(which is exactly why I wanted to cut it, because I didn't want to have to carry all that stuff with me!! :lmao:)

Very, very nice. I am getting my hair cut on Sept 14 but still have not decided just how short I want it. It is short now but I can go even shorter.

 Oh dear!! Thankful that he did not damage his eyes while doing this bit of trimming!

Yes, we were very thankful for this as well. Guess it was good they were "safety" scissors! We tried to put the fear of God into him about just what a stupid thing it was that he did, and how lucky he was that he didn't hurt his eye, which could not be replaced!

The craziest thing? He was sitting on the couch with DH when this happened.

So today was totally wasted by a stomach bug that I picked up somewhere. Yesterday I was feeling funny but I thought it was the new injectable medicine I just started. I worked at the Disney Store last night and I felt pretty bad the entire night. When I finally got home, I started to feel really sick and sadly I didn't really sleep much at all last night. I sent my poor husband away for the day so he doesn't catch it too. I hate, hate, HATE being sick.

Although I felt sick all day, I found out some news that truly made me sicker. My sister called me this morning and told me that a mother of one of her former student's passed away on Thursday. She was only 33 and had three children, one who is only 2. My sister was really torn up about it. A couple of hours later, I was going through my Facebook and I saw my one friend hadn't posted anything for a while so I went to her page. I started reading her wall and people were posting about "missing her" and that they "would see her in heaven". Here my friend who is just days younger than me passed away in April. I went to college with her and she was the kindest person who cared about everyone. She suffered from anorexia for years and sadly I think it was her heart that gave out, though I don't know for sure. It makes me sad to think that Nikki isn't here anymore. She always loved ladybugs so whenever I see a ladybug from now on, I'll think of her.

I hoping to get some cruise related things down tomorrow. I'll have to see how I feel...I'm finally hungry again but I'm eating very carefully because I don't want a repeat performance of last night.

I hope everyone is doing well! :)

So sorry to hear you were under the weather today. I hope you will feel better in the morning.

I think it is hard when you get news of someone so young passing away. It is especially hard I think when they leave small children behind.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and their families during these hard times.

Sandi, it sounds like being stuck in a sardine can. Glad you had a good day anyway!

Erik, I like to new 'do! Very nice!

I AM ALIVE!!! WDW was not crowded today, but the monorail ride was from hell. We stopped between The Contemporary and the MK Park for one hour with no air!! They kept saying that the monorail in front of us had mechanical problems, but I am going to try googling and see if that is the truth or they had a medical emergency or something. It was unbelievable. If I was there for one day, I would have been upset. We got on the Monorail at 2:00 and did not make it back to Epcot till almost 3:30! It was exhausting and in the 90's today.

I'm not so jealous anymore but that really would have sucked!

OK...so here is what my hair looked like before noon today......
I am still getting used to it...but I like it and it's going to be a lot easier to take care of I'm sure!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Love it! Very stylish and much more easy to care for.

From what I am reading - you do NOT tip the taxi drivers in Barcelona.

If you felt like you really need to tip, maybe just round it up a bit. We don't tip here either so with a taxi, you can if you wish round it up to the nearest $/Euro but its not expected. Also I found an estimate for 25-30 euros for the taxi to Ramblas - does anyone else have any idea? Just worried I might not have enough cash now...

I
I have absolutely no faith that the eyelashes will grow back, especially not before school and not before the cruise. We may get by with the 1/2 eyebrow for the cruise. When you meet my DS, please promise not to laugh!

OMG thats hysterical! Hopefully it won't show up in the pictures. Did you take photos for his 21st?

Yeah that designer is a bossy thing! Although I was surprised at how forceful a tongue lashing was given - but well deserved!!

