Got it down! One question: how do you know the menu for the night already?

:cutie:

Of course it's subject to change, but I believe it was from a post Sue put up after inquiring with Conceirge. It's in the draft version of the DIS Navigator that Gismo Sarah has put together for us as well. :)

For anyone doing the Wine and Dine Race on the 2nd. I called them about my WDW tickets what a bargain. 4 Day park hopper is 199 w/tax. To buy them thru WDW was 277 w/o tax. Needless to say i have 2 on the way.

How serious of a race is this? We might be interested in doing it but are not in superb condition.

Hope everyone is well? Under 50 days now :banana::banana:

Dawn

All well here. We leave for airport in 6 weeks, 2 days, 4 hours and 49 minutes, but who is counting???

Could you give me the name or web address of the company you have booked the taxi from the airport to Parktik Rambles with? Did you pre-pay by PayPal or do they accept credit cards? (I'm trying to limit the amount of Euros I have to bring)

Thanks so much.

Val

We are using Barcelona Taxi Van.

I emailed them from the website and asked for a quote - BCN arrival to the Praktil Rambles, 2 adults, 2 kids, 8 suitcases (OMG!) and I was quoted 50 euro.

I confirmed and booked. They take payment at destination and stated it was to be in euros.

Hi all.

We've just joined this thread, because we didn't know it existed until today. Well, just wanted to introduce ourselves, as we'll be on the cruise with you. It's our first cruise, and we really don't know anything about the Disney ships or taking a cruise, other than what we've read on the internet and learned from our friends, who are taking their fourth cruise.

"We" are my husband, Tom age 47, and myself, Rikke age 39.
Tom is German, I'm Danish, we're living in Nuremberg, Germany, but spending approx. two weeks per month in our house in Denmark.
Tom and I are both self-employed with our own companies. Tom is a composer and producer, I am strategic marketing consultant. Just this month we're starting a new joint project, Sportunes, which is a webshop for training music. We look forward to sharing not only our private lives, but also our professional lives with each other.

Both Tom and I have spent a year in the States - ages ago as we were still young:flower3:
We both have limited Disney experience, and absolutely no cruise experience, so we're looking forward to what is expecting us. Fortunately we are travelling with our friends from Germany, so we have some experienced advisors with us. We look forward to also making new friends on the cruise, and we're sure that it will be a trip we'll never forget.

Look forward to meeting you in 7 weeks.

Rikke.

the company was Barcelona Taxi Van. Their email was infor@barcelonataxivan.com

HTH!

Thanks so much! I'll get in touch ASAP. Val

For those who may still be interested in the PacSafe totes and backpacks, Overstock.com has a few of them on sale, up to 67% off and another 10% off this weekend. That plus the fact their shipping charge is only $2.95 make them a good deal. We also found their carmera memory cards at a good price. I have gotten a number of things from them and never had a problem with the purchase nor the return.

Can I have some advice?

I got a quote of 100euros all inclusive for a taxivan to pick up 7 of us from our hotel Praktik Ramblas, and all our luggage, to take us to the port. Is that expensive? I know the conversion to dollars, and it seems expensive, but is it expensive for Barcelona? What would a regular taxi cost (and I think we'd need 2-3 for all of us and our stuff).

Thanks!

We are being quoted 40 Euros for two of us to go from the Marriott Renaissance at the airport to the Le Meridien so I personally think it is a good deal for 7.

May I ask who you are getting your quote from?

Just my thoughts...

All this excitement has me panicking :scared1:

I have to get through August first:

--Leaving Friday for 5 days in Tortola; renting a gorgeous house in the west end hills overlooking Smuggler's Cove and Long Bay. :beach: Can't wait! Hey, IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT TORTOLA, I'LL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER OR DO MY BEST TO FIND OUT WHEN WE"RE THERE NEXT WEEK (better to PM, I'm skimming FAST)...

--After Tortola, we have friends from the UK (Fareham) visiting us for a few days on their way to NYC from WDW. Gotta start cleaning as soon as the beach laundry is done... :laundy:

--Then a quick four day trip to see my sister and her family in Denver for my great-nephew's 7th birthday. :bday:

--That leaves one week to pack my son's stuff back up before we leave Labor Day weekend to take him back to college in Massachusetts :teacher: and pray for a cool day to unload all that stuff...

That puts us back back home in Virginia on September 8th and we leave for Barcelona on the 15th. HELP!!!!

Oh well, what's life without a little excitement! REALLY looking forward to those days at sea! :cool1:

Thanks for letting me rant about the craziness here--now you know why I don't post much.

Andrea

Hi Andrea .... wow are you going to be busy. You won't have time to get stressed out. Hope you have a great time in Tortola! By the way, if you get time could you find out if the Pussers Rum place is walkable from where the ships dock. Thank you.

And I almost cried at your almost crying at her almost crying!

awwwwww bless you all for crying along with me :sad1:

I am doing the same thing!! GMTA!! I even have which suitcase they are packed in on my spreadsheet!!

Worse, I also take pics of the clothes for insurance purposes so if the suitcase full of clothing is lost, I have a record. Suitcase replacement is expensive not to mention the cost of the clothes!!

I am very impressed. May well have to do this too. I could colour code the clothing depending on which suitcase they go into. :yay:

Hi there and welcome. You are going to have the very best time on this cruise and with your fellow cruisers. Have a read of Page 1, and the website too, though i think that is offline at the moment while some work is being done.
I'm Marilyn and it is just me and my husband John. We're both retired(ish) and really looking forward to this cruise!!!!
There is a German couple on the cruise. Not sure where they are from though.

Welcome aboard Rikke and Tom!! We are Noel and John Birkner from Woodside, California in the USA. This is our 4th DCL cruise but have cruised many times on other cruise lines.

My husband's family is originally from Erlangen near Nuremberg. I am not sure how much family he has left there as contact with the family there was not kept up after 1940. His great-grandfather was a professor of music at the University of Nuremberg which I believe is now called University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The church his other great-grandfather was the minister of is also in Erlangen. Small world!!

Be sure you read page one for all the exciting things that are happening on this cruise. Here is a partial list.

1. PM DisneyVegas1 to see if there are any cruise shirts left.
2. PM Buckeye Gal with your hotel and flight information.
3. Decide if you want Mickey Mouse shirts and order, see post #1
4. If you want to link your dining ressies, PM Mrs. Mork if you are early or PM Totally Angelic if you are late.
5. Sign up on the roll call and send your pictures to the Transatlantic Pirates website.
6. PM Connie (Con5421) if you would like to purchase a lanyard pin.
7. Let mdwoodman know (post #8)if you can join the HRC pre cruise meet on 17 September @ 1700.
8. Let birkner know (post #9) if you want to join fellow DISers on a private tour of Madeira.
9. Go to: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...thkey=CJmPqOcK
and put your DIS name at the bottom of the list - then put in the sizes you need for your wristbands (they are a gift) and fill in any other information you would like to share!

10. If you want to be in the FE please email akblair@charter.net with your family info.

Hope that gives you a good place to start. Any more questions, ask away

Noel

I'd like to know, too, for after our sail & snorkel excursion! (As if we won't have enough rum on the catamaran ;) )
