Just a quick post. My BIL Michael who lives in Mt Shasta sent me this tonight. The link is a video of him going over the falls at Slate Creek He is the last guy over the falls in the baby blue boat. Not such a great video.but you get the idea. Slate Creek is 30 minutes from his house.

Just trying to figure out our FE gifts- are more people doing 1 gift per cabin or per person? Or does it matter? I'm not very creative but I love to think I am  Since we only have 120 days until we leave, I have to get on the ball. I have to stop reading the home made FE gift thread. It gives me too many ideas that I know I can't do!

I am hoping to do one for the ladies and one for the guys and a few bits and pieces for the kids. It really doesn't matter what you do though, it's entirely up to you :goodvibes ..last time I cruised I left everything until the last minute and it was soooooo hectic, and I had no intention of doing that again ... especially as I booked 2 years out. Guess what ... with only 4 months to go I still haven't started my gifts .... WHY WHY WHY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who live where the ash cloud is, do you notice it on a day-day basis or is it that it is in the atmosphere for the most part? Just wondering!

We can't actually see it from the ground, although some days it seems generally murky, but thats probably just the UK weather anyways.

DH and I split the entrée. If we don't have room for cheesecake, we take a slice home.

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

and very sensible thoughts they are too ..... :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I also love checking out the FE thread, people are so creative! :thumbsup2

I know ... it's a brilliant thread. Still need some inspiration for the guys though
:confused3:confused3

Maybe but I didn't even remember the date when I got all excited! LOL! It wasn't until you text messaged me last night that I remembered...I was working at the store doing a floor move! It was fun...hot but fun! The a/c turns off once the store closes so it was boiling hot in the store last night.

We have not noticed any ash on the car ( we have a black car ) or anywhere else. I think there was some reports of dust settling in the far north of Scotland but it is really just up in the atsmophere.
On the news this morning they were saying the planes would be allowed to fly through more denser ash than previously so there should be less disruption hopefully :thumbsup2

I know they are saying this but I am not sure I feel happy myself flying through what is essentially an unknown quantity. I am a very nervous flyer at the best of times and all of this is just making me worse. It might just be that we opt for the train in any case.

No ash.

Good Day

I am unable to sleep, again. So instead of laying in bed tossing and turning I thought I would come and try to catch up on you guys.

I am still not sure about the secret Mickey exchange, but I am almost finished making my FE gifts.

Still have not paid for the cruise yet, but I am sure they will be calling and wanting their money.:thumbsup2

It will be interesting to see how many people are still going after the 21st.

I know guys are hard!! That's why I changed to a cabin gift, which has something for everyone, I hope, food to share, a handmade gift (family orientated) and an Australian souvenir for each person.
So, I will share some of my Guy gifts I had idea's for but didn't use, Here goes - bottle opener, drink/can holder, key ring, homemade sleeping mask, business card holder, playing cards, calendar, homemade disney tie, socks, hat, pen, that's about all I can remember now. I hope something inspired you! :goodvibes

You don't see it up in the air, though when it was at its worse in the beginning it made for some stunning sunset photos. As someone has said some areas have had light layers of ash on the cars, but not here.

I really quite fancy the train - a bit of an adventure!!!

WOW, it is a slow night. Nothing going on here or on Facebook. How is one to occupy their time?:confused3

Just a reminder that we are hoping to have a Farewell PrizeGiving Lunch : Parrot Cay 30th September (last sea day). We will be giving out the prizes for the Scavenger Hunt / Quiz and the FE competition, plus any other things we may still come up with ....

So far we have the following attending:

Sarah and Tony ( TotallyAngelic)
Paula plus 2 (PaulaSillars)

I hope we may have a few more .....

Please send me a PM if you wish to attend this lunch, although this will be very flexible and informal, it will help to know how many tables to reserve in one area.

We are still coming but, due to a screw up with the TA our PIF date isn't until June 22. We'll be doing PIF just after May 21st though.

As for FE gifts - I have the cabin gift almost done and ready to order but I want to do some things for the kids when I find out ages and how many! I am axious for the deadline to get here so I can find out all my details!

Krisann

Krisann, you're so well organised!:)

Not going anywhere without Bob (and You)

Maybe if we all faced West while on the boat and blow as strong as possible would that slow the rotation of the earth down causing the cruise to be extended.:rolleyes1

Jon

Let's give it a try!:thumbsup2

Both my sister and I have noticed very fine ash on our cars but not for a week or so now....
