Hey guys, busy day here. I've had tons to do at work today. In between writing code, I managed to get myself 10 infraction points for being sarcastic. I'm not complaining. I WAS sarcastic.

I know I don't post much anymore, but I really do read here regularly. I like to keep up with what's going on with all of you.

Diva K, drippy nose, sore throat and then cough. I know the routine. I have loads of sprays and such too. Do not work. Need any? lol Did you have these problems before you moved to Texas? Might it be the house? I hope you feel better and can get all fixed up easily.

M2E, ten points for being sarcastic? Imagine! I could beat that on a good day. This is your employer who gives you points? Do you get a gold star for being good? I did code back in the OLD days and hated it. Typing numbers has always been the bane of my existence even though I got darned good at a key pad. If I had to do that all day I would be more than sarcastic.

My boy spent the night, no school again today. He had BBQ ribs for lunch and a ribeye for dinner. He is an ardent carnivore. Spaghetti for lunch today along with my famous cheese garlic biscuits. I lost over a pound yesterday because I was too busy cooking for them to eat.

Going to attempt to get through to Comcast again today. Keep your fingers crossed for me and know that while my fingers are typing (email leaves a trail of evidence) my thoughts will be more than sarcastic and if noted would garner me far more than points.

DivaK, not the area to live in being just a little allergic to Mesquite. My DH finally got tested and has decided to do allergy shots. Sad thing was, they found him to be allergic to dogs. We have 3!

They also gave him an inhaler for the nose. Yuck!

Hope all are well and as SG posted, has electricity, food etc.

Not at work, here on the Dis. A webmaster docked me 10 infraction points for being sarcastic in a post. I replied to someone that is always posting snarky political threads. I asked if they were going to do this kind of thing for the next 4-8 years so I could prepare myself. Yes, I was totally guilty of being sarcastic. It just aggravates me that people make hateful & sarcastic posts all the time and nothing ever seems to happen to them. Oh well, you live you learn.

I've always had issues with my sinuses...got sinus infections all the time as a kid...never really noticed being allergic to anything until we moved to Texas (ie the mountain cedar & mesquite.)
DM called last night to say she had been laid off...had been with the company 14 years

Diva K, I am sorry to hear about your mom. Will she be alright? As much as I love my children the thought of me having to move in with them or they I is a scary one. No home is big enough for two women. No matter how nice. What kind of work did she do? Might they be able to desensitize you to whatever makes you sneeze etc? Doubt you could get them cut down all those trees.

M2E, I reckon the only reason I have never gotten into trouble on the boards is that after working with small children my entire life I have learned a fundamental truth. Do not respond to bad behavior, it encourages it and makes the person happy. If you ignore them they will go away and find somewhere else to stir up trouble. I am sorry that someone provoked you into responding and you were the one who got in trouble.

WIC, how ya doing there? Up to no good? One wonders you know.

Pooh, it is just a basic biscuit recipe and I add some garlic and shredded cheese and top them off with melted butter. I have one left, come and get it! If you want a real recipe just Goggle for Red Lobster biscuit recipe. 150 calories per, please do not ask me how I know.

JM, I am hearing that some folks will not get electricity etc. until mid February. This is just not right, especially in the US. The Governor of KY was telling of all sorts of terrible trouble there.

Back to work for me. I did little yesterday and have to do something today. I lifted the tall display thing out of one corner and put it in another corner but am walking like Quasimodo right now.

What happened to you is exactly why I try to stay away from the political threads. I lost a good friend not too long ago due to her sending me a political email about policies and such and I researched what it said and sent it back with the truth and the link to it. I was nice about it but she has not talked to me since. Politics just make a lot of people hot under the collar where they are out to prove that only their opinion counts no matter what.

That said I read a thread on here where someone working in a classroom with an autistic child said they hated this child for a long time and then said they caused their miscarriage. I don't think I have ever been so mad before so before I said something stupid I just closed the link. I felt bad about what happened to her but felt the need to stand up for a helpless person at the same time. Some things are just better left unread and unsaid KWIM. lol

Sorry to hear that only you got the points though. IMO, some people are favoritized and allowed to create havoc for whatever reason on the boards.
I don't think that will ever change.

What is it with Comcast and lately Directv with the bad Customer service and trying to overcharge customers? I have Directv and every month they overcharge me and every month I have to call to explain and get it straightened out. Sometimes it is a nice rep and sometimes they have an bad attitude like you are wasting their time. Maybe they figure with the digital conversion we need them more than they need our business?

As for allergies and sinus infections. I used to get tons of sinus infections and still do when they till up the fields around our house. I now use a neti pot where I pour salt water through the sinus to clean it out and I use lots of Aleve cold and sinus. I swear that between DS and I they probably thing we use the stuff for illegal means. lol

Our accountant lives in Texas and has never had allergies till the last month. She said her doctor told her some front off the ocean brought in Cedarwood mold and she got so bad her eyes swelled shut and it almost cut off her breathing. I am sure that must have effected a lot of people in Texas.

I've heard of Neti pots but never tried it...do you recommend? I use Claritin D and have to show my ID whenever I buy it...can only get one box at a time because apparently they do something illegal with it...

She worked in the office of a trucking management company as an administrative assistant and doing customer service...she had mentioned when we were home @Christmas that business was slow...I think they'll be OK, my DF still works and DM can collect unemployment...on the bright side she can come down for a visit!

I get relief from the pressure as well as it lessening the length of the sinus infection. It sure does clean it out and moisten the sinus so less pain. I think they are like $10 at walmart/walgreens so it might be worth trying.

My aunt works in the same position as your DM and she is expecting to get layed off soon too. The trucking industry is not doing quit as good as it once was. Loads are not paying much anymore either and then there are less people spending so less loads to haul and more companies trying to underbid each other. Glad your DM has your DF who is working. My aunt is single and in her late 50's so she is very worried about losing the job. Hopefully, you can enjoy some extra time with her though.

try the Mucinex in the RED/PINK BOX I have severe allergy/sinus problem and when I found this I only had to use 2 tablets.. it was for every 12 hours ... hope it works for you...
