"Sarah - it is with great sadness that I have to write and tell you that we will not be joining you all in in September. My husband passed away suddenly on Tuesday after a operation on his heart. I would be so greateful if you could you pass on this message to the people making all the arrangements for the activities on board.
Thank you - Heather "
:

Thanks for posting this Sarah. All our thoughts are with Heather at this time! We have cruised with her and Rick a few times now and we are all deeply shocked by this. She is in our thoughts and prayers!

The other day I received a very sad message from Heather ( GOS ) one of our DIS cruisers, with some tragic news. This is the message I received:

I am sure Heather would have wanted all her DIS friends to know what has happened. Although we personally had never had the pleasure to sail with Rick and Heather, I know many of you did, and we were really looking forward to meeting them on the WBTA, especially after reading about many of their adventures on other trip reports. This sad and tragic news has come as a total shock, I guess you never think that something so terrible is going to happen to a fellow cruiser. Our hearts go out to poor Heather and her family
:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

My heart goes out to Heather and her family. Just another reminder of why we must live every moment to the fullest. You never know when it will end.

Sarah - thanks for the post regarding the tragic news for Heather and Rick. My thoughts and prayers go out to Heather at this difficult time.

....and I missed the ENTIRE stuff about the shirts- including the deadline. :sad2: ....Don't tell me they are white... then I will really cry that we missed the deadline....

Have you considered doing your own iron-transfer?

The other day I received a very sad message from Heather ( GOS ) one of our DIS cruisers....

Heather is definitely in my heart and prayers. The shock got to me as well. I sent Heather a message of my condolences last week, and she was kind enough to take the time to send a reply. She's so grateful for the 30 years of wonderful memories with her love that she has to reflect on. Rick's funeral is June 16, so we certainly need to continue to keep her and the family in our thoughts for some time to come.

We love ya, Heather! :grouphug:

I am devastated to hear about Rick. I get very emotional with things like this and I haven't even met them but looked at their sweet picture on our roll call. My heart just breaks. Thank you for sharing, they will be in my prayers.

I know what you mean ... I cried when I got the message and I have never met them either .... I couldn't believe it :sad1::sad1::sad1:
I feel so sad when I see Heather's profile pic on Facebook, it just doesn't seem fair, to be looking forward to something so much and then your life changes in a second to be so devastatingly sad. :sad2:

Ohmygosh that is so sad. Please send on my sincerest condolences.

I need to rant for a few minutes.

My DSis just called, upset. She is a 911 Dispatcher and just got off a call where a family lost a 2 year old little boy for 20 minutes at a park. They said a couple witnesses said they last time they saw him was at the edge of the water:scared1: My sister immediately dispatched water rescue. Unfortunately, the little boy was found and he had drowned. :sad2: :sad1: My rant comes from the fact that two witnesses said they saw him at the waters edge. WHY didnt they see if there was an adult with him? WHY didnt they stop him and redirect him back to his mommy? What a horrible thing to happen and to think if people just looked out for each other this might have been prevented.

I could go on about the parent, but that would be a whole other rant. I understand that all things happen for a reason, but today I just dont want to hear that. My thought and prayers go out to his family as they deal with this tragic loss. To all the rescue workers who found him and who will forever have that image in their brains and to my poor Dsis who feels helpless becasue she was not able to save this one.:sad2: No doube she will be hugging my grandchildren tomorrow, tight, as I will too.

Thanks for letting me vent. Hug someone tonight and be thankful they are with you.

That is so very tragic, for everyone concerned x

The Little Adventures princess dress versions are incredibly comfortable, extremely soft, flexible, and not scratchy at all. They make acceptable versions to pass for real ones, at least in my opinion, and my daughter would live in them every day all day if I'd let her. Plus we have matching outfits for her Princess Bunny (they also fit Americal Girl sized dolls). Here are some of the dresses that we have. We also have the accessories (headbands, Snow White's cape, Cinderella choker etc.) which they also sell:

Beautiful photos...seems an age since my dd used to dress in her princess dresses...must try and dig out some pix...she's 22 now! ;)

Can you believe it?!! We will all be doing the double-digit dance this week!!

:thumbsup2That's right!

I'm still trying to read all of the last thread! :rotfl2:

and I missed the ENTIRE stuff about the shirts- including the deadline. :sad2:
Ohwell, guess it wasn't meant to be for us to have them.
Are they black this time? Don't tell me they are white... then I will really cry that we missed the deadline. If they are black, tell me- then I won't feel so bad about missing the deadline.
darnit! I knew I should keep up with this thread more now that we're getting closer to the date especially! I blame wwf, facebook and my kids. yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

Yes indeed , they are white ..... but contact Sue asap , you still may have time

Well we are **super**-excited here: my 15 year old niece is joining us! She is super-cool and a really great girl! She is very excited - she hasn't done much traveling.

Can she be added to the FE lists under my mom's cabin (Tru)? I don't have permission to add her name to the lists, so let's call her "R" for now.

I am so excited to be able to view our trip through another kid's lens! She is going to be very interested in plans etc. so I have another person to share the Dis joy with!

Do you want her added to the lanyard list as well? I certainly have extra lanyards and would be happy to give her one...just PM me and let me know if you think she'll want one. If you want me to add her as "R" under Tru until you get permission for her name to be put on the nametag/list, I can do that...or I can even leave one blank for her so her name never appears on the list and she can just write her name in with a sharpie if she'd like.

PM me and me know!

Order your lanyards today!

That last post reminded me to post another general announcement, as well. Right now we have about 220 of our 300 lanyards spoken for....which means that if there are folks who have procrastinated...OR, even better, if you are new to our thread and recently joined up on this cruise with us and you'd like lanyards, then read the info in Post #1 and/or PM me for details!!

Hey Everyone,

The best news....the event (which was smaller than in years past becuase of some big organizational changes at my agency---which sponsored/benefitted from the event) brought in just over $52,000-----and I brought in almost $2900 of that myself---making me the top fundraising walker of the day and my team (which inlcluded 5 of my coworkers) the top fundraising team for the day.

Great job.:cheer2: Congratulations:dance3:

 Awesome!! That's so thrilling for all of you!!! Indeed it will be a new, fun experience to see literally the world through her eyes!

In regards to the FE exchange, I would PM sue_kraft who is managing the participant list so your inquiry doesn't get lost in the pages of posts.
