Great family photos everyone! :cool1::cool1:

Love the photographer's websites. Nice. :thumbsup2

I'm not a lush, however, I will consume more alcohol during this trip that I have consumed this entire year to date. I'm relaxing... I'm not driving... I don't have a corporate "image" to uphold... I love trying different drinks o' day. The result....I am barely seen on deck without a drink in my hand.... and one after the spa... and one after the show in Cove Cafe... and one while I'm reading on deck.. on my way to dinner... on my way to lunch... during dinner... I think you get the idea......:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

I am proud to say that I helped Stephanie be the lush she is!!!!!!

from one lush to another!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Steffy I like your plans for Sunday and Monday. We have to head home so I can get ready for work.

Just prebooked taxis for the trip from the Amtrak station to our hotel and from the hotel to the ship. Did not want to take the chance of having to wait at the train station for a taxi to come.

Well we may already have our answer....got this off the dry dock boards:

"I was just on the Wonder and asked the Captain. The ship will be dry docking in Victoria BC. The Walt Disney Theater is getting a new lighting system and new carpeting. All the outside decking will be refurbished. He said no big structural changes. Mostly just overall and refurbishments."

What about the steam in the exotic rasul rooms?! I read on another thread that the Magic took them out on her last dry dock. Any word on them taking the steam out of the rasul rooms on the Wonder during this dry dock?! :confused3

TA has talked with DCL - the tweet & the examiner print has been retracted....the alcohol policy is still in place as it was & has always been,
soooo i will have my Red Stag Black Cherry whiskey & Momto3Princesses' DH will have his rum & whoever wanted to bring their tequila - bring it :yay:

WHOOOOO HOOOO!!!! :cool1:

FH and I don't drink much, but come on! This is our HONEYMOON!!! I'd like to have a glass of wine each night (and try one of those cheese plates each night with our wine! ;)) and maybe bring a bottle of hard alcohol to mix our own drinks on-board the ship as well. SOOOOO glad to hear that that was just a "false alarm!" ::yes::

I don't drink at all but THAT sounds delish!

I agree!!! :)

I don't drink at all but THAT sounds delish!
And it is!! Not really alcoholic -which I like!!!
That is a bit crazy when you break it down.

Question for those in Vancouver - how easy is it to find a taxi at 1230 at night by the train station? I sent an email to Yellow Cab asking them, and I have not gotten a response yet.

I'm sure I read somewhere about transp being available -will try to locate that again

John...now that I'm home I got to look at your web site..Holy guacamole!!!! what wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing,

Heather.. our best day on our 2011 spring vacation was spend at the Dan Diego zoo. We did a back stage tour that was..well....something that made all the bad times of that vacation just melt away.

Little bored today?

i could learn a lot from you....i am just a hobbyist to get my Creative Memories albums filled :)
even though they are done digitally now

I would love a new camera for this trip. I will bring my Canon 20D. I wish I had just one perfect lens for traveling. I usually bring my 50mm and 75-300mm. I also wish I could learn how to shoot in manual. Must get out the manual! ;)

John...now that I'm home I got to look at your web site..Holy guacamole!!!! what wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing,

Thanks for all the compliments on our pictures (not all on there are mine—some are Heathers...)

If any (or all) of you want to take an hour or two on the ship and sit down with me, I'd be glad to help you with any photography questions you might have. I've been doing this for 45 years so I think I can answer your questions. And I might be able to learn something from you guys, too...

I love the Backstage Pass Program. I have had the chance to go twice now. Too bad we did not get to meet while you were here.

Yes please don't walk so late at nite :)
Have the cab number with you so you can call for one when you arrive

I found a website for yellow cab, and was able to RSVP, and took their phone number too in case we have to change it for any reason.

Off to bed - We are heading North to Disneyland tomorrow. I unexpectedly got an extra day off and talked John into it.:dance3:

Jim Beam Red Stag Black Cherry Whiskey

This does sound delicious! I also like sweet drinks and I don't drink very much, but when I do, the sweeter the better. This is why I enjoy the DOTD -- and a Dis'er turned me on to a yummy drink last sailing. I think it was a BBC -- Banana Bacardi Colada??

i too drink a lot of water, but i have always bought the case of water onboard - it's a little more exp than buying it & carting it on....but i may try your idea....

