Hmm a tune is reverberating around in my empty brain casing::rockband:
Sung to the tune of Carry on my Wayward Son by Kansas

Carry on my Disney Daughter-in-law
You'll have Palo’s brunch when you are done
You can lay your weary head to rest on Mickey’s pillow
That jelly fish won’t adhere to Chris’ bum.

On a stormy sea of changing tours
Tossed about like a ship on the ocean gray
You set a course for winds of fortune
And I hear the family say (especially DS)

Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the Disney splendor
The center lights around your choices
But surely Magic waits for you
party:
My deepest apologies to Kansas

How cute! Now, I'm humming the song. :hippie:

Maybe we should get some of the guys on "DIS patrol" to be sure the kids get their pics first since Todd is one of "ours". What do you guys think?

Not likely it will help as the Cpt has a tendancy to be highly visible around the dining room. LOL Once on deck maybe but if anyone knows who Ducky Williams is - imagine that same scenario when it comes to pirate: night and our Cpt. :rotfl2:

:scared1:
No, no talent or singing skills. It would be very discordant and make puppies and sea bats cringe and then run around wildly trying to escape the room not good in the confined space of a ship at sea! :worried:

;) Given enough DOD's, wonder if that will change it? :lmao:

You are soooo right!!

I actually do have quite a few dresses that I can wear but does give me a an excuse to go shopping!!:woohoo:

Any excuse for shopping is good. :thumbsup2

I will do. I am not planning any long distance trips before then but I am going to try them in the car and see if they work there for a 5 hour drive.

OH! Now that is something I didn't think about. Maybe I can get them and try them out on a road trip to Vegas. Its about 4 hrs for us. Hm....another anniversary gift. Thanks for the tip!

I am laughing because on one of my other cruise forums, a "newbie" got so addicted to DIS that her husband managed to post one time while she slipped away for a minute - "please feed me." Well, we all had a laugh about that and the :tinker: fairy tagged her with - Please feed your husband. :rotfl2:

so funny! my dh may do that too one day!;)

Congrat you too. That is amazing and inspiring.

aw thank you!

That's lovely news!:woohoo:

LOL I still need to speak to my Dad about how we are getting too and from the airport! Perhaps hell be nice and offer to take us!

Will he pick us up on the way? :rotfl2:

Were living in hope that 3 cases will be fine. We did Disney with 2 last time for 14 days and Dan's already said "can't we just take 2"! Planning on taking a bag too so we can have 4 if needs on the way back as we're allowed 4 (in 2008 we got cornered for a $75 charge because our 1 case was over even though we only had 2 cases and could have had 4! Not doing that again!)

Well, we reckoned with the suit carrier as well we could do with both extras! :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has and is enjoying their weekend.

I just finished reading all 12 pages I missed.

Steffy - my DH said that if you buy a cover for your phone, it will not drop calls. I don't know if you have one, but it is a big help.

BoosGram - I LOVE the smell of jet fuel more than perfume and I am a girl! For my birthday I got to see the Thunderbirds fly and it was fantastic!

Donna - congrats on your wedding and what an awesome honeymoon!!

TheDisneyGirl02 - I love Dutch Wonderland, went there all the time when I was little. After that we would eat at Good and Plenty. Is that still there?

Noel - thanks for the article on Abby. I appreciated it.

UKANGEL - thanks for the update on your daughter. Keep us posted and she is in my prayers. I cannot believe you met your husband on the dis - that is a great story.

Michael - sending pixie dust for good travels to Mexico!

Sarah - the list for Scrapbooking is as follows:

Sarah - Gismo
Kimberly - Buckeye Gal
Sandi - Hoagie Pie
Dee- 1DisneyQueen
Sue - Su_Kraft
Ann - Bareacuda
Melodie - Magic Me
Janice - Yukongirl123
Wanda - Poohluvsfigment
Brenda - Coconut

There are 11 here, but you are not making one for yourself, so just make it 10. If anybody has any questions, just PM me or if there is anything else, please let me know.

Also Sarah, I have the medication list, but am waiting for people to post their cabin numbers before I send it to you with more work later on.:rotfl2:

FYI--Just checked the cruise port schedules. They aren't always 100% accurate but it looks like the Magic will be the only ship in port in Madeira, Gibraltar and Tortola; the Epic will also be in St Maarten that day. Should keep the crowds manageable.

Thank you for the kind thoughts

How exciting! I would love to see the Epic! We were booked for the TA to NY but had to cancel (but then we wouldn't have done this cruise so all's well..etc) Thanks for posting :thumbsup2

Oh and just watched the Youtube video posted! Its fab! Got to part 2 day 1 and have seen what we are likely to go through.

Sailaway mid afternoon - Actually leave port 9:30

I hope you have a great time!

I was with 1st MAW from 93 to 96 (I also did 6 month deployments to 1st MAW in 84 and 85/86).

I love the smell of jet fuel too!

Thanks!

How about this for coincidences? My SIL is really excited about her son's wedding on July 9th. She describes her dress to me on FB and sends me a picture. For about the 5th time we have been at the same type event, she has picked the same thing. She picked the exact dress and the same color I was going to wear to the wedding.

The last time this happened was her son's graduation where we showed up in the same dress. This time, I am going to wear a different dress. I am SO glad she emailed me a picture of the dress! I know she told me her dress was one of a kind but oh, well...

Well, you both must have good taste :thumbsup2

That sounds lovely Sue. I can attest to how close friendships can be made on these boards.......................

Mark and I met through the DIS 8 years ago, became friends and married a year later :cloud9: Lasting friendships and soulmates too are found on these very boards!:hug:

That is so cool!

