So as you guys know I work nights, although I get to sleep around 5-6 hours if Im lucky, last night I went to bed with a sore throat, this am I woke up feeling like yuk, total full on cold....head,nose and I am so tired, been in bed all day, it sucks... now I have the dreaded D as well.
Dogs are doing my my head wanted walked and I cant go 10 mins radius of the toilet.
Better this week than next, but better not at all thankyou, and the worst is still to come cause I can promise you Len will catch it

Due to conflicts with Tea I am trying to swap Beer and Mojito. i am also trying to swap one of the Wine with Mixology.

Please don't stress about this if you can help it as we all are so very grateful for all the hard work you have put in to help us have wonderful tastings. I am sure it will all work out. Being somewhat of a perfectionist myself, I can appreciate just how you feel!!

6 days folks, and my list is not shrinking... And, on top of my vacation list I also have work!! sheesh!! I still have about 20 things to do!!! Seriously - how the heck did I get so far behind?

So this weekend we will be working our tails off to make sure the house is in proper condition for our return as well as wrapping up the last minute stuff...

for the house elves to get the house clean. The one lucky thing for us is that DD will be here to care for the house so all we have to do is change the sheets Monday morning before we leave.

DH will work like a madman all weekend to be sure he has off loaded all his work responsibilities. He took in all the company backup tapes from the closet yesterday so someone else could manage them while he is gone

All righty now..... I'm going to make a run to the airport this weekend to see if I can use this piece of luggage as my carry-on.

If not, I'm sunk. AND I think I just might have to take mismatched luggage But I need two huge bags to check and then I need a pretty good sized one to carry on and then I need my laptop bag as my personal item.

My case is full and I don't have my gowns, dinner wear, shoes or jeans packed. Only one week of underwear, no pirate outfit, no hair dryer!, no makeup. However, I do have all my fish extender gifts and the stuff for our door!!! Priorities...

My Disney luggage is adorable and green but this is a job for Travelpro.

Don't you wish that the airlines would have one standard for carry ons? We had to buy special carry ons for Air Berlin and with their Draconian policies on weight, we are paying more for the bags that for both of our flights!!

Thanks everyone for all the prayers. She's done better tonight than last night. So, praying through the night goes better. I can't take another 3 hr night of sleep! Thank God my DH comes home tomorrow night! She totally didn't want to take her medicine tonight and I told her this was the only way we were going to get to go on the cruise is if she took it so she got better. It worked! =) Then DS saw she was getting something and thought he was missing out. So, he was crying because he wanted the medicine. I was like I must be on a show where one is crying because they don't want the medicine. The other doesn't know what medicine is but is crying because he doesn't get any.

Prayers and the kids will be better soon. I am sure it will help when your DH is home to give you some respite with the kids.

Best of luck. I can't thank you enough for sorting out the tastings. Looking good. There are a couple of conflicts, but that is to be expected.

I know I'm sitting here wondering what I did for the past 23 months! I keep building this tower of stuff to take, and had no idea how I was supposed to squeeze all of this into any suitcase.

I am having the same dilemma. What on earth did I buy so much stuff? My suitcases list keep changing on a daily basis. I can't make up my mind what to leave behind! I guess my wet suit will not be making this trip due to weight. I get cold easily in the water so it will be a big sacrifice.

The only suitcase that is cast in concrete is the one that shipped yesterday!!

I have been saying this all day! You'd think that we would be ready by now since we are 6 days away from leaving for Barcy. And for me, my next day off isn't until we leave. Hopefully Amanda can get my
to do list done this weekend.

so I went to a different store today to get shapewear and I was successful. Not perfect, but comfortable. As it happens the store has a 20% off everything day, so i browsed the evening wear and actually tried one on. It was beautiful and I felt so good. But it would have needed shortening, and not a simple job either, so no time.
Anyway I looked in another department and they had one style in 2 colours slightly cheaper to start off with, and wow, they were great, and easy to shorted. so I picked one up. Had to ask the staff member and other customers which colour to choose. Now, if I wear my highest heels I can get away without shortening it, but they are black and the dress is blue. However, unless I quickly see some gold or silver very high sandals, they will have to do now as I don't have that long left, nor much money!!! I think silver would look best, but I already have a gold cover up and that would save me buying yet something else.
I'm feeling so much better now!!! John thinks I look great too and that is what matters.

