Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

My daughter and I used to fight about Pop Tarts. That was her favorite breakfast (lunch and dinner, as well as snack) food and It thought it was junk food and not even good tasting junk food. Now she serves them to her children. :confused3

The only Pop Tarts I like are you guys!!:cheer2: :grouphug: :flower3:

Pooh, your hand is no better? That is not good. Get better soon?:flower3:

JM, they never like the books you want them to like. :rotfl2: You can send that book to me as I have not read it yet. :rotfl:

Diva K, you just keep outdoing yourself. How you manage everything you do and also find such great stuff I will never know.

Ang, a Wii and the boy still cannot control himself? I thought more highly of Will than that. I just bought myself another piece of electronic gear. Amazon had a great deal on a Sony TV and I have a blank spot on the wall so it was a match made in heaven. It should arrive Wednesday. Loving my Netflix box too. I should buy stock in the electric company.

M&N, you go ahead and try to compete with Diva K. I know when I am outgunned. :faint:

I have been having problems in switching from one email account to another and my emails have to be hunted down between the on line account, my desktop or my laptop. Might be a few dozen floating out there in cyber space clogging up the system. :crowded:

SG (who hopes she has it all fixed now)

Hi all,

Thanks for all the Pixie Dust it must have worked the hand it is doing better Doctor said little scarring if any so Yeah but it still hurts like the dickens :rotfl2: and still outlined with the pan handle but hey I guess it will teach me not to use a towel to hold the hot pan again.

As far as the Pop Tart thing don't bother yourselves with those people I agree with Rie its people doing passive agressive things and trying to make fun so let them it only makes them look dumb in the end and people will come to see the truth about them in the end it may take time but they will see through them.

so I am truely thinking about a trip for my b-day in March and with the 4 day 3free day thing i might and the air fair coming down Yeah I can get a flight now for 79 each way with a $25 discount on top of that. Just might bite on this gals.

Rie I promise I will call you soon Gal, I miss talking to you.

How is your friend with the crazy husband by the way? I hope things have calmed down somewhat for her and her daughter.

Ang
Things are going really well with her, I think. He's only on paid administrative leave for time being and a resolution through HR is pending. We’ve heard rumors that something showed up in his drug test, but at this point, they’re just rumors. The very first day he got out of the 72 hour psych hold, he was right back at the sports bar up the street during lunch hours. If he does get fired over this whole thing, she’ll lose out. He won’t be able to continue paying ½ of the mortgage and/or credit card bills.

Unfortunately, he and his family are telling people that she & her new beau set him up. Of course, this is completely untrue. Neither of them knew this was happening until he’d been escorted downtown to the HR offices. But people will believe what they want to believe. And my friend is too nice to just shout the truth from the rooftops. That’s why she keeps me around! Anytime I hear someone spouting what they believe is the truth, I set them straight. I inform them that they don’t know what the heck their talking about & proceed to explain what’s really going on.

huh???:confused3
I just noticed Pop Tarts in the thread title and clicked on it :surfweb:
I didn't mean to upset anyone :guilty:

I agree with Ang...I may be dense but I didn't take anything as offensive...if they are making fun of us its only because they are jealous they aren't part of such a wonderful group! :grouphug:
I didn't take offense to it, just measured the possibility of their intent. A few of the people on that post aren't nice people, I guess I "considered the source" and moved on.

Glad your hand is doing better. Call any evening, I'd love to hear that accent again.

Oh,no, I hope it did not come across that way! I was just having fun with Kris.:thumbsup2

Happy Tuesday, Pop Tarts!

SG, I'll keep you in mind for the Kingdom Keepers. I hope I can get Jacob to read it though. I'm reading "Marley and Me" right now and then will get started on it.

Poohbear, glad to hear your hand is doing better.:cheer2: And I hope you do make a trip in March.

Mom2Evie, glad to hear your friend and her daughter are ok. I know they have a long road ahead of them.

