I love the baby powder trick. Only took me 38+ years to learn it!

I also learned that if you sprinkle baby powder and brush it off with a small paint brush it is awesome.

If I can manage to get up early some morning(s), I would like to come try it. As long as you promise not to laugh! My primary yoga experience comes from my Wii Fit.

I may come too but I have never even tried yoga!!

So does this mean our Safeway Club card will work??

I would also like to know if this works. May email Safeway to ask.

So sorry to hear. Hope everything turned out okay.

Anyone planning or offering to do a group run?

So....are you volunteering....

This was still the policy on our December and January cruises. It seems like they've been more insistent recently about people leaving their luggage near the entrance. This worried me because I had my computer and tickets, etc in my bag and wanted to keep it in my sight.

I wear a neck wallet which you can buy in various colors at Ebags to avoid the ticket issues. I carry a bag that looks like a purse to avoid that problem.

I'm uncontrollable when it comes to FE gifts, especially for the girls! I overshopped for gifts, and am probably going to have to cut back on some of the heavier items since they're taking up too much weight and space. Since there were so few kids in my assigned FE groups, I'm actually trying to work out giving gifts to many of the kids (at least all the ones doing FE gifts.)

Welcome to the club. I just asked Sue if non concierge guests can ship ahead as I may have to send the

Barcelona is the only place I have ever been to that I did not feel safe. I grew up in a city with a fairly high crime rate (Frankfurt) and live in one now (Manchester), however, in both of them you are fine if you keep your smarts about you. Barcelona was different. Even staying alert at all times, I never felt safe. This is one of the reasons why we have opted to stay outside of Barcelona again. Molins de Rei is a lovely peaceful little place and even though quite close to Barcelona, it could not be any more different. Even for one night I want to have a safe haven to get back to.
Corinna

Our friends in-laws just came back from Barcelona two weeks ago. They are well travelled and live in San Francisco, pretty street wise. In the middle of the afternoon on La Ramblas, a middle aged, well dressed man walked by her and said to her, in English, "you've got something on the back of your sweater' and kept on walking away. Her husband looked and found someone had squirted catsup on her back. Still holding their purse and camera he used a napkin to wipe off the catsup and while their attention was on that someone else came up to them grabbed her purse and his camera and ran off. He took flight after him but fell. No one tried to help and the police didn't seem to care. It was nothing unusual, just another dumb tourist. Luckly, being the wise traveler, she had their passports and credit cards in a waist wallet. You can't be on guard every second only try your best. val

I am so sorry to hear this. Praying all goes well. Yes why is it out fur babies are getting sick or ill right before the cruise. Totally understand the vet bill. WE got away with just $600.00 last week :wizard::wizard:

Sounds a bit interesting--the title that is--but I bet it would cure insomnia if you had to read it! What exactly was it about?

Remember John wrote this in 1970. It means that when reading a computer memory soon after writing it may cause errors unless the write noise has dissipated (go away). John proposed a method to improve the speed of recovering the memory by surrounding the memory with carbon to dissipate the noise.

so does any one else have any packing tips ?

jason

ROLL ROLL ROLL

All your clothes, then they dont crease.

I'm a demon packer, no one can quite believe what i can pack into a case.

And on that subject im off to Argos tommorow (an catalogue based department store here in the UK) to get a holdall. With the ever growing list of stuff i'm bringing i can waste an ounce on the case.

Then i can offically start ROLL ROLL ROLL ing my clothes.

Michael I am going to follow you to the bus.

I'm going to be tailing you to the bus too Michael.

Thanks for the tip about the BBC. Never spend any time in downtown LA anymore since Bullocks Wilshire was gutted so can't comment. Usually spend time in Santa Monica, Malibu Huntington Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, or Pasadena area.

i guess like anywhere it has nice places

i was shocked how dingy la was

Our son, Stephen - who is cruising with us, would love to tour Germany. Since he starts HS next year, maybe we will do it for his HS graduation... I may have to hit you up for info! He is a history buff, and Germany has always been of interest to him.

Sure! You guys are more than welcome!!! Tell Stephen, I say HI!

Sephora is also a 'must'!:yay:
Oh, yes! I have been a BENEFIT addict for a veeery looong time!

