Hi Everyone :) I finally caught up. I started a new job on Monday, along with online classes. So something had to be put on the back burner. Sorry! I will try to be a better Diser. I know that I'm missing some posts that I wanted to respond to. Here are some generic thoughts for the posts I missed while clicking on quotes.

If you ( or your family isn't feeling well, I hope you get better soon. If you are traveling, be safe and have a good time. If you are remodeling, I hope that it comes together quickly and without going over budget. If your child has done something wonderful, let them know that I'm proud and happy for them. If you are doing the DD dance, so are we! Only 98 days until we leave for Spain. I think that is it for now!
Thanks for this! Does anyone have an opinion as to which rotation would be better?
My only request is not to be in PC on formal night. To me that calls for Lumineres
....some more work for you I'm afraid ......

As I am supposed to be keeping the list for the late seating diners who want to link up for dinner ......

Can you PM me which of the 3 rotations you would most prefer and can you let me know if the rotation is important enough that you would forgo the linking, or do you still want to be linked and go with the majority.

Is it me or is this becoming very confusing. :confused3:confused3:confused3

These are the people I have already got on my list

Late Seating Linked Dining

TotallyAngelic ( Sarah and Tony)
Birkner ( Noel and John )
Su Kraft ( Sue, Glenn and family)
LittleDisneyLovers ( Hayley, Terry and family )
UKAngel ( Mandy and Mark )
Bareacuda (Howard and Ann)
Ebony ( Jan and Carl )
Sue and husband ( Sue l )
Goiu family (Geoff, Lisa, Emma, and Logan)
acourtwdw2 ( Annette and Amanda)
See above, please
Just to let you know that I sent Heather some flowers from the WBTA Cruisers yesterday because I just felt I had to do something. I know in the light of things it is a small gesture but I just wanted her to know we are all thinking of her.:hug::hug::hug:

Anyway .... she received them today and sent me this message:

"Sarah - thank you so, so much for the lovely flowers. The post office tried to deliver them yesterday, but I wasn't in. I collected them this morning and was deeply moved when I saw who they were from. Thank you so much again and please send on my deepest thanks to all the WBTA cruisers for me. I know that you will have have a fantastic time. Heather "

That was so nice of you and let us know how to contribute to the cost.

Sorry for all the rambling and multi quoting but it's been a long week :)

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

AMEN SISTER!!

I was reading your post and when I got to the "you are a fountain of knowledge..." remark I hit the quotes button so that I could respond something to the effect of: "When it comes to Broadway shows? OF COURSE---I did mention I'm gay, right?!"....but then as I read further in your post you beat me to the punch!:rotfl2: (Which reminds me, how come there's no smiley waving a rainbow flag? That's a smiley I could use a lot! The closest there is is this: :rainbow: which is cute, but not the same. Although I have been known to sometimes pepper my posts with a little fairy :tinker: On the thread for our Double Dip cruise back in 2008 one of the questions of the week on the boards was something to the effect of "What disney character is most like you?"....and in a particularly campy moment I posted "Tinkerbell----cuz she's a sassy little fairy just like me!" We all suspected the tag fairy might put it under my name...but alas it never happened! :rotfl2:)

Just for you,

I have it for my dearest/longest friend Tony.

I am so excited- I just found my dress that I am going to wear for formal nights. I am now ready to cruise. (Just had to share the joy with someone who would understand the feeling(s):)

Lucky lady!! I wish I could find something I really love but no luck yet. Found a great pattern but don't sew. Sure miss the days when my mother or grandmother made my clothes. I just never learned how to sew.

Just my thoughts....

Great list Kimberly, I also make up labels to go on our luggage tags for leaving the ship. That way when I am sad and depressed, I just slap it on there instead of filling out all the info. It is quick and easy. Also, don't forget if you have animals - have them well taken care of. Also, call your phone carrier if you want to add international or anything specific. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

Has someone found a good place to get euros near the interbank rate here in the US?

When I bought a few last week I paid 5.8% premium over interbank rate here in TX.

So if I were to buy euros to pay my hotel I would be paying about 6% more than I would if I used my Capital One card which has 0% international currency exchange fee. (Most credit cards have 3% international exhange fee)

My theory is that I am going to put everything I can on my Capital One card because of the 0% international exchange fee and just get about 200 euro walking around/ snack/ taxi money. I would be really nervous walking around with more money than that.

We just need enough euros to get to the boat. We can always cash a US travellers check and get euros for Madeira on the boat.

We did look at international ATMs and our bank charges a 3% intl currency conversion charge as well as a $5 fee every time we withdrew some money.

I think there are a few credit unions and a brokerage house (Charles Schwab?) that will allow no fee, 0% intl currency conversion charges.

But what I really want to know where you can get cheap foreign currency???:surfweb:

I got mine from Wachovia.