Oh, and as far as that Pop Tart thread, I didn't see anything, but didn't read it all. One thing I like about the Dis is most people are very nice!:flower3:

We gpt our first real snow of the season last night so everything is canceled. I did not want to go anywhere anyway so I do not mind. :cool1: The UPS man came a day early and brought my newest toy, a Sony Bravia TV set. I bought it from Amazon on a sale and with no sales tax I saved a hunk of money. There are out of them in this area any old way. I have the snow shoveled and am ready for the next blast that is to hit this afternoon. I just shovel a bit at a time. My 80 year old neighbor uses his snow blower on his sidewalk and on his way to the church next door he goes right by my house so I only have the front steps (8), side steps (4), about 75 ft to the garage and a path for the car to get out of the garage to shovel myself. I did the neighbors front and back porches too. Heart must be doing alright. :cheer2:

Pooh, glad to hear you might not have any scarring. You done took all the fun out of things if you refuse to take the bait. Good for you!:cheer2:

JM, I live behind a library and can get any book I want but thank you so very much for your kind thoughts. So many people give me books that a nuclear attack could hit and between what they gave me and what I own I would be set for reading materials into the next millennium. I own every single Reader's Digest Condensed book from 1934. You should see the bookcase. :cool1:

Minnie, I could never think a mean thought about you, or much of anyone else. I was just joking you. Always assume that I have a silly grin on my face no matter what my fingers type. :flower3:

M2E, your friend must be frantic with all that is going on. Sounds as if her husband has some pretty serious issues that need dealing with before he totally comes unglued. Has he always had substance/alcohol problems or is it something new? Stress? I hope it works out for all concerned.

Back to work for me. When you buy something new it makes everything else need to be cleaned up.

SG

Enjoy the new TV SG. What perfect weather to do so. Oh, I miss snow. I have been out working in the yard in this 77 degree weather we are having. Suppose to get chilly for the weekend though. Sounds like good Superbowl weather though. Wish we could go, especially since it is just across the bay from us.

Oh, and I love Readers Digest. I like all the funny stories people submit.

Oh, and just cancelled my reservation for Pop Century for July. Got my confirmation for SoG, so I am good to go.

Good book but you can guess how it ends...:sad2:
As a dog lover it hit too close to my heart...haven't seen the movie for that reason.

Me too! Mt friend gave me the follow-up book to Marley and Me and I cannot bring myself to read it; I just know it will be heartbreaking.

oh! And I saw the author in a TV commercial for the AKC and I was disappointed for 2 reasons:
1. That he would represent AKC who has done practically nothing to support legislature to get rid of puppy mills (the most horrific places pet shops get their puppies).
2. Because he called himself Marley's owner" rather than "guardian".

I know some will think I am over the top, but having personal experience with the horrors of puppy mills I've become an advocate for every tormented furbaby who used as a breeder for the cute puppies sold in pet shops.

Okay, stepping down off the soapbox.;)

I got the new TV on its pedestal and installed on the shelf. I have gotten wimpy from being so sick for a few years that I can no longer lift what I used to. It is working fine, no big improvement other than it fits on the bookshelf and I can move my furniture into a more comfortable pattern. The sound is good which is a relief as I have read many complaints about that about all of the different models. Maybe my hearing is so bad that I cannot hear the nuances and only care about LOUD. :rotfl2: Now I have realized that I have to take it back down to hook up all the other equipment. :confused3

We got another half foot or more of snow last night. No school so my grandsons should be back over today, I hope. I need to get out to go read to my older group today.

Am fighting with Comcast as I just got my first months bill after upgrading to a package. They charged me for stuff they should not have along with starting billing on the day or order (6th) instead of day of installation (16) and double billing for some cable services. I spent two hours arguing with them only to be told that the huge bill was because I "downgraded" services. WTH!!!!!! AT&T sent me a nice note saying that I would have internet service from them for an entire extra month so that I would have time to get all my emails and such. I think I made a mistake. :sad1:

JM, my experience has been that you see far more of an event, and in comfort, on your own home TV. The snacks are better and cheaper too. :cheer2:

I hate anyone who would abuse an animal. It seems the lowest of the low however I am perplexed as to when a child is hurt the same furor does not seem to be there. Bullies need to be nipped in the bud, Barney Fife was right. If allowed to start they will continue and escalate.

Sorry, I am not in a good mood today. Cranky old biddy, me. pirate:

SG/back later when I can be in a better mood, hopefully after winning the Comcast argument, or switching to something else.

I am a glutten for punishment. I can remember having to read "Where the Red Fern Grows" in high school. I knew how it ended since I had seen the movie many years earlier. One of my classmates practically yelled at the teacher for making her read such a horribly sad book.

