I thought it odd as welll, but this is what is on the spreadsheet that was sent...

I just spoke with Castaway Club and she gave me different info....

Formal nights:

Night # 2 (19th) and night # 7 (24th)
Night # 8 -(25th) themed night (but she had no info on what that meant. I'm thinking maybe Villians)
Pirates - St Marteen night which is night # 11
Semi formal night #13 - this would likely be Captain's Gala and lobster night.

Now we have confusion, but it makes more sense to have Pirates when we are in the Caribbean. It also is more like Disney to have the first formal night on a sea day (day 2) vs Gibralter day.

OK - I went back to concierge and asked more questions on menus and rotations... We shall see... :)

As I have seen in the past, keep asking until you get the answer you are looking for (and then get it in writing!)

Only 1 semi formal night :confused3

Think if you're not looking to eat anywhere fancy you should be able to eat between £15 to £20 Per person per meal. There are also plenty of chain restaurants serving good inexpensive meals all over london. Many of these offer buy one get one free or voucher offers which means you can eat even more inexpensively.

Thanks for the estimates. I guess double then convert to pounds is pretty accurate. So how much do pints of beer and mix drinks usually run around the Piccadilly area?

That's a good estimate.:thumbsup2 I was wondering how to answer. A lot does depend on how you like to eat - starters, main and dessert etc. Whether you want to spend on special thinks like afternoon tea somewhere, etc etc.
no dessert. afternoon tea:confused3 why?
afternoon booze now that's what I'll be looking for. :cool1: then :rotfl2:

Seriously though, we'll just be doing a lot of walking/tubing around town Buckingham palace, London tower, Hyde Park, the eye, Big Ben, and Globe theater are our main goals. I was hoping to eat at places as we passed by, but I guess I need to research gluten free friendly choices for my DW though.

I think they are trying to toy with my affections (or addictions) and confuse me...

Here is the latest exchange... I hope I doni't need to worry about what they book for us!! :rotfl2:

Hi Sue,

Yes that is interesting! Well, since it is subject to change maybe they will swap those nights J

Hi Autumn,

Thnks for the list! how funny that we will have the "Taste of the Caribbean" menu while in the Med and the "Flavors of the Med" while in the Caribbean... Oh well! I will probably have a list to work through come Friday... Needless to say we are very excited!

Thanks again!
Sue

Sue - thanks for getting the correction. I knew it wasn't your fault, :rotfl2:it had to be Disney. Believe me, they are not thinking about our cruise as much as we are thinking about our cruise. :cool1:

Also, somebody mentioned earlier that they were allowed 2 bags - I think Krisann - is this 2 carry on - or 2 checked bags on Delta? I am confused and excited about this at the same time.:confused3

Thanks for the kiwi, pomegranate explanation - now I understand.

I do not know when the chocolate buffet is but there is a buffet on Pirates Night with Turkey legs and tons of goodies. We only order the appetizers off the Pirate menu so we can eat off of the buffet after the show.

Just popping in to say PIF (I lurk trying to keep up - just no time to post). Been dragging my feet on my last $135 as it was $498 but the prices came down a bit a while ago and I got a price adjustment. I was hoping for another before the PIF date, but atlas I have joined the PIF club.

BTW - upgraded from a Cat 10 to a Cat 6 on the 10-day prior for a $1200+ refund! So excited to have my first balcony.

I feel really bad because on the FE list, I don't know about half the people!!:scared1:

lol me neither...but they're just friends we haven't met yet right?:thumbsup2

I wanna be a coconut .....:rotfl2::rotfl2: anyway , I am just doing all the FE's that are hangin out ... I got enough FE gifts for everyone since they are small , but very very useful and the kids (and some Pirates) will love them ....sort of leaving me mark on everyone ..LOL ha ha

pirate:

Thats so nice!

Just spoke to dd who says drinks in central London can be anything.....from £2.50 to £5 (!!!) for a pint of beer, and similar for a spirit & mixer.....it does depend on the place you drink and where it is......how trendy etc!:rolleyes1

Afternoon tea at Harrods Georgian Rooms, or one of the plush hotels like the Ritz etc is a really quaint English delight :) The Champagne tea at harrods is even nicer!

See??? It is an occasion in London!!!!! Get the champagne!!!!

Mum and I went to London for the day on Saturday and we went for afternoon tea at the Radisson Edwardian on Bloomsbury St, at the moment there are two for one offers on so it was very reasonable. Plenty of sandwiches, scones and cakes, in a lovely enviroment  we will do it again!

We also went to see the Art & Love exibtion at the Queens Gallery. It has many of the items that Queen Victoria and Prince Albert brought each other during their courtship and marriage. We spent a fantastic morning and througly enjoyed it.

Then it was over to the London eye this was 2 for 1 so check out the offers.

Captain Jack pirate: was in Covent Garden, took a picture with my phone but haven't got the technology to up load it :rolleyes1

PM me if you want any of the web addresses we used.

.

Ok sorry to confuse you or anyone else about the luggage on Delta - I and my husband are Elite members with Delta - so that gets us extra luggage - on Delta operated flights everyone in our party gets 2 checked bags free - but on code-share operated by KLM (our flight to barcelona after our visit to Austria) only my hubby and I will get 2 bags as they only give it to elite members)

I am sure that is clear as mud - but bottom line - elite members get 2 free bags on Delta - non- elite have different rules. Sorry for confusing anyone.

OK UK crew, since I'll be in London for 5 days prior to going to Barcelona, how much cash (pounds) should I bring for touring around and eating at local pubs? I probably won't be going anywhere fancy, but I know London is expensive.
I know a lot can be purchased with credit cards, but I'll have enough on that to pay on our on board account.

Thanks in advance:thumbsup2

If you need somewhere cheap - Wetherspoon pubs fit the bill. The food is OK and drink is affordable. They are a big chain however the pubs usually have a bit of character.

I think if you're hoping to pop into a passing pub and find gluten free you might be out of luck! but not being gluten free myself i may be wrong on that one.

google "gluten free london" to find some interesting and helpful websites.

Am I going blind??????????:3dglasses
I can only still only see 1 semi formal.

Not going blind, you just have to stare at the screen, don't break your stare, for 60 seconds. Then blink really fast for a couple seconds. You will then see the extra semi-formal. Go ahead try it, it really works :thumbsup2

If they were thinking about our cruise as much as we are they would have overloaded the server by now :surfweb:
