OK, I understand, don't want to risk further damage to you pancreas with any alcohol, totally understandable. ;)
As for a NO fat diet, that is hard on your body, can you have avacado, nuts, seeds or something else with 'good fat'. My naturopath encourages me to have flaxseed oil, apparently it is very good for your gallbladder, I know you don't have one, just thought it may be similar for pancreas?
If I do start feeling sick from my gallbladder I make up a concoction of flaxseed oil, fresh lemon juice and beetroot. It is a miracle worker. I hope they have beetroot on board. :goodvibes

Does the combination of flaxseed oil, fresh lemon juice and beetroot help with digestion or what exactly is it helping with the pancreas? I am very interested in natural remedies.

Well we're counting HOURS now before we head to the airport to begin our vacation!! (28.5 hours to be exact...in case anyone wanted to know! :cool1:)

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Last night I posted a new blog on our blog that has a picture of our main door magnet. I'm pretty proud of it. It's designed to go AROUND the circular stateroom number that is on your door and turn it into a "hidden mickey" and then it extends below and has a space/frame that is about 5" square. We've created 24 separate smaller magnets and every day the new "magnet of the day" will be going in that space so that magnet changes on a daily basis to reflect where we are or what we're doing that day! And then when the day is over, we'll move the old magnet to the bottom of the door and replace it with the next magnet----so by the end of the cruise we should have a magnet for all 24 days of our cruise (except disembarkation day) on our door! Since we're so close to the laundry you'll all have to check it out while you're waiting for your mentionables, unmentionables and spanx to dry! :rotfl:

Oh I'm gonna have to add this to my things to do at home list as I can't access this in work annoyingly! I thought for a second I might be able to see a pic of the lanyards but you thought of everything and haven't posted them on purpose! Darn you! :rotfl: The door magnet is so cool! I love that idea! I may have to steal it for the next time I cruise! It looks wonderful! You guys are so creative it puts me to shame!

We are Barry and Teresa from Alabama, traveling with DS Andrew (23) and with all of you. Sorry we are too late to join in most of your activities, but we hope to meet many of you on the cruise. We are in room 8042 and on second dining. Have decided to forgo formal nights this trip as it is too much to carry the extra clothing (we have to bring the pirate stuff of course). We are on the flight leaving Atlanta on the 17th arriving on the 18th in Barcelona. Hope to get a quick tour of the city before the cruise. This is my 7th Disney cruise and 7 days never seemed like enough. Will be interesting to see how 14 days will be. I hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip to Barcelona. See you on the cruise. :mickeyjum

Welcome!! We are Dennis (65) and Angie (60) from Montana. This will be our 11th DCL cruise. Please don't be shy. There are several things you can join in.

With pancreatitis the diet is low fat and low protein because of pain as they stimulate the pancreas. The alcohol continues to damage the pancreas once you have had pancreatitis. If I hadn't still been having pain and been back to the doctors, then I would have had alcohol in food this time, but never to drink ever again, but with still having problems I am going to keep off the food alcohol!!

If it could have been proved that the pancreatitis was caused by gallstones then I might have been able to drink again, but because it was only the most possible cause for me then no way!! Normally, having had my gallbladder out, I would have been able to have nice fatty meals again though.;)

Once through those 5 nights in the middle of nowhere I will try a little more pleasurable fat(desserts) as I am not on a NO fat diet!!!:rotfl2: That is not good for the body.

I hope you keep well.:)

Marilyn, I hope you get feeling better soon! Our son is having similar problems. He had his gallbladder removed earlier this year after a severe bout of pancreatitis. He went to the doctor for a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago and they did some bloodwork as well. He was just notified that there were some labs not quite right and they want to do an mri of the pancreas just to be sure all is well. Such a worrry...

Well I plucked up courage to go and try on Marks and Spencer's version of the high waisted Spanx. More comfortable than I expected, though I didn't go too small a size. Not sure it held me in much, but it did smooth everywhere. However, 2 problems. I have slim legs(in relation to my body), and the legs were a little loose. Not an elegant look, but then again the whole thing isn't what you would call elegant!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: but it wasn't a good look for sure.;) The other thing is that even though I pulled it up under my bra, or pulled the bra down a bit, it must have kept slipping, and there was a bit of a ridge of bare flesh that kind of protruded a little. Not sure how that would pan out over the evening. I can hardly keep pulling it up can I? So, I didn't buy them. Now I'm not sure what to do.

Well, just be you. We are supposed to have a few lumps at 60!! :goodvibes

LOVE IT!!!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

2 WEEKS FROM TODAY WE WILL BE FLYING TO BARCELONA:yay::dance3:

DD Lindsay fell a couple of weeks ago and injured her knee. I keep getting a pain in my wrist that goes away and comes back after 6 months from a fall I had 1 1/2 years ago. (I used to have a pain in my neck but I got rid of him over 10 years ago :rotfl: got married last year on the Wonder:bride:) Since we are leaving in 2 weeks:banana: I decided to see the doctor so we can be in good shape for our cruise. Lindsay and I have been going on the Disney cruises for the past 5 September's to celebrate our birthdays. She'll be 23 on 9/26 and on the 23rd, I'll be .... well let's say older :rotfl: Just us- DH can't get the time off from work.