Wow, lucky you. I am jealous. I reallly need to start thinking about clothes, but I want to wait and see. I am going to try a personal trainer to see if he will motivate me to workout. I will wait till August and see if I change sized before I buy anything.

"What's in YOUR wallet?" :rotfl: ;)

Capitol One AND Chase Disney. Do I hear POINTS! We paid our airfare to spain and home from Florida with Capitol One points. Now I am going to use my Disney points to pay for tips and shore excursions. I drive DH crazy everytime he reaches for cash in his wallet. I tell him "I do not care if the bottle of water is 1.25, CHARGE IT" Now that he did not have to pay for airline tickets, he has come around to my way of thinking.:thumbsup2

Thought I would share that piece of tid bit. Now that I have exposed myself as cheap, not sure what else is left.:tiptoe:

I have a question....we are still trying to figure out a hotel in Barcelona. What section of Barcelona is a good place to look at? We don't need to be close to the airport but we don't necessarily need to be that close to the port. We plan to do some sightseeing in Barcelona.

Thanks

Have a good last day and flight home.

. . . have a safe journey home tomorrow.

. . . Hope that both you and Mrs Woody are well.

. . . have a safe journey

Have a good trip home!

Safe Trip Home!

Wishing you safe travels home!

Welcome back Woody . . .
Thank you, everyone.

We arrived home safely after a smooth flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles.

Post #2 has a list of the different hotels everyone is staying at, if that helps you.

Thank you, everyone.

Now we are waiting for the trip report

We are not linked with anyone for dining and after some thought, I think we would rather sit with people from this board, so if anyone is interested we are late dining and ae willing to link with the group. Donna and Joi

Hey Donna and Joi----I know you mentioned this once before but weren't on the B2B but Jason and I (and our potential tablemates, I'm sure) would be happy to add you to our table for the WBTA portion of the cruise. They can just move us from a 6-top to an 8-top....or at least if you get linked with someone else from this board and then we all link together then we'll be seated near each other even if not at the same table!

Just for you,

I saw the list of hotels, but don't know which areas of Barcelona are better than others. I mean, which section is kinda in the middle of the sightseeing areas?

Some of us are staying in the Las Ramblas area. What is your budget, how many in your party and where do you want to sightsee?

Since we are arriving in Barcelona the day of the cruise (arrive 7:55 a.m.), we are hoping to do the hop-on hop-off bus tour. Does anyone know how long of a walk it is from Terminal C to the Columbus statue?

You cannot walk from the Columbus Monument to Terminal C. We took the port shuttle, which cost two Euro per person and even that took about 10 minutes to get to the ship. It really is a long way.
On the EBTA, the Magic was in port one day before debarkation. It is a long way from Terminal C to the Columbus Monument -- roughly a 30 minute walk over a bridge. I would not recommend for to anyone with mobility issues or luggage. (But you will see people walking over the bridge with luggage.)

DCL did not provide a shuttle. The "Blue Bus" is the port shuttle bus, and costs 2 EUR. Taxis are also available.

Just to echo the words of others, thank you such a thoughtful gesture, i'll be sure to put an extra something in your FE, One good deed deserves another

SW

Great Idea! :thumbsup2 Check you FE!

I think they're a large hollow plastic braclet filled with sun tan cream. You wear around your wrist so you don't have to carry it and then it's always on-hand to slap on....

or maybe that should be ON-WRIST ;)

SW
Should make an attractive tan line! :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

We decided on the U232 Hotel. It's rated very highly (something like #10 out of over 500 hotels in Barcelona), it's comparatively inexpensive, it's fairly centrally located, and it's really close to the metro, which is how we'll be getting around for sightseeing - other than walking Las Ramblas.

So, hopefully by the time we sail we will be whole - but as we have seen with Stephens wrist injury, things are not always simple...

Not me, but Becca broke her arm. clean break with a "buckle" of the radius. Not sure what buckle means, but she has 98 days to heal... :confused3

Poor little squirt, they splinted it today and the splint makes her keep her arm bent... She is miserable... I didnt have the heart to tell her that the sack may go above the elbow OR that it is likely that she will have it for the rest of her summer break...:scared1::sad1:

CALGON... Take me away...

On a positive note, our request for rotation 1 is in, as are our palo changes... Oh - and we got the address for the port so that we can send magnets for day one ahead of time... :) Its the little things, right?! :cool1:

So sorry to hear about Becca! How did it happen? I hope she feels a little better tomorrow. I'll meet you on Deck 9 for a drink - oops I forgot, we are not there yet - dream away!!!

So sorry to hear about Becca. Did she at least get a pretty colored cast?

I thought we couldn't ship anything ahead of time to Barcelona or did I misunderstand??:confused3