Hi everyone,

I am settled in my new house and most of the boxes have been unpacked. The recycling guy almost had a heart attack when he saw all the stuff on the front lawn. I have just finished putting the last things in my suitcases and I fly out tomorrow to London to join the ABD Cities of Knights and Lights tour. Then off to Barcelona and then THE MAGIC. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. I will will keep you in my prayers that you have safe and comfortable flights. Good luck with your packing and preparations. See you soon, Trudy

I for one am totally impressed with your organizational skills. I don't think since I was a young student in University that it has taken me less than a month or two to be totally unpacked.

Hope you have a safe and comfortable flight as well. YourDisney ABD Cities of Knights and Lights tour sounds like lots of fun.

DH is working on the same type of things!! Please take care not to get too stressed as you will get more work done if you just realize that for most people being stressed causes you to slow down!!

DH is terrible with laundry so I him pack all of the things that I wanted him to take on the trip so his portion of packing is done. All he has to this weekend is finish the door magnets.

Now that is a scary thought!! But of course, if you have some weird charges, you would know the first person to look at for the charges!!

Can anyone swap a 2 person 8:30 reservation for Palo on Pirate night. Since they changed the theme nights, We ended in Palo on that night and I spend weeks putting together a Jack Sparrow pirate costume for the party. Any night other than 11 is ok especially formal nights as we have decided to forgot those this time and eat in topsider. We needed room for other things rather than formal wear. Another option would see if changes could be made (website shows no reservations) or try to change on the ship. Does anyone have any suggestions.

My suggestion is to try to change on the ship if you want to dine at Palo's. I wish you would have let me know a few days ago as that was when I cancelled a Palo dinner at 9:30 PM on night 12 (Tortola night) as I would have been happy to let it go to you.

I am not surprised that there are no other Palo dinners available because I have always been told they hold plenty of ressies for the ship and the concierge guests.

We are looking forward to meeting you all. If we miss the 3:00 meeting, stop by the room and say hello. We are in 8042.

As far as shopping goes I think I am all finished apart from a pair of shorts to wear on my sailing regatta trip... but try buying shorts in the UK in September ..... it is nigh on impossible

Just two quick notes. One is if you are a USA Starbuck's customer, your card will not work in Europe, you must buy a Euros Starbuck card there.

Two, I was not able to buy passes for the rainforest from DCL. I was told you could only buy them on board. You can only buy a one day pass. If you know a way to do buy a pass good for the trip, please let me know.

Still about 10 pages behind - just have had the time or energy to catch up at the moment. This earthquake has created a lot of work for us - someone asked what I do a good few pages back and I realised I didn't say but I work in IT so we have been working with our clients to get their IT systems back up again. Some clients are needing to work remotely due to difficult access to their buildings, some are having to relocate completely and for some, their staff are flatly refusing to work in the tower blocks too far from the ground.

I got brave today and visited a client briefly in the city (right in Cathedral Square for those that know Christchurch) and the city is like a war zone. While I was at this particular client, the found a gap in the floor between the two original buildings (now combined into one) that is now about 12" wide - under the freaking carpet! I couldn't leave fast enough! On leaving, my workmate and I ended up taking a different stair well out (lifts are off limits in the city due to aftershocks) and we ended up in a warren at the bottom of the building. We followed all the emergency exit signs and ended up in an alley that had "emergency police do not cross" tape across the entrance - there was no way back for us - we had to simply go under the two lots of tape to get back to the street! A little unsettling? Heck yes!

Check out this animation of the earthquakes. Radio this morning said we have had 355 aftershocks and that doesn't include todays ones.

The supermarket I read is a good option for cheap lunches and there are also many takeaway places that would be much cheaper than that. The market is also recommended for cheaper food.

I have heard the same thing and posted all the links in an earlier post for those who want less expensive options.

There was discussion a while back (probably 20,000 posts by now! ) about buying wine and liquor in the duty free shops in the port after going through security. Here's a first-hand report from Erik and Jason:

"We're on the ship and I did see that there is a "wine and spirits" shop right in the port. We didn't go into it, but it does did appear to have a wide selection of wines, some liquor (I think) and beer (cquick's husband bought beer and said it was reasonably priced). There are also stores not far from the port that have liquor, too-----renegade7 bought a lot of alcohol in Barcelona and brought it on the ship with her....and you ARE allowed to leave the ship after boarding as long as you're back on by 8pm."

Michael, thanks for the update!! I was worried I wouldn't have time for shopping with all my tour plans.

Now I can do my shopping after I board the ship, get checked in and unpacked!!