I can`t get my head around the money either. So we have 350 euros in cash for Barcelona, three nights there. We`ll use £`s in Gib. Don`t think we`ll need much in Madeira but we`ll keep a few euros back.
For the ship we`ve OBC and will use the card though I`ve $750 in TQ`s. I`ve also got $100 in $1 bills for bar and room service tips. I didn`t want a 100 but due to a slight mix up in M&S that`s what I got! Tortola and St Martaan are fine with $.
I don`t like to rely totally on CC`s as I`m always worried they are refused but we`ll be using those for certain.

We know where to come if we run out of $1's!!!;)

Sorry Paula and Mandy - I think you'll find he's taken... ;)

Me and Dave last year. What can I say..? Sorry!!

Not that I know who he is  but very funny!!!!

:eek::eek: I had to cancel.....:guilty::guilty:

All commitments at work that is between Sept 3 and October 10th. I think my crewmate at work is going to be happy when I leave. He won't hear me saying "XXX days and XXX hours to go" anymore.

For the new cruisers welcome aboard. I am Jon and my DW is Candida (Photographer Goofy). This will be our second Disney Cruise. We'll be joining our dear friends Bob and Lyn (Lyn9856) on the cruise. Looking forward to finally boarding the plane in Toronto in less than 5 days, 23 hours, 43 minutes to begin the adventure.

Can't wait to see everyone in less than 3 weeks :cool1:

Jon

Oh my, you got me there!!! So pleased it isn't true!!!!

Hi and welcome.

Also, The Land was down, not working, Test Track fast pass line was not working and something else was down, but cannot think of it. I told the CM by the Land that every ride seems to have some kind of malfunction today. He said he has heard that quite a bit. Anyway, after the torrential rain, and the fabulous dinner in Mexico, we are now home. We had a fab time, but never made it to the MK.

Hope everyone is well and will catch up tomorrow. I had to write to all my dis friends on the boards thinking I might not make it out alive. By the way, the monorail was standing room only and no water!!!! Okay, I am done venting!

That is a total nightmare in that heat. Plus the monorails smell pretty bad at the best of times so stuck with no aircon!!!

What lovely hair you have. I love the new look, but you look great however you have your hair!!:thumbsup2

We went on a shopping trip to the mall today. I got a purple top for villian night and will wear black slacks with it. Dennis is undecided as to whether he needs to buy a purple shirt, or just confiscate our DS's purple shirt and tie since they wear the same size. They did have some amazing sales going on though. We got him 3 pair of shorts, 2 Tees and a polo all for $31! Good shopping....and yep, I'm finally getting my Montana guy into shorts!! :rotfl2::rolleyes1 We also got him a new pair of crocs. His feet are happy!

I have a purple T Shirt. I think John will just wear his black polo shirt. I guess nobody will realise we are dressed for the theme night!!!! But at least I will have made a little effort.

I can't remember if it has been mentioned before, but I have been wondering about tipping in Spain, so have Googled it.

Basically the answer is no or very little. They are paid enough apparently and don't expect anything. You can round up a little at meals or buying drinks. Never tip a taxi driver!!!!

Found this question and answer which will help:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...6082140AAlFvPI

I posted something similar a month or so ago, but general consensus seemed to be that folk would tip anyway. I bet they love Americans!!!:lmao:

You had me worried there for a second until I read further down ..... naughty !!

You had me going there.

I know what you mean about people at work being glad when I am finally gone. I have been driving them mad with this one for nearly two years now.

Corinna

My workmates are so sick of me counting down that a lot of them now beat me to it .... they just say "how many days?" everytime they see me. :woohoo:

Your hair looks great in all of those 3 styles. The shorter one will be a lot easier to manage on the cruise though.

I have to confess that someone in this house got an unauthorized haircut today. Unfortunately. And it isn't one I would have wished for this close to the start of a new school year, and this close to our cruise. Especially since we've focused on making sure everyone has nice outfits so we can hopefully get some good family pictures.

My DH was blessed with extremely long eyelashes. My children were also blessed with the same long eyelashes, especially my son, and everyone has drooled over them since he was a baby. Tonight, my son decided to cut his top eyelashes off (both eyes) and 1/2 one eyebrow with the scissors he was using to cut out something for my DH!

