When you quote someone, the post will stat out with some brackets [ ] and the word quote then at the end you will have brackets and quote again. You can delete anything in between there, but be sure you do not delete anything within the brackets or the brackets themsleves, otherwise it will not work.

Thank you. I'm really quite a techie, at least I like to have the techie items...hahaha (then I want my DH to show me how to use them, but he's not here right now). For some reason I seem to be having difficulties with this. Please bare with me and keep the advice flying, I really do appreciate it. I will get the hang of this just about the time we leave. Not for sure, but I think we will leave about the 10th!

Busy day here - it is my birthday! 51 years old, how did that happen :scared1:
Happy Birthday!!!!!

Ooo, I'm another Lie to Me fan!
Love Lie To Me... :thumbsup2

We're right behind you datewise (our anniversary was yesterday, Sept. 1) and one year ahead of you at 37 years. I just can't believe I found DH; he is a wonderful man :lovestruc:hug:.
IKWYM - I can't believe DH and I have been together almost 32 years and married for 28... I TOTALLY lucked out!!!!!!!! ::yes::

Uh, oh, do I smell an add-on?
Errrr... Mebbe.... Shhh just don't tell DH!!! ;)

I'm sorry to say that reports coming out of Tortola indicate that Hurricane Earl has done some damage. For those of you familiar with the island, here's a link from Cruise Critic on some specifics:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1264856

I have emailed our contact whose house we rented last month but haven't heard back. I'll let you know what I hear.

I definitely agree with the CC poster, when you are on Tortola, please consider spending in the local shops and restaurants to help an already difficult economy. We love Tortola!

Andrea

I forgot to mention that Jason and I must've done a really great job packing because we got everything we wanted & needed to bring into 3 suitcases (all under 48 lb.) and one carry-on each (my carry on is basically a computer bag with some extra odds and ends in it and Jason is carrying on a rolling suitcase---the smaller kind that are often called "pilot bags" and that we're HOPING will fit the requirements for carry on so we won't have to check it!)

Anyhow....we had plenty of room to pack games, so I hope there really are folks who wanna play some games on this ship! We are bringing (if I can remember all of them):

Taboo
Cranium
Buzz Word
Boggle
Bananagrams

And a bunch of different card games:
Uno (Disney Theme Parks Edition)
Skip Bo
Blink
Ziggity
Swap
Bandits
Cards (standard regular deck---Disney themed of course---for Euchre, rummy, etc.)

(If you're not familiar with any of those games, just google them and check them out...none are hard to learn and all are pretty fun!)

So we will definitely have games to keep ourselves entertained! :thumbsup2

I love those games. I'll also bring Dutch Blitz and Phase 10. You guys have covered most of the games. That's terrific!

You didn't do too badly. Make sure you when you multi quote that you keep the brackets in the posts. You then post after the bracket from the original posters post. Do you understand what I mean?

Thank you. I think I understand now. At least I'm giving it another go. Let's see what happens when I post. Thanks for being so patient with me.

I have a whole room filled with stuff at this point!!! Good think I have lots of space bags!!

I first heard Cool Beans when I started working at TGI Fridays wayyyyy back when. I use it all the time. That and Yippie Skippie!!!
wayyyyy back does go along way back, but I'm okay with that. We had some 'neat' sayings then!

Happy Birthday! Hope it was a fab day!

I decided not to bring the MahJongg cards since there's a long learning curve, but I thought I might bring Bunco if anyone likes to play that.

Yup, used that one too. Must be a generational thing.

I'm in for Bunco. Love it! Our generation was/is a great one! No other generation is like the 'Baby Boomers'.

Okay, so I tried another multi-quote. Let's see how I do.....here I go pushing the submit button.

Well....not perfect....but better than the first. I'm not sure where I went wrong this time. Thought I did all my responses the same, but obviously I forgot something. So sorry if this hurts your eyes. :upsidedow

Connie asked me to post a picture she took of our finished lanyard pin on the board.

Love it! Thanks so much for doing this Connie and Noel. :cheer2::cheer2:

The cases are now packed and don`t look too bad, apart from the new CC which have gone awol in the post I think we may be sorted. Though you should never speak too soon.

We had emails from both the Praktik Hotel and the Praktik Ramblas which is a bit alarming as we cancelled our reservation at the Praktik Hotel. I`ve emailed them to confirm the cancellation we made in January. This is when you fear it may all decend into farce and all reservations end up cancelled - such is life!

Corinna - when you say you were listing a flight - what does that mean?

Another just curious - where is Connie - the lady who is organising the champagne meet??

Happy Birthday Youngster!!! :cake: party:

Laura, Andrew and Ken are spending the night in NYC....will try again tomorrow.....

Maybe they can do something fun for a few hours there.

Did you try the preview post button? That keeps me from making goofs.

As I see many of you catch flights to Barcelona, I wish you a fantastic trip. See you on the boat. If you forget any essential item (even a pirate's patch) tell me and I will do what I can to find it. Greetings to all. Enjoy very much (I work until the 17th, so you give me a lot of envy). By the way could you say to me what clothes are adapted for the dinners ? Should we dress for dinner of the villains?
Actually, I am a perfect Cruella de Vil, even without disguise or at least that's what my kids say.

