easier and more efficient than medicating the child. Might not have made them behave better but I did not notice.:dance3:

Those dumb PC folks done put a screw on the reverse side of the cage that holds the hard drive. I am currently looking for some dynamite. There are far fewer things inside the case than I expected but I fear the same could be said for my brain as well.

Yes, I pamper my furbabies. My mother is even worse. I am not kidding, she use to make her dogs a large pot of chicken N Dumplings that she would pour over their dog food each day. We were told to make ourselves a sandwich.:rotfl:

The first trip to Epcot we wanted to ride more but only had 3 hours in the parks.:sad2:

Ang--sorry about the darned refi mess. We've already talked to our bank, and have basically been told they won't consider anyone who isn't behind on their payments. :confused3

That just totally blows me away. Also scares me because one builder in our neighbor has sold about 10 lots in the past month or so and all these houses are going up.

JM and Ang--my ds is my skinny kid. When he sucks in his gut, it majorly creeps out his sister. Not as much as a boy in her class, though; when he sucks it in, you can see his spine! :scared1: So, of course, he delights in doing this as often as possible. :rotfl:

I don't think you can see Jacob's spine, so I guess I should feel good.

Dh has one week left in the office, then 5 weeks paid where he's supposed to try to find another job within the company, then he's officially unemployed. Anyone know if government cheese is low carb? J/K--we've had lots of time to prepare, and dh has been ready for a change for a long time anyway. See, I would be totally :scared::scared1:if I were in your situation. You obviously plan a lot better than we ever do. I realized my DH has been taking money out of savings to buy stuff he wants. Not needs, wants. I didn't say anything, too many discussions before, but I hinted that I really thought we had more money in savings than we do. Maybe that will set in better then me yelling at him.

Oh, and glad all of your kids dental problems were fixed and they are ok. :thumbsup2

Hey girls, do we have a topic? Lisa sorry to hear you had such a crazy weekend. Glad you were ok after fainting. That is scary.

Broken down vehicle is what your mother calls you for, when we lived close to my Mom she would call us because a goat had died and she needed help getting it in the truck or trailer to take to the Humane Society to deal with. I think in the five years we lived there, we got that phone call four times.:scared1:

Those dumb PC folks done put a screw on the reverse side of the cage that holds the hard drive. I am currently looking for some dynamite. There are far fewer things inside the case than I expected but I fear the same could be said for my brain as well.

SG

Are we related because I feel the same way about my brain.

Well, all toys have made it to Jacob's room. All loose toys are in a pile ready to be placed in tubs that are lined up, so there is hope to him having a clean room. The bad part is I realized his carpents need to be cleaned. Going to try to get that done today also.

Nah not prego .... just don't like the smell of stale beer, trash, and I don't know what else... Eww.... I have hypoglycemia and as a result of forgetting to eat well ... my sugar dropped really low and made me faint... Confusion thats just a mom with too much to do...

SG we have people who go out to the stores in their jammies too .. NOT me ... I always see those fuzzy pj pants/flannel pj pants
I don't get it ... I don't want anyone to see my night gown or night clothes... isn't it why they are for the bed?
LOL

Hey girls, do we have a topic? Lisa sorry to hear you had such a crazy weekend. Glad you were ok after fainting. That is scary.

Lisa,
So sorry about your scary day. Glad things seem to be on the right track. Don't you start feeling nausiated and dizzy with the hypoglycemia as a warning before passing out? You must keep some sort of food in your pocket or purse.

TB,
I sure hope your DH finds something so much better than what he had. I too try to remember that when things seem hardest is usually when they end up better.

I told DS to suck in his stomach the other day and you can see his ribs but I was socked to see he actually has stomach muscles now that prevent it from caving in like when he was younger. I was also shocked to find out he is 5'9. My little boy is growing way too fast. He will always be my baby though.

Thanks for the info on the refi we were stumped as to why we were turned down and now it sounds like we were just too responsible to qualify. I am fortunate to not have been late on any mortgage payments but not fortunate enough to get a refi at between 4 and 5% interest so we are stuck with 8 1/3%. At least it's fixed and we can still pay on time.

Melissa,
With Jacob and his toys it sounds like you might be at the point I was at when Will was younger. I learned the best solution to too many toys was to put them in boxes and rotate them so he only had one box at a time. If he kept them cleaned up on his own he could bring me the old box on Saturdays to trade for a new one. Just a suggestion to eleviate your frustration. What works for one doesn't always work for another though.

SG,
Did you find the dynamite yet? How did the computer fair after the blast? lol

Ang

Sorry if this is OFF TOPIC but gotta get it out .....

I was wondering where you were--and now I know--the side of the highway, Walgreen's, ER--pretty much a dream weekend! Glad you're okay, and that you made it back to the festival.

Lisa, I have heard of folks who 'forgot' to eat but I thought was just an urban myth.

 There has never been a documented case of any member of my family "forgetting" to eat!