I have absolutely no faith that the eyelashes will grow back, especially not before school and not before the cruise. We may get by with the 1/2 eyebrow for the cruise. When you meet my DS, please promise not to laugh!

Oh no ... why do kids do such crazy things :confused3:confused3

So sorry to have been under the weather with an upset stomach. And so sorry to hear about your friends.....very sad :sad2:

I won't be able to get on with much cruise related tasks today even though I have a day off as we are all going to a wedding this afternoon. Typically the British weather has let the side down completely. I ordered DS a new pair of trousers and when he tried them on yesterday they were too tight, so this mornings mission is to buy a bigger pair for him so I am off to the shops, before coming back to get ready for the wedding at 3pm. The wedding should be a nice chance to relax for a few hours.

I also think the cold I have been brewing for a few days is finally about to make an appearance .... I really hope so to be honest, as everyone else in the family has had it and I need to get it over and done with before the cruise.

Only 6 more work shifts ahead of me, though if they are anything like yesterday's shift which was a complete nightmare, I don't think I will make it with my sanity intact. The cruise can't come soon enough now. :yay:

I can`t get my head around the money either. So we have 350 euros in cash for Barcelona, three nights there. We`ll use £`s in Gib. Don`t think we`ll need much in Madeira but we`ll keep a few euros back.

Thats kind of the way were thinking about it too "what if CC's get refused?"

We've only got 1 night in Barcelona so Im thinking maybe 200 Euros? Then we have like 6 nights in WDW after the cruise so I'm thinking maybe $1000 to last? Weve got the meal plan and weve got Disney tickets sorted. I'm thinking that way we can use some of it for Room service etc. Still don't know if this is enough!

Oh thought of something us UK people need to do Phone Credit Cards and let them know we are going abroad

Ok everyone, I have heard from 6 members and there are 3 that would rather keep the group at the amount that it is.

So, the groups that are posted on page 1 are now final, and the FE Exchange is officially closed out!

See ya all in 3 weeks!

Well done on all your hard work Sue! You are a star! (Oh and well done Glenn for the website!) :worship:

From what I am reading - you do NOT tip the taxi drivers in Barcelona.

I think in my research into ereaders, someone said the Kindle doesn't read epub documents, so I think I'm actually happy that it's .pdf version instead of ePub as I await my new Kindle.
ooo, my nd has huge long eyelashe(doesnt get it from me) anyway, when she was little they used to curl up because of her glasses, now she cant wear mascara cause it gets on her specs:love: bless her, wish she was crusing with us.
I am totally bringing my own pillow. I would have a very hard time sleeping without it.

I am right there with you! I'm packing anti-bacterial wipes too and I will be wiping down my room also. After the stomach bug I just had, I don't want to risk it on the cruise!

She is a great author!

I'm missing Glee - many of you know I'm a HUGE Gleek, but at least I will see Desperate Housewives! :)

Welcome! I hope all of the procedures go well!

I read the book and didn't really enjoy it...HOWEVER I LOVED the musical! It's very different from the book and it's amazing!

Glad to hear that it was not cancerous... I'm sure that is a very big relief for you.

So today was totally wasted by a stomach bug that I picked up somewhere. Yesterday I was feeling funny but I thought it was the new injectable medicine I just started. We have never been on holiday abroad before!!! And are in the dark as to how much to budget. We got 500 Euros. We will need to pay for taxi in Barcelona from the airport to the hotel - 55 Euros and I'm thinking a 5 Euro tip  - . Thursday dinner is prepaid, as is the hop on hop off bus. So, any entrance fees we may need (have no idea how much to budget for this), and breakfast, lunch and HRC on Friday. Bus to the port is prepaid and I think we will pay for the hotel with our credit card. Then we need just lunch in Maderia and some souvineers at both. Maderia tour is DCL so will pay for that in US dollars on board. It seems 500 should be enough????:confused3

Sounds like a reasonable amount to me!