:rotfl2: Had to laugh out loud at the Cruella comment. All my kids say the same about their mother; I think it's universal!

Someone else mentioned that on villains night many of us will wear black and purple; a few will dress up as villains. It's entirely up to you.

As far as other dinners, here are the guidelines posted by DCL:

"Dining Dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, most meals are "Cruise Casual"—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops. Most cruises also have special theme nights with additional attire requirements. Here's a breakdown of these events by cruise itinerary.

Two formal nights and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:

Men: dress shirt or jacket, no shorts
Women: dress or pantsuit "

Some people will dress up most nights, some people will be very casual. Most importantly, it's your vacation - be comfortable!

I ordered two; you can have one if you'd like.

Happy Birthday from me, too!!

And safe travels to anyone who is leaving. Lucky you. We'll see you in 2 weeks. Yay!

Happy Anniversary!! You still sound so in love. I hope I am like you when I reach that anniversary number!

I would LOVE a pin, just let me know how much and I will have it for you. Thank you!!

I was disappointed to hear about the Mahjongg but I LOVE Phase 10!

Does anybody play the card game 99?

I've missed all of you! :grouphug:

Needless to say, this week has totally SUCKED as Hayley very eloquently put it. I've only read a few pages after I posted about my childhood friend Becky's passing, so I apologize for not commenting on all that's been posted. However, I do want to express that all your comments as well as the support so many of you have expressed on Facebook have been overwhelmingly appreciated. Really. You have no idea how much it means to me to have my DIS family around. So thank you everyone. Both Becky and Lisa's funeral/memorial were nice in their own way that was suiting to their personalities. I thought I could handle Lisa's a little bit easier than Becky's, but it soooo wasn't the case. Can I just tell you that watching an 8 year old son patting his daddy on his back to console his grief of loosing his wife is just too much to watch? Seriously.....there are some things that we'll just never understand.

I also wanted to say that Stephanie (Steffy), your final loving gesture to your friend as she took her last breath just brought me to tears and does so again as I write this. Sometimes there are just no words to describe an action, and that was one of them.

Before I'm permanently labeled as the depressing poster......

Welcome to some of our new cruising friends and congrats on reports of good health and preventive measures being put into place to maintain your health.

My mom is coming down to visit with me for the next couple of days, but once she leaves, I'll get back on the boards to keep myself in the loop and feed on your excitement. I truly cannot believe we are so close. I was telling friends today that I think I'm going to end up at the airport in 13 days and wonder why the heck I'm there. Thank God that I had that early start on serious packing!

Chat with you all in a couple of days. It will be so nice to be around happy thoughts and smiles with you guys!

One more thing before I sign off. Since I've been away for the past week or so, perhaps this has already been posted, and if so, I apologize.

A couple of weeks ago, I had started pulling together some "fun" sites for friends and family to keep up with us. Does anyone have any corrections to what I had pulled together so far or have any additions to what I have below?

Actually, I am a perfect Cruella de Vil, even without disguise or at least that's what my kids say.

Some of us are dressing as Disney Villains, some are just wearing purple and some are wearing masks.

As for clothing for dinners, I think some will dress up on formal and formal nights. If you look at the personal Navigator I mentioned in my welcome post, you will learn which nights are considered casual or non formal nights.

There is also a pirate night where some will dress up as pirates or if they are women, female pirates or wenches. On the transatlantic pirates site, you will see the first person, DisneyVegas1 will dress up as Jack Sparrow from the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean.

If you have more questions about how people will dress up for dinners, please ask.

I think it would be great for you to dress up as Cruella de Ville if you have a costume.

Just stopping by.

Seems "Earl" has been good to the kids around here as well as the government workers. Schools and colleges are closed. It did not prevent me from checking in for my flight tomorrow to NY, So fingers crossed I will be on that flight tomorrow night.

You can tell there is a storm coming becasue it is ominious outside. I guess that is wear the phrase "calm before the storm" came from.:thumbsup2

Welcome to all the new people. Safe journey for all the B2B folks.

For those folks in the US I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.

I've missed all of you! :grouphug:

So glad to see you back on the thread. Don't know if you saw but Todd did put together a #10 in the event we chat through this one before we all head out in approx 2 weeks (give or take a day depending on when you are leaving). You've had a busy time with events I'm sure you would have preferred not to attend. I'll I can say is :grouphug:.

I'm so glad your mom is coming down and that you have some great plans for the weekend. I loved the Titanic exhibit when it was here a couple of years ago. Talk to you next week - if not sooner on FB.

I know this has been a stressful time for you and I am glad your mom is coming down for the next few days to be with you.

We all have missed your posts very much. I look forward to seeing you post again in a few days.

See you on the Magic!!

I just got the Droid 2 and it has an application for Skype. How does it work and what is it? Verizon told me I probably won't have any service in Europe but it's not a GSM phone.

Thanks,

Bev