The good news is that ALL cheese is low carb, however I think that program is defunct. I am an expert on feeding folks on a low budget. I taught classes in such for many years and lived it as well. I doubt that you need lessons but I am available if you do. I cannot imagine how scary thing seem right now. It will be alright, I know it. Maybe not right away though. Too many folks wait until things get desperate. These are unusual times.

Dang about the government cheese! I kid, but dh is a master at figuring out what we're eligible for and making sure I get it for us. We're very thankful that the new administration is making it possible for us to afford to COBRA our medical/dental benefits, but still getting everything we can think of done now. Next up: eye dr appts!

I have found that medicating myself was easier and more efficient than medicating the child. Might not have made them behave better but I did not notice.:dance3:

Well then the heck with the eye dr--enough "self medicating" and I won't notice or care whether if my vision is blurry!

Yes, I pamper my furbabies. My mother is even worse. I am not kidding, she use to make her dogs a large pot of chicken N Dumplings that she would pour over their dog food each day. We were told to make ourselves a sandwich.:rotfl:

:rotfl2: That sounds like my friend! In the winter (in Chicago) her dh and dd would complain that she had the heat turned down too low, but the only time she'd turn it up is if she thought the dogs were cold!

My dh is a great planner. Not that we're financially set or anything, but we've known this was coming for close to a year now, so he's had lots of time to think about what to do when the time came. And we've continued to spend more on things that we "want" too (a certain recent spring break trip to WDW comes to mind :rolleyes1).

Well, all toys have made it to Jacob's room. All loose toys are in a pile ready to be placed in tubs that are lined up, so there is hope to him having a clean room. The bad part is I realized his carpents need to be cleaned. Going to try to get that done today also.

Another reason not to clean the kids' rooms--finding more stuff that needs to be cleaned!

I told DS to suck in his stomach the other day and you can see his ribs but I was socked to see he actually has stomach muscles now that prevent it from caving in like when he was younger. I was also shocked to find out he is 5'9. My little boy is growing way too fast. He will always be my baby though.

I once heard that with kids, the days sometimes seem like years, but the years go by like days. So true.

Isn't it ridiculous? Too responsible??? Some things are just completely bass ackwards in our society! Like you said the good news is you are able to make the payments.

SG,
Did you find the dynamite yet? How did the computer fair after the blast? lol

Ang

I fear for the poor computer as well. :scared:

Lisa,
So sorry about your scary day. Glad things seem to be on the right track. Don't you start feeling nausiated and dizzy with the hypoglycemia as a warning before passing out? You must keep some sort of food in your pocket or purse.

Ang

Thanks Ang ... you know I usually do feel "weird/dizzy" or at least shake before it gets real bad and I carry something called "Orange Instant Sugar" Chews that are prescription... But for some reason one minute I am trying to avoid all the drunks who are already stumbling around the place next minute I I'm drunk one of the drunks.....

My DH said one of the officers said "She's had either started way to early or was a really cheap date".... my Dear Husband (deserves full typing) said "I'm sorry sir my wife isn't drunk please apologize to her she is actually very sick".... That's finally when I got some medical attention. How sad... Oh well over and done. (Didn't know that happen till this morning when we were having a morning discussion over some cereal <remembered breakfast Check>

Here is a bunch of sage advice. Feel free to ignore. I give my children that option as well. :rotfl:

Always buy carpet the predominate color of whatever is going to be spilled on it. Patterned is best as you will not be able to see all the crumbs.

Buying a few wants when you are headed into a bad time is not so very bad. Small comforts are good for your mental health and besides, it is better than losing it to the government/big bad businesses.:teacher:

People who are kind to their animals are the people I want to be owned by when I am reincarnated.

Children have so much stuff that they have the attention span of ants so giving them limited amounts of stuff forces them to focus as well as use their imaginations.:flower3:

A man who sticks up for his wife is a man indeed.:worship:

A tattoo on your forehead saying, "Feed Me" might be useful.popcorn::

You can tell when you have overdone the self medicating when your vision gets blurry and you no longer remember your name.:confused3

Dead things do not harm us, it is the living that we should be scared of.:scared1:

If you believe that the government does things in a commonsense manner you are either very young or so old that you have gone senile.

When using dynamite to pry loose a hard drive you are more likely to end up with a hole in your roof, melted plastic all over your living room and singed hair. :rolleyes1

Had a lovely morning at the CC. I am getting a bit more assertive there. When they usher 40 some kids in I have started telling them that I cannot handle them all at once. The older kids come by gender. Boys do not like girl's books and there are so few books that boys like. I have them all though.

Headed to a track meet tonight. Have been told to bring a chair that will not sink into the soggy ground. Even during drought times, when I sit on a chair it will sink into the ground. :woohoo:

SG

Lisa,
What a good guy your DH is. Had it been me in your place my DH, who thinks everything is funny, he would have been laughing that they thought I was drunk. Sometimes people say the stupidest things out of ignorance like that officer did. I am just glad you are ok.

SG,
How is your roof and singed hair? lol