I'm game!

Me tooooo!!! Could bring my Bayern Munich outfit aswell as Germany jersey.

Thanks ever so much for the link!! Do you know if they take credit cards the same as in the USA?

Since you seem to know a lot about Gibraltar, do we need to take many Gibraltar pounds? I was reading on many sites that you are really loosing a lot of money if you use Euros instead of Gibraltar pounds.

Credit cards - no problem!
We use credit cards for almost everything when we're on holiday/vacation even just a cup of coffee,we have one with no exchange fee, so usually change very little cash. However being from the UK Gibraltar won't affect us as we just use GB pounds.
Maybe we should start our own bank/ exchange for this trip.
See you two weeks Saturday:yay: - Jane& Dave

Hi Everyone- back on the boards and quickly glimpsed through everything and noticed the words "football" and "event". What is this and do you have to be a man???? Sign me up if you don't! I don't even know what it is, but I love football. I will wear my jersey!!! If someone can fill me in, I would appreciate it.

We have been busy getting my husband's company that he is starting up and running and I haven't had a chance to read.

I did read that someone is in the hospital and having surgery!! Ahh! I hope they are okay. Hayley - don't know if it is your child, but sending hugs!

Glad to hear others are doing well. I know some of you leave pretty soon. I was thinking of Erik and Jason - don't you guys leave Saturday????

Kimberly - LOVE the pillow case! I am slowly getting packed and taking care of paperwork. FE's, scrapbooks, other gifts, etc. are done and packed!

Make sure when you go to eat in Gibraltar that you ask if they take credit cards. Last time we were stranded and THANK GOD there was an :littleangel: from our cruise who said she would lend us the money. I got on the ship and gave her money. The pub did not take anything! The banks all had their "computers" down so they would not accept anything US.

A question for those of you who have been on the Magic more recently than us (it's been 4 1/2 years!). We were accustomed to the Disney process of hauling all of our carry-ons (carry-offs?) to breakfast with us on the final morning. Then we sailed on Holland America and Carnival and found we could leave everything in the stateroom until after breakfast and then go gather them. Is Disney still making you take everything with you? Seemed like quite a tripping hazard as families piled all of their belongings in every open space in the dining room.

On the Med cruise earlier this year, we still had to take our carry on to breakfast.

I'm game! Do you want to wait and see if anyone else is interested? If so, I can create an event for it. We're at sea on Saturday 9/25, so that might be a good day; by then we should only be 3 time zones from EDT, so football should start around 3:00pm. Are you aware of any conflicts?

Glenn

That day would also be good as its the Dis girls afternoon tea so maybe this could be the Dis blokes thing???

I think that is a fabulous idea!! Can we say it is an EVENT now?

LOL well I've added it to the Navigator so yes yes yes!!!!

Me tooooo!!! Could bring my Bayern Munich outfit aswell as Germany jersey.

Here's what I just put on the website. I can change the wording if you like (I'm just the tech guy, not the wordsmith) :surfweb:

Wear your team jersey for football and beer

Show your team spirit by wearing your favorite football* jersey and joining your fellow DISers for football and beer. 3:00 should be just in time for noon kickoff for games in eastern time zone. We'll make sure to get a few 'team pictures' of the gang in our jerseys (before and after a few beers)

* Football from either side of the pond

It doesn't have to be a blokes thing but is on at the same time as the ladies tea which was why I thought making it a blokes thing made sense!

The new one hasn't been finalised yet! We were waiting on the tastings to be confirmed! If these haven't been from the end of the week I'm gonna get it out anyway and then update later. Don't worry it is definately in there!

Excellent, thanks! If possible, could you add that it depends on weather (i.e., not if it's raining), and that people should bring a beach towel or two to cushion their hands and knees?

Thanks,
Richard

Hey Glenn - I just looked on the website. Do I register on roll call or the actual event?

Good Morning to all that travels West. On our last TA trip they never had football on the lounge TV. Is this something they don’t show or was my timing just off?

TA2

GO Pats

DS is a big Pats fan, odd since he's a California boy, but he's really hoping to catch the games. He would really love it if they showed them on the Ariel view, but doubt that will happen.
