Glad everything was ok - I live in Jackson, TN and we have had 3 major tornado's in the past 10 years go through our city so we jump everytime there is a warning.

Oh, it is coming very quickly now. We are looking at alternative ways to get to Barcelona just in case the dreaded ash cloud is around at that time. some UK airports are closed today again!

Can you take the Chunnel ferry? I don't think it probably would be practical to take the car as storing it for weeks would be expensive.

Maybe fly from Paris or something like that?

We are flying from SFO to Frankfurt and don't think it will impact but who knows?

We would have driven down if we could, but I think a one way car hire would be well out of our price range.

We are looking at the train. It is an overnight one from Paris, and we can get the Eurostar to there. Looks very nice too and a reasonable price. I think there is a price that is refundable, so we could have both that and the air flight option open.

Ha ha! Yes! No wonder us Brits like to take our holidays in USA!
Another tip is Starbucks. They have clean toilets. They are often kept locked though, and you have to ask behind the counter for the key. But this usually means they keep a good close eye on the state of them, and I have never known them charge.

but I am kind of sad because I just found out that when my daughter and I get back from the cruise, my husband has to go to San Diego for a week. When he flies back, we will have house guests for 3 days!!! Ahhh! It is all a little much right now and was looking forward to showing him pictures and all the fun things we did. Well, you will have a week to get all your photos in order to show to DH and then make the house guests look at the too!

There is a thread about needing toilet paper in the cities in Europe. While I know that is kind of gross, it is an important thing to have with you at all times. So you may want to add a small travel roll or wet wipes to your packing list.

Now back to your regular programming...

I am SO glad this conversation was started!! We have a travel roll of charmin that I will remember to put in and we have a few travel seat covers. The sanitizer wipes will also be on my list. We have never been to Europe, so this is the kind of info we NEED!! I think I will keep an eye out for McD's, KFC or Starbucks also. We can always use a coffee.

What about the hotel room? Will there be paper there?

Tutta Italia, is beautiful. I can't remember the price but then when I'm at Disney I don't usually look.

Now I've eaten at Palo I can see its similar,though its not as exclusive

We LOVE Tutta Italia. We eat there on the meal plan. Otherwise, it is too expensive. I have made reservations there for our anniversary Oct 6.
