Sept. 2009 Use Year question

We have a September Use Year. As of right now, we have zero points in our Sept. 2008 year, but have 364 left in our Sept. 2009 year. Does that mean that these points are available from now until the end of next August?

If yes, then would I be able to use the 364 and borrow the total amount of 439 from the Sept. 2010 Use Year? Or am I in the 2008 year right now, so all I really have available is the 364 from now til the end of Aug??

Sorry if this is confusing, but my kids just said they might all want to take a trip (with grandchildren) and I don't know if I have enough points for everyone!!

You have 364 available to borrow from Sept '09. For any reservation starting after Sept '09, you can borrow from Sept '10. Your Sept '09 points will not expire until Aug '10. So if you are wanting to book a trip from now until Aug'10, you have the balance of your '09 points to use (364).

Your current UY is Sept '08 so you have zero points until calendar Sept '09. Your next UY, your Sept '09 UY, has 364 points available.

We want to vacation in April 2009, probably getting two one bedrooms and maybe a two bedroom. My husband and I are already booked, so it would be for three of our kids and their families.

You only have 364 points available which would need to be borrowed into your Sept '08 UY for a April '09 vacation.

Looks like you need to buy some more points.

An April, 2009 trip falls in your September, 2008 Use Year (that runs from September 1, 2008 thru August 31, 2009). If you have no points left in the 2008 Use Year you would need to borrow from your 2009 Use Year to do so. If any of the points in your 2009 Use Year were banked from 2008, those could not be borrowed (banked points cannot be borrowed). You could not borrow points from your 2010 Use Year for a trip in your 2008 Use Year.

If you have 439 points in your contract - and all of the 364 in the 2009 Use Year are from that Use Year (meaning you have already borrowed 75 points from 2009 for trips this year?) - then you could borrow up to 364 from September, 2009 to use for any trip prior to September 1, 2009. If that won't be enough points, you can try to find someone able to transfer points into your account.

Thanks everyone - now I understand. I'll see what 364 will do for us for an April 2009 trip. The kids aren't talking about a whole week, and maybe they can double up for a shorter trip. However, I really like Disnenutz idea about "buying more points!" I'll have to give that some serious thought!