That's awesome! I went to many reunions and events with my dad and it was amazing to see them reconnect with and cry with men they hadn't see in many many years! Enjoy!

DH is really looking forward to this reunion, especially after so long. This will be really special for him.

And this is in the game line (and may sound pretty crazy to some of you), but are there any MahJongg players out there? I love to play and I'd bring some cards (tiles are too heavy) if there's anyone to play with (fingers are crossed).

I don't know how to play but would like to learn if you are to willing to teach & don't get any takers:)[/QUOTE]

This game needs 4 players to work, but I'm happy to teach anyone who wants to learn. If you like rummy-type games, you'd probably enjoy this, but it is more of a thinking game, which is one reason I like it.

Well it depends. You are ever so gracious and empirically proficient as our family travel/tour director with a stellar proven record. Without your diligence and attention to detail DS and I would be awash in confusion and indecision; at sea without a paddle as it were, not even MAGIC or a profound amount of scotch would save us.

Carry on dear DDIL, oh does this make you a DDDIL – perhaps not, all the Ds make it appear indecisive. I’ll pop in now and again but you are carrying our banner with honor, dignity and courage.

That was great. You surely have one terrific DDIL.

Just a quick note to everyone who posted their thoughts about DD and the blood clot. We believe as does her physician that the clot was cause by taking Yaz. She is fine now with no restrictions.

All of us need to be diligent in our pursuit of quality health care. If you don't agree with a diagnosis get a second opinion. If you have an HMO, get the patient advocate involved. You would be surprised how much help you can get if you are persistent.

Just my thoughts...

I'm so glad she is well. We do have to stand up for ourselves for sure. Who knows our bodies better than us?

I cannot find the link to the you tube - can someone post it. I know Sarah watched it and I am trying to find it through all our chatting, but no luck. THANK YOU!

I would love to play Mahjong too, never played but LOVE 500 Rummy and willing to learn.

.....a "newbie" got so addicted to DIS that her husband managed to post one time while she slipped away for a minute - "please feed me." Well, we all had a laugh about that and the :tinker: fairy tagged her with - Please feed your husband. :rotfl2:....

 is my face red. Nope - Sorry - not the right kind of sleeper. But now you both have me intrigued.....

:lmao: Very funny move on the DH's part! The story is only better because the Tag Fairy captured the moment!

Well my face was red because I thought I knew what you were talking about until the link for the "First Class Sleeper" was posted. Maybe I still don't know what you're referring to, but I was thinking it's one (or maybe more) of the airline's name for how their First Class seats convert to basically a sleeping compartment. :confused3

Good morning from yet another sunny day in Wales ... so many warm sunny days in a run has been unheard of in recent years so it makes a lovely change.....

Is the fish a hint to what your gift is Kimberly .... I am intrigued ..........

How nice to have all the consecutive days of sunshine. Isn't it amazing how something so simple changes our moods?

Sorry. I didn't mean to imply the :fish: :fish: were a clue to the gift. I was just using it to related to the :fish: extenders. You're not the only one who has been :fish:-ing around though! The closest DISboards smiley that would give a slight clue would be this one: :beach: Well, maybe this one, too: :artist:

I'm onto a new phase with them today. I knew that once I got started I would stick to it! It just took me forever to push myself there. See...I'm great at planning, but terrible at execution!

Just dropping a quick note to say goodbye for the next 10-14 days. The packing up has started with a bang.....All things working correctly our movers should be arriving next Saturday morning. ....

Congrats, Michael! You've made it this far! I'm sure it's a bitter-sweet and exciting time! Be safe in your travels and enjoy the pit-stops!

As a dear friend pounded into my head, it's never "Goodbye", rather "See you later!".

First Sarah, thank you for bringing this up! I had already forgotten about this!! Shame on me.

Sandi, could I suggest you secure a spot on the new thread so these lists are on the first couple of pages and easy to find? I think it's up to Page 2 already. If not, I would be happy to include it in my post on the new thread.

I don't know what I am doing - can you please do that? Thank you!! E-mail me and kick me around if you wish!!!

Well, I feel good!!! Filled out our online Advance Passenger Information for BA and Virgin, our DCL cruise documents and have done the Esta forms.

I do find it stressful for some reason.:confused3 Have to print all the DCL stuff yet though.

Been weighing on my mind, but I can relax a bit now.:thumbsup2

Marilyn,

Ann says we have done most of ours, I say it's still 2 1/2 months yet, relax.

Just like John!!! Men!!:lmao:

Ann says we are three doors down. I assume that means John is close. Do we need a male tranquility collective?

Help, we are now debating whether we need to check for two extra caes:confused3.

I don't know what I am doing - can you please do that? Thank you!! E-mail me and kick me around if you wish!!!

Sure. No problem! I won't even kick ya! BTW, we ARE up to Page 2 already with informative, easy-to-locate posts! (Just a reminder to keep posting our day-to-day chatter here until we're closed down here in Chapter 6 of our DISboards adventure.)

Since we're so close to hitting the new thread, I went ahead and posted the list, and of course it an be edited later. Having it on the first couple of pages just makes it easier for people to locate.

Wow! You should write this as a short story or novel!

Speaking of novels, for all you readers spending time in Barcelona, I highly recommend "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It is a mesmerizing story set in 1940s Barcelona--part thriller, mystery, history, romance. The book and Zafon are VERY famous in Catalonia (the Spanish state that Barcelona is the capitol of).

My husband, Greg, and I love Barcelona and this book. In fact, I think we'll take a Shadow of the Wind walking tour this time.
