Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

Do you hv a connection to a silk screener? That would be better than the iron ons for sure

Crystal, you did an AMAZING job!!! :thumbsup2

And I absolutely LOVE "Pirates of the Pacific." Has a catchy ring to it! ;)

SOOO glad everyone likes it....i've already added the "phrase" to my signature :)

I love it! Thanks Crystal!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Great job! I really like it.

Thanks for all your hard work.

The picture is lovely (thanks crystal!), and I definitely like the shirts idea though I don't even have an iron, so would prefer to buy a shirt if someone does have a silk screener connection.
Alternately I know kodakgallery.com does picture shirts that they will print whatever one uploads, and I think Costco does this as well, only for less $$. Usually I order a bunch of stuff for the grandparents with pics of the kids on them for the holidays, and it turns out quite nicely. I imagine Snapfish and Photobucket probably will sell a similar service?
Will probably go the Costco route this time if no one is able to print up a bunch (though if anybody can it would be awesome!). Then all I'd have to do is add an eye patch for pirate night (if there is one), since that would be the extent of my dressing up I think. :goodvibes

I'm glad everyone seems to be liking the image.
I will do some finishing touches and resize for online, shirt and such and post them all for everyone tonight/tomorrow.

Woohoo! Paid our deposit this morning so we're in like Flynn. :cool1:

Now to keep the secret from the kids for the next four months! When we went to Disneyland last year we didn't tell them till the day we left. We talked about this time and decided we'll probably tell them the weekend before. My older daughter has..er...'stomach issues' with anticipation and we'd like to keep the barf-fest as brief as possible :rotfl2:.

I can't believe the Wonder was in town on Monday and I didn't go down to see her! Who knew that four days later I'd have a rezzie booked!?

I did have a friend who walked down to watch her arrive in Victoria and shared these photos with me (*I* was at work, darnit):

Disney Wonder sailing into Victoria

Disney Wonder

We'll just take the ferry to Vancouver on the 20th and probably fly back from LA on the 25th or maybe the Monday morning if the flights are cheaper. It seems a shame to be so close to Disneyland and not stop by for a visit but it is what it is.

We expect to spend the Victoria port day exploring the ship because well, we live there so we'd much rather see the ship than any of the excursions!

This is our first ever cruise and we're already way way excited!

Welcome to the group! Looks like there are going to be quite a few Canadians on this cruise :) Those are great photos, it would be so neat to have been able to see the Wonder during its first time in Canadian waters!

I would have loved to do a surprise for my DS (4) but we talk about Disney WAY too much, lol, and so he knew when we were just discussing it. But I do hope to surprise him with the actual day that we leave. We might even be able to drive to Vancouver under the disguise of another reason and then surprise him when we get to the boat. (that's the bonus of him not knowing how to read the calendar properly yet, lol).

How old are your kids? My son is 4 and my daughter will be 13 months.

Glad to have you aboard!

Thanks for the welcome. Our girls are 10 and 6. I've been surprised by how many 'kidless' cruisers there are. Reading through this thread I've been starting to worry that the kids won't have anyone to play with. Hehehe...part of the attraction for DH was finding out there were adult only lounges on board :lmao:

Welcome FergusBC! I think there will be LOTS of first-time cruisers, and first-time DIS cruisers aboard the ship (including FH and myself), so you're in good company! ;) Welcome to the group! :)

I'm not sure how to make it "better" for printing as an iron on (not so much color space) without making it look weird, if anyone wants to take the large image and try to alter it, I'm totally fine with that. Alternatively, if you were to order shirts from somewhere that will print them for you, then it wouldn't be a problem to use the original.

I don't think you should do anything to it....it looks great!!!! Hopefully we can have some silkscreened for those who want t-shirts

I DEFINITELY want a shirt!!! :cool1:

I've got one of those iron on things where you print to the iron on and then put it on the shirt. The one I have is for dark colored shirts. If we do shirts, is one person going to do them and then we all pay that person, or is everyone responsible for getting their own? I kinda like the latter, personally. I think we should all do our own. If each person does their own, are we going to do white shirts, black shirts? I assume the pic will be on the front. Anything for the back? Maybe JUST the wording "Pirates of the Pacific" in that same font. Crystal, do you think you could whip something like that up so that it'd be in the EXACT same font? What do you guys think about the shirts - all make our own or one person does it and everyone pays them?

I think we should do our own as well....unless we find a silkscreener - than it's more cost effective to have them all done by him. i would actually prefer to have the image on the back...on our last cruise we had the image on the back and also had a cast member badge design on the front left chest area with our names. We had 4 different families - and each family had a different color shirt...so we had pink, one had blue, one had white & i think one had green or maybe yellow

That works for me! But I think we've got a lot more than 4 families (but perhaps not everyone will participate in the shirts? :confused3). Anyways, I call black for me and FH if we end up doing a different color T-shirt for each family. I know he'll want green, but I think the picture would look better on black than green. ;)

I also really like the idea of putting the picture on the back, with just "Pirates of the Pacific" and "Vancouver to LA ~ September, 2011" on the front where the pocket would normally go. Ya know, IF that's possible for us all to do that! :)

I think we should probably all be responsible for our own, that way we all end up with them the way we want, and don't have to have them all the same. We can choose our own colors, where/how we want the logo, etc...

I don't think we need to have separate colors, I wouldn't want anyone to feel like they got stuck with the only colors left, if ya know what I mean?

I can definitely make up separate designs - one of just the image, and another of just the wording, then those that want to do logo on the back and wording on the front can do that too.

I'm off to re-work the images, back in a flash :):thumbsup2

ooops - wasn't really clear on that....we actually had about 120 families in our DIS group...but just 4 families in my own little group that we made our own graphic design for...definitely agree that everyone should just choose whatever color shirts they want for themselves/their group. the awesome grapic design Crystal has made will look good on any color!!! and we should find each other easily!!

THANKS!!!! I like the idea of just the wording on the pocket area!!!

and on another note....
HAPPY HAPPY Mother's Day to all!!!
