Good Luck Everyone!

I have been offered a sofa to surf across the Atlantic in 2010, so fingers crossed that all the elements come together. If they do, I might be sailing with this crazy group, we'll see.

OH how cool! He is going to love it. If anyone need any recommendations for private tours, I can always check to see if I still have the cards for the private tours. I really recommend Pompeii to be done privately if you can swing it. We had a bit more time there and we managed to hit both Herculaneum and we climbed Mt. Vesuvisus. It is not an extremely difficult climb but depending on the time you go - its hot or cold. We hit a cloud which made it cool and thank God vey bearable otherwise, we would have died from exhaustion. It is a bit bare up there but at least you can say you climbed Mt. Vesuvius. Or however you spell it.

I'm going to admit I am a bit jealous but heck, I'm just happy I'm coming on the return! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see you all again - and we definitely need to ketchup on this one. BTW, you all dressing again? :)

Will be hitting you up for those private tours for the Med .... those always turn out to be better ...

Absolutely, if you decide to climb Mt. Vesuvius please wear closed toed shoes. It is a volcano so you are climbing loose shale like rock. It is an uphill climb not super hard but not easy. If your in shape - it will get your heartrate up but not too taxing. If your out of shape, get in cardio shape. Your 10-night is going to be very port intensive and you might want to stock up on vitamins.

We ended up hiring a local guide at Pompeii who "graciously" accompanied us to Mt. Vesuvius (she climbed it too) and then got another guide to give us a little 5-minute history on the eruption right there on the mountain. We ended up giving the 2nd local guide about 10 or 20 euros for that part but it brought the eruption to life especially seeing how some cloud vapor was visible. The first guide then gave us an extended tour of Herculaneum so we managed to hit all 3 spots in one day. We got back in plenty of time about 1 1/2 hrs before the ship sailed. Pompeii is to die for -if your into that sort of stuff. I heard from other groups that took a DCL excursion that they did not allow nearly enough time there. I say we spent easily about 3+ hrs there which totally satisfied my urge to visit Pompeii. The only spot I did not see was the Amphitheatre. I did however, manage to sneak into the House of Ill-Repute. :rolleyes1 AND....since this is a family board - it was not bad but the "menu" certainly let you know where you were at. :rolleyes1

On the TA WB, we stayed in a small apt further away and we again called 2 taxis (we all had more luggage) and made it that way.

Also, assuming they are berthed at the same place, there is only one Muella and the taxis should know where it is - if all else fails, just ask for the Disney Ship location.
Or as we were told just say Mickey Mouse and do the mouse ears. This worked for a few people lol

Good luck all. I'm in work for another hour then heading home to steak out the DCL website! Why oh why am I booking this way lol! I've been up all night in panic mode and I'm running on coffee. This is insane!

I'm still up here too in Las Vegas. Not necessarily waiting up, we would be up at this hour anyway. Now I'm just debating if I stay up till 5 or try to sleep for a couple hours and then get up and start calling.

:rotfl: Forgot about that - yes that works very well. Keep in mind, that according to a couple of taxi drivers, most Barcelonians speak 2-4 languages - Spanish, Catalano (or however you spell it) including some English and many some form of French or other language. And of course, the universal language of Mickey Mouse. :teeth:

Good morning all! It's 5:20EST, and I'm up (for reasons unrelated to this cruise). I open my browser this morning, and realize I have no internet! I'm on a PDA, but this is NOT going to work for booking... aack! Seriously, this would happen.... lol.

Good luck to all of us in a few short hours!

God! Nightmare! Just stay positive!

I will be booking this cruise in 30 min, but I can not join your group as I hate Jack Sparrow and refuse to do just about anything that he is linked to. That character ruined my whole vision of a pirate. Still look forward to seeing you on board.

And we're back! I just needed to reset the router, for some reason. Let's hope it works throughout the morning, as long as I need it to! :thumbsup2
What a panic! Glad you are back up now.

:rotfl2: I'm so glad to see you on the cruise. Did you get any sleep or just stay up?

I tried to go to bed early, but ended up staying up late. Then I woke up in the night. I debated just staying up, but did end up falling asleep again for about 1.5 hours before the alarm went off. No snooze button for me this morning though!:rotfl2:

Good Luck everyone and post as you get booked!:wizard:

I'm manning my post! :rotfl:

(Is it pitiful that I totally have 2 phones with DCL on redial, and 2 computers set up? Ok, then is it pitiful that I have bottles and a can of formula up here in case my girls decide to wake up while I'm trying to book? :rolleyes1 )

:teeth:

:rotfl: I am right there with you, I have 3 phones and 1 computer! :lmao:

This is nuts! I do not even have enough hands to control all of these devices!!! :lmao:
