I googled and got this:

Haggis is a dish containing sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally simmered in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a casing rather than an actual stomach. There are also meat-free recipes for vegetarians.

The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish memorialised as the national dish of Scotland by Robert Burns' poem Address to a Haggis in 1787. Haggis is traditionally served with "neeps and tatties" (Scots: swede, yellow turnip or rutabaga and potatoes, boiled and mashed separately) and a "dram" (i.e. a glass of Scotch whisky), especially as the main course of a Burns supper. However it is also often eaten with other accompaniments, or served with a whisky-based sauce.

I was going to get back to you and tell you but thats a fine description, neeps n tatties, turnip and potato

Just saw this on the wire:

Earthquake in Canada rattles upstate NY, Vt

ALBANY, N.Y.—An earthquake centered in Canada was strong enough to rattle furniture across the state and was felt as far south as New York City.

There were no initial reports of any serious damage or injuries Wednesday from the 5.0 magnitude quake, which was centered about 40 miles north of Ottawa near the Ontario-Quebec border.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake happened at a depth of about 12 miles at 1:41 p.m. It lasted about 30 seconds.

"My dog picked his head up just before it happened and kind of looked at me," said Kellie Tassone, who was at her at home on Oneida Lake in the Syracuse area. Then the sliding door started to rattle "and the house was shaking."

David French said he was at his computer inside his Cicero home when he felt his chair shake.

"I thought the chair was breaking or something," he said. "I looked over and my filing cabinet was moving."

The quake was felt as far away as Michigan and Vermont. In New York, it prompted several calls to state police in Ray Brook in the Adirondacks.

"A little shake, nothing too big," said Trooper Mark Revette. "It happens. We get a couple of these a year."

The Office of General Services, which manages state buildings across New York, said that an initial survey after the quake found no damage to their structures.

The quake rattled downtown buildings and homes in Ottawa and Toronto, as well as government offices across the Ottawa River in Gatineau, Quebec.

Several buildings in Toronto and the Ottawa region were evacuated.

it was very strange....I'm at work in downtown Cleveland (Ohio) and I felt it. For me, it was like swaying at my desk after a cruise--lasted just a couple of seconds...but some of the attorneys actually felt the shaking in their offices. Three of them ran out into the hallway with panic on their faces.

Broke sweat today myself. We had an employee appreciation lunch at work today. They had it catered with ymmuy barbecue, then had a basketball free throw contest (didn't participate), water balloon toss (made it to the last round and lost) and country line dancing (this is where the sweat came in, had a blast).

Now back to work. But how do they expect us to settle down after that??

FYI for ladies in the uk, re spank, simplybe has a brilliant range of spanx and the like.

I felt the quake in Brighton Ontario. I thought my washing machine was rocking and rolling due to an uneven load as I felt vibrations through the floor. Then I realized the cycle was over. My DD later called to tell me about the quake and then I realized what I had felt. My niece in Ottawa confirmed she felt the whole house shake.

My DH grew up on a lot of Pennsylvania Dutch cooking and he loves what I call the strange stuff. He had a chance to visit Scotland and just loved Haggis!!!

So about the buffets.....gotta love all of the choices!!!! :lmao:
