Sue, I really appreciate this, but I find it a little odd, that the Med dinners will be when we are in the Caribbean and the Caribbean dinners are when we are in the Med. Any chance the concierge didn't know as much as us!! ha ha!! It doesn't match up with "Little Birdie" either. I just thought I would bring it up to see if anyone else found it odd. Maybe I am odd:dance3:

Me neither, but I figure this is one way to get to know people. The other way is coming by the boards more often. I will try very hard to do just that.

I ordered mine yesterday and the ban just called and say they are here. My only question is how much to take.

I am only taking about 100 euros because I won't have a day in Barcelona so I only need them for Gibraltor and Madiera - plus credit cards.

I am glad you will be coming on the boards more often. I know we are all busy, and I hate that we cannot talk about the cruise 24-7!!

You brought out a good point. We will be in Barcelona for two days prior to the cruise. Guess I need to rethink the amount.

OK UK crew, since I'll be in London for 5 days prior to going to Barcelona, how much cash (pounds) should I bring for touring around and eating at local pubs? I probably won't be going anywhere fancy, but I know London is expensive.
I know a lot can be purchased with credit cards, but I'll have enough on that to pay on our on board account.

Thanks in advance:thumbsup2

Whatever you would spend in usa and double it i would say.

OK - so let me start with a

HEY - DizzneyDAnn PLEASE empty some PM's so I can get FE information from you!!!

So, here is my delima...

I have tried like heck to keep groups at 15 cabins max. I have been able to honor all the requests - *I* think. And now we are coming to closing date and I am unable to reach a few people.

Harvey aside I am unable to confirm DizzneyDAnn and her party. If I have the details right they have at letst 2 cabins. From the rollcall, there are 2 adults and 6 kids - some teens.

If she has dropped, then I am at a group of 15. If she has not then I would be at a group of 17 cabins - and a week or so to go until cut off date.

I know there is time, and I am just being anal - but the next 2 weeks are looking hellacious at work and I would like to ahve as much of this wrapped up as possible.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this? For the following people are you ok with a larger group?

Hoagie Pie, ReAnSt / Nacho1337, Goofy Granny, Disney Sweetie, CruzDirectorKaren, , Rufustee, , KrisannB, 1DisneyQueen, Granmaz, Terapin, gailadams_uk, DizzneyDAnn, Bob_and_Dawn, CarsFans, UKAngel

I see 3 outcomes. First a larger group of 15 cabins at a minimum unless we lose people from the above list. Second, 2 much smaller groups (dividing out the 17 cabins into a 9 and an 8). And third (not a favorite at all) is to drop DizzneyDAnn as I can't get her to respond to posts here onthe board and her PM box is full.

I really don't like number 3 as I have to see anyone get left out. however, we are getting down to the last moments and people are begging to see the groupings...

So everyone listed above is a Pommegranate. I leave the decisions of what to do to you guys, but I do need to know one way or another pretty soon as we are 10 days til the deadline.

Thanks!

Sue

Yet again Sue WELL DONE !!!! and Thank you for all the "fishy" planning

Certainly think option of 17 in the final group seems the best idea, seems thats still WAY below what most people are used to dealing with on cruises.

Think any late comers will have to added into a new group, on the understanding that it may end up as a smaller group as you may not get 15 late comers.... although if Disney drop there prices for the cruise you may end up filling the late arrivals group easiler than you might think.

Super Duper work

Think if you're not looking to eat anywhere fancy you should be able to eat between £15 to £20 Per person per meal. There are also plenty of chain restaurants serving good inexpensive meals all over london. Many of these offer buy one get one free or voucher offers which means you can eat even more inexpensively.

Just seen the list of what meals, are when, does anyone know what night the midnight buffet will be?

Missed it last time as was still to full from dinner:)

Thanks Sarah

That's a good estimate.:thumbsup2 I was wondering how to answer. A lot does depend on how you like to eat - starters, main and dessert etc. Whether you want to spend on special thinks like afternoon tea somewhere, etc etc.

