I just found out my company, after 20 something years, is folding. My last day will be Sept. 1st.

But, this makes the cruise extra special, and I indend to enjoy it to the max!!

Been there...done that. Took me eleven months to find a job in 2009.

OK Repositioners,

I made my FE today and I thought it turned out pretty good. I purchased all my items at Joann's and Michael's craft store. The total cost was 14 dollars and included all material. I found the Disney, Cruise, Letters for names ( which are actually attached to little mickey icons), along with the Mickey icon crystals all in the scrapbooking section at both stores. I purchase a few other scrapbooking Disney stuff that I will attach magnetic backs to to put on the door. I'm going to attach a picture hopefully.

Hope you are are having as much fun as I am, making and purchasing FE items. It's such a nice, reasonably sized group. Although, I am planning a few extra for those who might joins us before the month ends.

One I thought I'd share is that there will be no doing the checking in and having your bags check to your home airport for this cruise.

Yeah, this economy sucks. I have been unemployed since Feb 2010. To top that off, hubby was just furloughed and so he will be applying for unemployment as well. He told me that since my trip is almost paid for that I should take it. So I plan to have a grand time. Will just stay on the ship and take lots of pictures.

but i hv a 9 mile run, two 3 mile runs & a 12 mile run that week.....the 9 mile is the day we board, so i'll have to do that at the hotel...

Getting a little nervous about our outbound flight. We have a noon flight out of LAX. Hoping the 9:30 offshore time on the last day is wrong.

Starbucks Via iced coffee is a great FE gift.

Thrilled about the fireworks announcement. I'll also keep my fingers crossed about the character breakfast. I asked about the Alice Tea Party and I was told that they are only scheduled on 7 day+ sailings. boo!

My position was essentially cut out of the budget for the library I was working at in April, but we had already bought non-refundable airfare, had our DVC reservations, etc, etc so we decided to go anyways. They still haven't filled my position over there and I feel horribly for my old boss who is now having to do double the work. So I filed for unemployment, doubled up on my graduate courses and should be finishing my Master's in December instead of next year as I had originally planned.
As it turns out losing that position was some pixie dust in disguise since a few weeks ago the local college library contacted me and offered me a faculty position doing essentially the same job for better compensation, a much shorter commute, and better hours. And they were okay with my being gone for 3 weeks a month after I start for this cruise! Living off unemployment & DH's salary has been tight but this has turned out to be a better situation than one I would have looked for had I not been unemployed. Here's some your way for finding an even better work situation.

I am a very positve person, and though I really hate change, I am always curious to know what's around the corner. I truly believe the "when one door closes..." adage.

In fact, I got my present position 13 years ago after both my husband and I were downsized from the same company! Now THAT was scary but I found this company and my husband developed his own business.

I am optimistic that life will unfold as it should!

Now back to cruise news:

Just got my daughter's pirate costume; it's so cute. She's currently in Los Angeles so I am hoping it fits! I still have mine from my first cruise.

I was all excited about the Keurig myself so a little bummed about not being able to take one on. Has anyone tried Starbucks instant coffee Via yet? Its not amazing but I think it may be better than the onboard stuff.

I've got some but I haven't tried it yet...

Well i was going to recommend bringing the Starbucks Via (Katiezmom beat me to it)

true - it's not bad at all...but the onboard isn't 'horrible' - i mean i've had worse....

I was in the Navy for 20 years... I can drink anything, but the Keurig has me a little spoiled.
