Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

One of my fellow cruisers LCTsMOm posted this on mu 9/3 thread:

ETA: I've gotten responses to my fellow cruiser's question.

Chip chip went the cricket, because it was so quiet....

Hello ladies! Well I got my ressies for my cruise! Brunch and Palo! I am super excited. We leave for our Alaska cruise on Friday and I am so frazzled with getting everything together that I haven't had a free moment to get excited about it. If this were our disney cruise I would have us all packed. But nooooo I haven't even gotten Eric's suit cleaned. But hey I got all A's in my classes! :cool1: Oh yeah! I just wanted to check in and I hope every one is doing well!

:jumping1: Have a fantastic Alaskan cruise, I forgot about the drama surrounding that. Hooray on your ressies and your excellent grades too! We'll miss you! We'll be awaiting your return. popcorn:: :wave2:

Well, we've been doing Summer stuff. I'm slowly collecting cruise wear, got the kids new sandals and some summer clothes, celebrated a birthday....busy just all around since the kids are home.

I loved your photos of Montreal. It looks like you all had a great time in a beautiful city. How long were you there? Were you visiting family or just on vacation? Are you still in Montreal?

Wow it's been quiet around here! Well Alaska was beautiful! We had such a great time, but we are very much DCL people. Princess did not stand up to our expectation at all. From the second we got on the ship it was a hard sell to buy dinner reservation at thier verstion of Palo. We were asked twice in 10 minutes during the sail away buffet. Then there is the nickle and dime effect. Soda is $1.50 each which can add up along with everything else. The food was bad the first 2 nights but improved to great by the last night. The desserts were good.

The kicker was the service. It was hot and cold. We either had great or horrible service, and that is not what we were used to. The way that they have their grutuities set up is that your room is automatically charged $10 a day for each person. So a total of $140 for Eric and I. Now that is the minimum I would pay for Disney, but this was far from Disney. So we choose to pay our gratuties on our own, which was an optition, but you had to request it once your onboard.

There were other issues, but I won't go into them. Needless to say the ship turned out to be just a vessel to get us from port to port. We loved Alaska, but won't do it again unless it's with Disney. We are so looking forward to our Sept. cruise now! Disney will look like the Queen Mary now in comparison!

But don't get me wrong, we had a great cruise. It really was about being with our family and we had so much fun with all 20 of us together. We really are a nutty crew! We saw the most breathtaking glaciers, whales, seals and bald eagles. It was amazing! I will post pictures later.

Well rather than try and pick out the best pictures from our trip I just made a new folder in Photobucket. Use the link below and under search type in : amandaeric01

It's all under the folder Alaska. Enjoy!

Welcome home, Amanda!!! Sorry you didn't like Princess. princess: I have never sailed with them but I have heard great things about them for the most part. I'm glad you liked Alaska. We would like to go there next year maybe. Depends on $$$$$
T, sounds like you have been very busy. We flew into New Hampshire and spent time with my side of the family. (that's where I am from). We went to Montreal for 3 days and then spent a day in Boston and another day in Maine. :moped: Busy busy busy. We got back and went to work the next day at the Daytona Speedway for the Pepsi 400. Money is good. Unfortuantely, I'm not a Nascar fan. :confused3

me too. :(

Hello ladies. Let's try again. Click on the link

http://photobucket.com/

Then in the upper right hand is a search option, type in: amandaeric01

Then the top of the page will have the word Alaska in blue and that's the folder. Just click on that and there ya go!

Well I can't believe how close my real cruise is. Only 2 months away. I have to really buckle down and save some money. I hate this part just before a cruise. I want the cruise to get here, but I am so bad about saving for it. I have paid off the big things like the resort and the cruise it's self, but our spending money and the money for the dining plan aren't paid for. And I really don't want to charge it all. Oh well no eating out for the next two months. Which is always hard when it gets too hot to cook. We will be eating alot of BBQ!

Tries to look again, Amanda. I found your albums but there were none named Alaska. :confused3 By the way, did you wear your Stewart Weitzman shoes on your cruise??