Finally, took our suitcases out. My goal is to be totally packed by Saturday so I can enjoy having Monday off and not having to run around.

Can't wait to see everyone. :grouphug:

Bev :)

I had my checkup last week. DH is having his on Thursday. From my doctor, I got a prescription for Ambien for when I can not sleep and the patch for behind my ear for seasickness in case the seas are rough.

We have the same laudable goals. I don't care how wrinkled things may bet as I am going to pack this weekend as I have a feeling I am going to end up with two suitcases each. Going to make Air Berlin rich!!

I am another one struggling to get to better health before the cruise. Looks like I will not be doing much at all!!!

I hope your gallbladder behaves. I am still on a low fat diet after having mine out because the pancreas is still not right. I think I am going to have to be serious on this cruise with being so far from medical assistance in a real emergency. A low fat diet is not what you go on a cruise for!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I also can't have alcohol, even in food, so that is a bit of a problem too. Our servers are going to be soooo happy with me.:lmao:
.

My DH had all kinds of trouble with his stomach. They opened his sphincter of Odie twice and tried medication after medication. The poor guy went through all kinds of invasive procedures. He's been to UC and Stanford. They removed his gall bladder. Nothing really worked. They have finally put him on something that seems to work, Cholestyramine for Oral Suspension USP. It is kind of a pain because he drinks a glass of this stuff in the morning and evening and he can't take other medications within a few hours of taking it. (with taking 13 other medications that can be a challenge for him). It coats the stomach reducing the inflamation to the stomach lining and as a bonus, it reduces cholestoral level. Worth asking about. val

I've had the same problem with the high-waisted Spanx. During the evening the area between the Spanx and the bra kept getting wider and wider until the Spanx were rolled up around my waist. Now that's not an elegant look either. I just get the regular ones now.

I had the same issue with the Gok Wan thing I ordered. Ended up sending back. I've got some QVC spanx Ill have to wear but I think these are just gonna make Dan laugh as theyll take 20 mins to put on lol!

They really are very funny things.:rotfl2: I am usually hot and bothered just after my shower and getting ready for dinner, so iIwill be all of a lather!!!:rotfl:

I hope it is all ok. Best to have the MRI. I had one, an MRCP, that area and bile and pancreatic ducts etc. They did one to see if a stone was still there before taking the gallbladder out.

Re the bumps and age thing, It would be so much more comfortable all round to be able to accept that!!!!

I think I have heard of that, or at least the UK version. I hope it all works for him.

I just realised ......

WE ARE GOING ON THE WBTA DISNEY MAGIC CRUISE THIS MONTH !!!!!!!!

Yes .... after almost 2 years since we booked we have finally reached September 2010 !!! I am really having to pinch myself here :rotfl2:

Starting the Slimfast diet today .... combined with a 12 hour shift on the post-natal ward .... might not be a good combination  I am just off to make my first milkshake for breakfast!

2 weeks tomorrow we will be leaving :woohoo::scared1::woohoo::scared1:
good luck with the slim fast, I cant drink gloopy things, milkshakes or that, yuk, I think it was cause I was sick lots a a youngster? anyway, cnat wait to hear how you get on..

WELCOME< were Lynne and Leonard from scotland, travelling with my Mum and Dad (morag and angus)
Greetings to Ana, Ruben, Mario, Theresa, Andrew and one more whose name escapes me but is as equally important!
We are Julie and Chris from the North of England. Ana, my sister lives in Marbella and her kids speak fluent Spanish and everyone there assumes they are Spanish. Thanks for the tips on Barcelona, all of us are worried about the pick pockets otherwise we expect to love it.

Today I am packing :woohoo: I`m trying clothes on and the good news is the "gold creation" aka the formal dress can be fastened up with only DH to help. At one point I thought I was going to have to ask for volunteers or bring my mother and the shop assistant along, as up to now, thats the only way I`ve got into it!
I`m leaving loads of stuff out and Dh`s pile of clothes is looking very meagre. I`m sure he`ll manage :rotfl2:
lol, last night in debenhams I was asking random poeple in the changin room to do up zips:rotfl2:

Well I have to say , my spanx incogneto or whatever are great(bloody should be,the amount they cost right enough!)

The slim fast bars are lush! They taste nicer than the milkshakes. The Soups I find make me feel sick! I was going to start today but as per normal forgot to buy some lol!

Who was it that recently had the toenail procedure?? DS has an ingrown toenail that is inflamed. He was going to try to play through the pain and deal with it after football season. But it has become unbearable now. His pediatrician is trying to get him in to a podiatrist to have the nail removed right before we leave. That way DS would only miss the games that he was already going to miss due to the travel.

I'm wondering what to expect in terms of pain and recovery. DS is concerned about all the walking in ports. And, most importantly, whether or not he can go in the swimming pool. LOL.

I know it sounds a bit weird but have you tried cutting a V in the top of the nail? When ever I get ingrowing toenails this has worked to reduce the pain.

yes, we've done the v, we've done the soaking in hot water, we've done the gentle separating of the skin, I think that's what has got him through all summer, but now he's just in a lot of constant pain

DD had her toe done a couple of years ago, they didn`t remove the whole nail but a side section of it and they they painted something on it to prevent that part growing back.
She says it wasn`t too sore later (and she`s a terrible patient) as the pain before was bad. Her toe was in a real manky state!