Paid in Full last week!:banana::banana:
Slowly getting things marked off the long to do list:)
:woohoo::woohoo:
Also, funny question - is anybody ordering their Euros from their bank now since it is dropping or are you still waiting for a later time? I thought I would go to my bank at the end of the week. I have an e-mail into my financial guy about doing it now or if he thinks they may drop more. I know people from Europe don't like this, and I can sympathize!

Purchasing Euros early is making me real nervous right now. Reports I have read talk about a possible collapse of that currency. :confused3 We have rotten, really rotten financial luck..:rolleyes1...we are lucky in love though so I will take that!! :lovestruc
I wanna be a coconut .....:rotfl2::rotfl2: anyway , I am just doing all the FE's that are hangin out ... I got enough FE gifts for everyone since they are small , but very very useful and the kids (and some Pirates) will love them ....sort of leaving me mark on everyone ..LOL ha ha

pirate:

And that Sir, is why YOU are the Captain!!!:grouphug:

With the dining list that was given above, it looks like someone has just put our cruise dates/days in the place of the EBTA, hence the Taste of the Caribbean and Flavours of the Med being at the wrong ends of the cruise?

As far as I can remember the EB had Pirates Night on Madeira day, which would fit in with the dates above.

Lynne, my op is on Saturday. In for 7.30 and ready for home between 12md and 2pm!!!!!

Good Luck Marilyn! Just think about the relief you'll feel when it's done! :goodvibes

This might be old and since I am "new" again to this board, I wanted to post where you can look at the Disney Dream. It does not look like it could be done in 8 months, but what do I know. http://www.meyerwerft.de/page.asp?lang=e&main=2&subs=0&did=826 I check it out every week.

I check out this site regularly, too. Also, if you are a fan of DCL on FB they post updates with pics. I'm on the inaugural and I am so thankful that the work is progressing as planned with no delays. :cool1::cool1:

Funny! I've added it to my list of things to pack. Thanks!! :worship::worship:

So, I was right - we can probably bring some of the cruise shirts over to barcleona with us. I have part of a carry one that is (yep, really) not accounted for...

Does this work for people? I can bring them all the way to the ship and distribute at the meet, or if you are at the Praktik I can distribute there...

Thoughts??

I worry about the weight of the shirts. It would be awful for you to incur any fees. Are you planning on taking ALL of the shirts to Barcelona? Or are you just taking the ones for those who do not live in the US?

Off to Anaheim for two days. Will try to post again if I have time. Everyone have a wonderful day!!

Just my thoughts...

:surfweb:

Lucky!!!! I'll be at the DL hotel next month!!!! Have a great time!!!

For anybody that is waiting on the 2010 Passporter book release, I just read this post on the PP forums from Dave Marx. I'm thinking the earliest that it maybe shipped out is July! Granted, we don't set sail until September but I thought we'd have the book by now. Oh well...

I'm a little disappointed because I like their reviews of the excursions and with the delays I don't think I will have the book by the time I can book excursions. I'll figure it out. :goodvibes

I love it when a plan comes together. The following is from Autumn in the Concierge dept. Who was more than happy to share it so I could plan things with my ship mates accordingly. She probably didn't know thathtere were hundreds of us...

Yes - from Autumn - I got it at about noon today.

I thought it odd as welll, but this is what is on the spreadsheet that was sent...

Hey everyone :)

Sue- I sent you a PM about shirts sizes.

I didnt think about getting Euros ahead of time. Silly me! I bet my small local credit union wouldn't much help but I should try. Since we are only in Barcelona 2 days before hand, would I been stupid to exchange them in airport for the taxi into town and then go to Thomas Cook/AMEX office for more? Thats what we did when we went to Paris. I'm sure its not the best rate but I'm all about convenince.

It's a beautiful day here in the Mitten. It's 76 and sunny :)

I was looking to carry on all of the non US shirts. the way it is looking we will have one extra bag that I can stuff full!:cool1: I wasn't thinking that we all get a carry oin and a personal bag - so we got a bonus...