Me too! Mt friend gave me the follow-up book to Marley and Me and I cannot bring myself to read it; I just know it will be heartbreaking.

One of my dogs came from a place very close to being a puppy mill. They were at least clean and had the igloo dog houses, but must have had 40 grown dogs. Probably wouldn't do it again, but I wouldn't have my Mozart now either. I would never buy from a pet store.

Oh, and you sound like me with elephants. I watched a special on the Elephant Sanctuary one time. Have not been to a circus since.

SG, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with the cable company. I hate dealing with that stuff but have to because the DH is clueless.

I have spent the whole day helping the school get through picture day. It was mass chaos. One question, why do people volunteer and then sit on their rears the whole time? Same lady did the same thing when she helped out with the book fair. :confused3
Wow, week is officially half way over.:cool1:

Books teach us so much. I read so many, what some might call inappropriate, books when I was young and they shaped my thoughts and ideas of right and wrong. Anne Frank's Diary taught me the inhumanity of man and made me want to make sure that such does not happen again. Books on animal abuse, while sad, taught me that such was not to be tolerated. "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" taught me the idea that the victim should not suffer for the crime. "A Gentleman's Agreement" taught me the silliness of being prejudged against someone because of their religion or ethnicity. I could go on and on, and have. :rotfl2: I still think that Bambi, a cartoon, was a bit harsh though.

I am against forced reading lists, until high school , at least. Give children a list of different books and let them choose. Every book is not for everyone.

JM and Minnie, we are so lucky to be living in a rural area where folks, mostly, control their litters and make sure they go to good homes, for a reasonable price, if any price at all. Living things should not be propagated purely for profit. If I ever decide to get a dog I am determined to get one from a shelter so that I can save them. A pet is something to be loved and cherished and not worn as an accessory to show off how much it cost.

Thank you to all for the kind words. I truly do not get mad easily but I am not a happy camper. I am trying to remind myself that in the end I will not be paying much more than I was before, for the same services, and this too will pass. Wish the stimulus package that will give wifi to the country would be implemented quickly, as quickly as banks etc. were bailed out. :cheer2:

Pooh, we have so much snow here that my grandson had to come over with the scooploader to clear the garage. He also shoveled for me as I am not in any shape to do so. I have been moving furniture and I should not have done so. :faint:

SG

Okay, folks. I promise I am in a much better mood today. I have decided that since no one has cancer I can cope with whatever else.

My grandson came and shoveled me out of yesterday's snow. There is no way I could have done it myself. No school again today so the youngest grandson is coming to keep me company. My daughter got to work from home yesterday in her pajamas. She said she loved the commute. :rotfl2:

I apologize for being a downer yesterday and far too preachy.

I have over 200 movies in my Netflix Instant Watch que so we may watch a few today instead of doing any actual work. I think my back would appreciate that.

I hope everyone has electricity, heat and enough food that they do not need to venture out but can hunker down and enjoy a quiet day.

Hugs, SG

yeah we had so much snow that our poor babies couldn't even pee without the snow hitting their bottoms and they didn't like it at all let me tell ya~~:lmao:

Pooh, what a mind picture you have given me to start the day with. Even though I have some sympathy, ever had your toilet seat Saran wrapped, it is still is funny. The difference between comedy and tragedy is if it happens to you or someone else ya know. :rotfl2:

Did you dig them a trench for today?

yea I have heard of the Saran wrap thing and I have done that to people in the past (when they got married, we used to do naughty things to their houses before they got home).

Didn't have to dig anything for them they run and put ruts in the pen for themselves they love the snow but can't be out in it very long.

Pooh, does not surprise me at all. :rotfl2: I have always been the victim and never the instigator but as I age I find myself contemplating more evil deeds than before.

I have come to the conclusion that the reason older folks get more difficult is that they are no longer able to do everything that they used to and they are frustrated and have to take it out on someone. :upsidedow My family is rooting for me to die young. Oops, too late!:lmao:

Hope you and your babies survive without losing any nether regions.

Made an appointment with an allergist for the end of the month...hopfully he'll be able to cure me of what ails me (sinuses  )

My appointment was yesterday. They tested me for 80 different allergens!
I was only slightly allergic to two (mountain cedar & mesquite.) But I found out I have a deviated septum and vasomotor rhinitis. Got a prescription nasal spray :rolleyes2

Busy prepping for our big Super bowl party on Sunday!
