Disney Girl, could you please send me a link to your wedding link on The Knot. My DD told me about The Knot last night because I wanted to look online at wedding gowns and wedding favors. I'm getting married on the Wonder 5/22/09.

Bev

I just PMed it to you, so you should get it soon! :)

OMG is it windy! I couldn't believe it! I looked out the window here at work and the trees were blowing so hard, I thought one may fall down! Windy and rainy...what a Saturday!

Earlier today, it was so windy and pouring out. Then it cleared up for awhile and now it got dark out again and looks like it's going to pour. Maybe they'll call off the game tonight.:confused3

TheDisneyGirl02 - have you ever gone to Shady Maple Smorgasbord near Lancaster? Sometimes we drive down there for breakfast. It's about 1 1/2 hours from my house. My nephew lived in Quakertown and recently moved to Chalfont. We'll be visiting him on 10/31. I'm already in my costume as a Disney Nut. :rotfl2:

I've been to Shady Maple but only for dinner! It is a great place! I love their bacon dressing! I want to take DF there sometime.

I pass Chalfont on my way to DF's house! Have you ever had dinner at Cheeburger, Cheeburger? We love that place!

We were talking about taking my Grandpa to Shady Maple for his birthday today. But he did not want to go out in the rain. I live in Berks County. I am willing to drive, then again I spend my days driving. My office I am based out of is in Allentown. Our main office is in Manor, PA near Plymouth Meeting so I am there every other month. I am in Valley Forge pretty often.

Hard pretzels,( Sturgis, Snyders, Unique) locally made potato chips,(Diefenbach, Utz), Wise Snacks, shoe fly pie, Tastykake, Chicken pot pie, Faschnachts, Bolonga, Yuengling, Heinz ketchup, rock candy, Just Born(Peeps, Mike and Ikes), water ice, pierogies, hard toy sugar candy are also some other local PA things.

No wonder I am overweight.;) :rolleyes1

Who all is from PA? Where in PA? Would you be interested in some sort of meet? If so where and when would you like to meet?

We live in Philly. I'd be interested in a meet. What area do you live in? I don't mind driving if it's not too far.

Bev

We live in Upper Chichester about 5 minutes from the DE state line. We would be interested in a meet.

Another vote here for Cheeseburger Cheeseburger we have one near us also. We have been to Shady Maple once liked that also.

DH's family always has shoefly pie for the holidays! His aunt and sister have tried to teach me to make it, but sadly, I've yet to have a success. Something about an island of sugar surrounded by a sea of molasses ....:rotfl2:

How about a DISmeet at Shady Maple Smorgasbord? It's off the PA turnpike and the food is good. They certainly have a big selection and I love their pies. Disneygirl, since this was your idea, what do you think? Shady Maple is not open on Sundays.

Bev

:scared1: It's only been a day and a half - I can't believe how chatty you all are!!!:lmao:

Oh please share!!

Here's a piece I bought last spring. I get comliments from people whenever I wear it. **BLING!!**

I would LOVE to have the coordinating ring, too!

Kimberly - I love the matching ring. Both my sisters have it!!!

Although I am not sure if I will participate due to weight and I do not need know if I need the potential weight on my body.;)

Okay - a PA meet would be fun! I live in Hatboro and I'm the future MIL for TheDisneyGirl02!!!

BTW - count me in for individual FE's (not sure what yet but will definitely be light!!!!) and also count me in for the candy swap - I'll bring Peanut Chews!!!!

I'm in any excuse to go to Shady Maple again is ok with me:cool2: :cool2:

I am in for the FE and candy.
Also, on the last cruise Eric Jason and Hadley ordered lanyards and several members pitched in... I saw someone mentioned them for this cruise. I would love to help out with donations if we are doing that again. The lanyards we got for the last cruise were very neat and they were my favorite of the things I got on that trip!! The lanyards were soft and personalized with our cruise logo name and the sailing date and in the plastic sleeve, was our Dis name, real name and our logo picture ... I loved them (Thank you Eric!)

Shirley, I agree! Erik, Hadley, and Jason made a great choice, and they were awesome! They put a lot of time and effort into that project for us!

Here's a pic I took for my scrapbook while we were waiting in the port terminal. For the most part, it shows off the lanyard pretty well.

Wow, that lanyard is just beautiful! Do you know where it came from?

I like the lanyards also. I am willing to donate to the purchase of them. I think they are a nice remembrance from the cruise and you can also identify fellow disers from our group.

Also, someone made up name tags with our Dis name and real name. They were real neat.

Hey, I'm in for a meet at Shady Maple! We go all the time. The food is great!

I did know what company they used, but I'm afraid I've forgotten. Therefore, I'll have to defer the question to Erik and Hadley. They truly were nice, and I appreciated that they choose the safety breakaway in the back. IMO, that just isn't an option, rather a requirement. Also, as Shirley mentioned, the lanyard fabric was very soft and a comfortable width.

You're right! They are great identifiers for a DIS friend! We had 473 DISers along with their family and friends on my roll call database, and we had 300 (with maybe 2 to spare) people who chose to receive them.

The red logo you see there is the name tag in the plastic sleeve. Right under my name is my DISboard name (you can just barely see the "B"). In appreciation for their financial contribution, on the backside, Erik listed the DISers who were on the "Lanyard Team". I understand this is what they did for the EB TA last summer as well.

We loved ours as well Kudos to Erik, Jason, and Hadley for all the hard work on them! I had many people the first day or so onboard ask where they could buy them. I loved that they were not a wide band like the Castaway Club ones we saw if that makes any sense.

Hey everyone! Thanks for sayign nice things about the lanyards. The origianl idea camce from Ken who provided them to US on the first (Eastbound) transatlantic. Erik and I loved them so much we spearheaded the acquiring of them for the double dip I THINK Erik already posted very early on that he would head that up again and I told him I will be happy to assist again. Sooooooo, it is EALRY to be gathering inforamtion, BUT if you already want to be on the "team" who contribute to the funding of this please PM me (please do not expect me to get it off the thread--I honestly have to skim or I cannot keep up and I could easily miss someone). We will post the team names when it gets MUCH closer to sailing time and the team is all listed on the back of the nametags as well (DISnames). THANKS.