We brought on 2 cases of water for both of our sailings and we drank all of it and could have used more. I saw a Camelbak version of a filtered water bottle at REI today. I need to compare reviews -- it was more expensive than the Brita bottle.

Steffy, great plans for Seattle! The Princess cruise sounds like a dream -- much better than my coach seats heading north. ;) Is the Doubletree downtown or by the airport? If near the airport, there's a cool wine bar south of downtown that offers wine tastings from Washington wineries. It's in the SODO area of town -- it's called Urban Enoteca. Disclaimer: our friends own it. The other cruise lines have the owners go on board and do talks about WA wines.

GG, love the lighthouse pics. Point Loma is so pretty. Very nice to offer a sit down. LMK when you plan to hold a session and I'll try my best to make it. A sea day? Maybe you pick an object to photograph and tell us how/why you'd set your camera that way--or is that too novice? I am proud to say that the first pic I shot in manual was of the Chihuly chandelier on the Magic. I re-read all my notes before standing on the balcony and accomplished my goal. The worst photog moment for me on a cruise was when we pulled into Barcelona (EBTA 2010) and the fireworks show began. I had been messing with my settings and couldn't get them back to auto fast enough -- and then it was too slow to capture the beauty and spark. I was so disappointed. Luckily, another Dis'er was ready and capable and let me borrow some pics for my scrapbook.

Camonkeygirl, we plan to hail a cab outside the train station in Vancouver. It sounds like there are plenty waiting when the trains pull in, but I like your idea of reserving a taxi...must add to my list. :)

Yes the BBC - i hear it's fabulous but because of the banana i won't try it :(
oh yeah the Camelbak btls - i have seen those too - almost forgotten about them....hummmmm -
scrapbook???? CM by any chance? digital or traditional???? i am a CM cons - it's my "fun" job & gives me excuses to have weekend crop events :lmao: at places like Seascape Resort....Carmel....Tahoe & Camp Hammer (a Christian Camp up in the Calif Coast mountains near Big Basin)

I just searched Taxi + Vancouver, British COlombia, and Yellow cab was one of the first to pop up. You have to register, but they made it fairly easy

Yes it was Yellow Cab. quick and painless to do the two reservations, as I went ahead and got one for hotel to ship.

we are getting a late start up to Disneyland. We decided we wanted to sleep in, and John is now getting emails from the President of the board at the train museum that we volunteer at.

Well if you're not 'too tired' would love to have you there to celebrate too...if not, we'll celebrate on board at the Promenade!!!! :cool1::cool1:

great - thanks for the info!!!! i am SOOOOO excited!!! 19 more days - Dsis finally got her flights yesterday....such a procrastinator, but she's flying to sjc on the 16th so i will pick her up from the airport - we will have a nice dinner in SJC then head to Gilroy for the night. Sat i will take her to the coast to the beach and to my daughter's so she can "meet" Gbaby Jaxon! Will be nice to have her here for 24 hours :)
(before heading up to Vancouver) - i don't think she's ever been on Amtrak either, such a different pre-vacation for us :)

John & Heather- Love you photos, especially the aviation ones. We really enjoyed The Museum of Flight and the Boeing Factory last year in Seattle. Sadly, my photos look nothing like yours....

Terry-Loved your sons wedding pics, especially the one with the bride and the golf club...too funny
How are little Caleb & Vivienne (sp?) doing?

Brenda I've always liked the Creative Memories line, haven't yet made the switch to digital photo books yet, but now that the camera's are digital I think that is the way to go. I still have a ton of old photos that need to be in photo albums. I am a procrastinator though....

They are fabulous products...like you I too have hundreds of photos left to scrapbook traditionally, but with the digital software it's soooo much easier to do everything digitally that i just keep moving forward & maybe someday will get back to those printed photos (fortunately they are only a few yrs old - mostly from DS' high school sports & events....)

I'm putting together two Welcome Aboard packages for both of my children. My son will love it since he is 5 and I am hoping my 2 year old daughter will just love the Mickey.

They are going to be made out to be from Mickey Mouse. Each child will get a card with a note from Mickey AND a Cruise Line Mickey Mouse and Ears.

I hope to get them in the mail soon!!!
