Maybe I've missed some examples, but can someone share with us how much they got their flight for under this "oopsy fare" and from where you are originating?

Has anyone ever flown Aer Lignus? They seem to be very reasonable. New York to Barcelona is less than $500. Just wondering, since we are doing our own airfare.

I have flown Aer Lingus twice. The first time was for the 2007 WB TA, from Dulles to Barcelona. We flew overnight and landed in Dublin about 7:30am. Our connecting flight to Barcelona didn't leave until 5:30pm, so we left the airport and took the on-off bus around Dublin. It was a good introduction to the city. The Dublin airport has a lot of good places to eat, so it's not a bad place to be even if you have a shorter layover. We booked about 6 weeks before the cruise, and paid about $500 one way.

The plane itself was comfortable (and my husband is 6'3"), except... the arm between the seats only went halfway up, so I couldn't "curl up" very well to get some sleep. There was a TV screen at each seat, with lots of channels and even games (like Sudoku).

We flew Aer Lingus again after our April 2008 EB TA on the Emerald Princess. The cruise ended in Barcelona, but since we had just been there for almost a week before the Disney TA, we spent a week on the coast of Spain, in Denia, between Valencia and Alicante. We flew to JFK, again through Dublin, from Alicante, again for about $500 each. This time the arm rests did go up, so it was more comfortable.

I have another TA to Rome booked on Celebrity Solstice for April 2009. This time we are planning to go to Disneyland Paris for the week after the cruise. I just checked air from Paris on Aer Lingus, and it is only $400. But I have another TA, Celebrity Equinox, booked from Rome in November 2009, so I am waiting to see what RT air will be by combining the two trips. I expect Aer Lingus to be cheaper booking separate one-way trips, and I won't hesitate to fly them again if the price is right (i.e. cheaper).

A question for all those that have flown aer lingus...

What airplane actually took you to dublin? Was is an aerlingus or a code share partner? And what airport did you fly out of?

Thanks
S

Our airfare and transfers are $957.80/ea Philadelphia-Barcelona/Orlando-Philadelphia with Disney. I will be checking for cheaper airfare as we get closer but for now I am staying with Disney.

All of our AerLingus flights (two each trip) were AerLingus planes. They were IAD-DUB, DUB-BCN, ALC-DUB, and DUB-JFK.

That's per person, right, Maureen? What that an oopsy fare? If so, I must have got the oopsy fare, too.

I got airfare and transfers from Columbus, OH-Barcelona/Orlando-Columbus for $982.90 for one person. My TA did tell me to book fast if I wanted it because the DCL rep she was working with made a comment that "there's something wrong with these fares, so if your client wants it, she better do it soon".

Yes, that is per person. I am hoping as we get closer that I can cancel the orlando/philadelphia segment because with SW or AirTran I know I can get it for less.

I think the oops fare from LA was around $500 per person.

We flew Aer Lingus for the WBTA 2007. We also flew out of NY. I thought they were great. Awesome price. We are flying with them again for the WBTA 2010. Each seat has it's own TV. You could watch tons of movies, TV programs. They also have video games for the kids, with their own controllers.
They also served dinner to everyone--at no cost. We had a full chicken dinner--rolls & everything.
I highly recommend them!

Jenn

Good to hear. We were looking at flights out of Newark, but the one-way on Continental (whom I hate) was close to $1700 (while the r/t was around $600, go figure) and SAS was reasonable as well. But we were thinking of flying out of JFK instead on Aer Lingus, hoping for a Thursday, 9/16 red eye. We can have a DIS meet on the plane!

We found out tonight that DD booked a print job tomorrow for Mattel! We are very happy for her.

It is really bad timing because I am room mom and we are having our big Harvest Party tomorrow but somehow I will make it all work! These are the days when I wish DH was not in Northern California during the week so he could help with the driving to LA!

I will just be busy getting everything together before we have to leave to head up to LA. She has never worked for Mattel so we are excited.

Next goal....book a Disney Cruise Commercial so we get a free vacation! :rotfl: We have friends that just shot a Carnival commercial and her and her mom got a 7 night cruise free. We would love to get that with Disney Cruise!

Hi everyone-I'm Jane,(I think I have managed to get connected to you all-I am not at all computer savvy).
I only learned of this site thru my sister,Marilyn(also going on the cruise). Although I have taken 2 other disney cruises, this one won't be with all the siblings & nieces & nephews & parents, who went on the last one with us.
So...it is great to get a chance to meet so many of you before we even start our journey. I guess I should keep this short (since we have almost 2 years to post each other) but first I want to extend an invitation to anyone in the Savannah area that can make it to our Halloween Party. It will be on Sat.
Nov.1st at 6:30. We're having a Pig Roast with all of the southern trimmings. And if the shrimp boats come in--plenty of fresh local shrimp. We live on Whitemarsh Island. It would be so nice to meet anyone from this area.
Oh, and I have already decided that for next years' party, I am going to make it a Pirates' Halloween Theme. (Had I only thought of it sooner....)
I look forward to hearing from everyone. I already feel like I know some of you just from the few posts that I have read.
Have a great day, Jane

I'm so glad my sister finally got on this board. She is busy running her BnB, but she will probably end up being much more active than I am! She is definitely more "social" than me.

My DH and I are at the Food & Wine Festival now for two weeks, so I can only check the posts when I get back to the room at AKV (unless I sneak it in before we leave in the morning). For anyone coming here in the next week, there are less culinary and wine seminars than offered in the past. That means more time standing in line to be sure of a seat.

Oh well, we are still having a great time!

Marilyn

If you end up chartering a whole plane can you pop into Manchester please, you fly over us anyway, we will nip through the perimter fence and wait by the runway. I reckon we get about 4 minutes before security catch up with us. :-)

Sure! :thumbsup2

I booked at 5AM AZ time which was when the phone lines opened up and I got the 999 airfare but on the same phone call I booked my parents EB Trans and air and their air was $600 per person so I think the "oops" air was only the EB flights. I called back at teh end of the day and had them research it and was told that both airfares were correct. The next day they changed the EB airfare to the higher rate but did nto change our rate.

Well I don't feel so bad now...I thought it was on ours too. I kept saying, why didn't I add it in the morning? Now I guess it would not have mattered.

Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone :goodvibes

Do any of you know how far in advance of our cruise will DCL list their excursions for our cruise?
I know you cant book them until the proper time but I am anxious to see what they offer.

Thanks,

Kathy
