Good Afternoon everybody - I did a dumb thing last night and did not close our windows before going to bed. Woke up this morning and our bedroom was 54 degrees!!!!!! I didn't want to move. It is REALLY cold in Florida so for all those coming to visit - bundle up!!!! It is suppose to be Florida "normal" by the weekend.

It was 38 degrees here in south Mississippi!!! I did remember to close the window, but the house was still cold!!! The days are wonderful.

Hard isn't it? Marika is 11 now (not 9--but I am a very average 5'5") and as of last week is taller than I am. Sooooooo not okay. Sheesh the way Rio has been growing lately he'll be close to my size by the tiem we take this cruise and Marika will likely tower over me--so not fair

Pirates--we do not have costumes themed to the movies, but we do all dress up (obvious form the siggy, right?).

Cold weather--sorry all of you are so cold. We are chilly also--but we are used to it here in NH.

Well Destin is actually the Captain's son. I don't have children yet and unless I end up with someone 6 feet tall I hate to see how short they're going to be with my little genes!!

Kimberly, even w/tall genes mixed in it doesn't always work the way you'd like. I'm 5'2" (never got picked for the basketball team ) and DH is 6'4" (I get a lot of hate mail from tall women ). My DDs are all between 5'3 and 5'5. So, who knows? You throw the genetic dice and you never know where they'll land. Being short doesn't bother me unless I'm in a crowd and can't see a thing (e.g., castoff party) or I can't reach something up high.

Stephanie, are you the one who created the logo with the flags? I just love that so much. Whoever did it, you are wonderfully creative.

Yeah, I know about the genetic gamble. I blame my mother for not at least trying to find someone tall. She is 5'2" and my dad is 5'8" so I didn't even fall in between. I also blame my mother because she said she never drank coffee until she was pregnant with me (3rd child). Couldn't she have waited a few more months to pick up her new habit??

But honestly, it doesn't bother me either. I don't have to wonder if the kids are going to be taller than me (right now meaning nieces and nephews), I just wonder at what age it will happen. (Luckily they all have some short genes too so it's not as early as with other kids. )

In the picture with Mickey below, my brother was 18, my sister was 14, and I was 11. Aren't we all tiny??

I didn't even think about it being Talk Like a Pirate Day when we're on the cruise! How exciting!!!!
