My daughter and I were having a conversation tonight at dinner and she wanted me to ask all of you from Great Britain - when you go to Epcot, do you eat in Great Britain or do you avoid it because that is where you live? I said you probably go and she said you probably avoid it. We are just trying to have a fun little debate between the two of us. THANKS!:goodvibes

In recent years we seem to snack at Epcot, mostly because we're trying to get a good spot for the fireworks :woohoo:

The last few visits I have been trying to book outside dinning at the Rose & Crown, for the fireworks spot, but also as its good to get a taste of home  Last December we ate at the Harry Ramsden Fish and Chip takeaway

Over the years we have eaten in nearly all of the restaurants as we love to try different cuisines - what do they say theres no taste like home but variety is the spice of life :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know this won't help your debate :grouphug:

We really enjoy the Epcot fish and chips. However, living close to the real Harry Ramsdens and being brought up eating the original, the Epcot ones are only pretend, which of course is the best they can do anyway!!!

We always eat lunch at Le Chefs de France. Their fixed price menu is great value, and we have always had great service.

I read very mixed reviews about the Rose and Crown. I would love to try Tutta Italia, but it does look very expensive. The rest - well we just aren't adventurous eaters.:sad2:

Tutta Italia, is beautiful. I can't remember the price but then when I'm at Disney I don't usually look.

Now I've eaten at Palo I can see its similar, though its not as exclusive :)

Congrats to everyone who has joined the PIF club :woohoo:

:thanks: to everyone who has been working to make this a wonderful cruise

Paula your hair looks fab,are you going to keep it short?

party: well done for rasiing so much money

DH John and I, together with our good friend Nancy reconnected last night with a dear friend we hadn't seen in years. We lost touch with him when he was working in London and now he is back. We had dinner at a wonderful place in San Francisco called Coco500 on Brannon Street. http://coco500.com/

Here is Nancy and I:

Tell your daughter she is spot on as far as were concerned, you can also tell her that although they call it uk it is very very English(well it was the last time I walked past) (sorry ran:lmao:)

So we had an interesting evening tonight. Around 5:15ish, a thunderstorm started to roll into Allentown, PA. I was at my parent's house at the time and I was just playing around on the computer. Next thing I knew, we had a severe thunderstorm warning...did I mention my parent's are puppy-sitting two dogs and one dog HATES thunderstorms. The storm starts and it's gettng pretty bad...next thing I know, I heard hail...1-3" inch hail. I run to the front of the house and look out the window at our cars parked in the driveway and the hail was bouncing off the cars like mad! :scared1:

So it continues to hail...next thing I know my sister tells us that there is a tornado warning! There is no basement at my parent's house so my sister says that we are going into the bathroom because there are no windows in there. So, my sister gathers our purses, we put the dogs on their leashes and take the computer into the bathroom. We were in there for a good 15 minutes until the storm had passed. Although we didn't have a tornado, a funnel cloud was reported in a town next to Allentown.

We don't get funnel clouds or tornado warnings very often, so when they happen it is scary. When the storm was over, the skies cleared and the sun came out. Thankfully there was no damage done to the cars... but it was an interesting early evening!
It was a really scary storm..

Hi all, as some of you know, I (and my colleagues) have been fundraising for Canteen and Child Cancer Foundation. Thanks to those here who donated to our cause :lovestruc

We raised nearly $5000 over the last 8 or so weeks and last night we had our heads shaved.

I opted of a #4 on the clippers as I didn't want to look like a skinhead for our trip not to mention, I burn very easily and even though its nearly winter here now, the UV index is still very high (we have the highest rate of skin cancer in the world (even more so than Australia).

So without further ado, here is my new style - its taking some getting used to I have to say and it feels like a plush toy :rotfl:

Also while I was updating pictures, I also updated the Candy Swap page - still room to join if anyone is interested. I'd be happy to create group 6 ;)
You look marvelous!:goodvibes:goodvibes

:welcome: to the club!:goodvibes

We may hit Topsiders for dinner on this cruise too, we've always gone to the main dining rooms but might go upstairs on the formal nights as none of our clothing can be considered formal by any stretch of the imagination :rotfl2:
While we are not avoiding formal night, we may opt to do this as well - just to have a more relaxed dinner.

I use Mousesavers as a guide - they list the various rental agencies that are near the port and what types of pickups they have. We are going with Hertz by the look of it this time.

We are with Hertz as well. I was trying to figure out timing of getting the van. I was hoping that Glenn could get off and get it early, and then call us as he was on his way back to the port. I am just not sure that this would work with customs... (I also haven't told him about the plan,so...)

Seriously, I think we should have a group consensus that if people don't respond to their emails/PMs, they will be scratched off the various groups. It takes far too long to chase people up.
I like this idea, but am afraid that it maygbet ugly. :confused3

I have people in the remaining FE groups that area not answering PM's, so I am not sure if they are still in or not. I have people that just joined and I have no clue as to how many cabins... It is getting frustrating.

I guess if everyone agrees to this I am onboard (so to speak!)

I've just done something similar for "stuff we haven't paid for yet" - its getting well up there now and I haven't added in a few items I'd omitted yet

I am afraid to do this... (although I need to...) We haven't figured out any excursions as yet, so I am not sure if I am looking for a private tours or not. Somehow I think that by the time I am able to make this list, it will be staggering...

Sue

Thanks for the picture! Becca is getting excited about the trip. We finished the countdown chain and hung it up yesterday - but it doesn't start for 10 more days. I also ordered a call from goofy for the night before we leave for Spain. Can't wait to get that call!!!

Say hi to the girls for us! Cant wait to meet them!!

Sue and Becca

Sorry to jam up the thread (just helping out on getting to number 5!!!).
My girls wanted to send a photo to Becca so she know's what they look like, as they have seen her pirate outfit photo.
So, for Becca, This is Lucy and Bella.

Thank you to everyone for weighing in on our Epcot food discussion. We looked at the boards as soon as we got up. We appreciate it and are laughing at our silliness.:rotfl2:

We avoid the second formal night too so we should just make it a Dis dinner at Topsiders for all who want to attend. I have done this many times - also we wait till the pizza opens, grab a salad and we are good to go!!!

I ordered the call from Goofy too - 2 nights before we sail! I am excited, I never did anything like that before - have you????

Thanks again for participating in our poll.:grouphug:

Hadn't even thought of a pizza night - thanks for that! I am sure the kids will appreciate it!!

Haven't done the call before, but to be honest I didnt' even see the option for one last year. We wouldn't have used it last year as we totally surprised the kids. They didn't know about the cruise until we were unloading luggage! It was fun keeping the secret but my 13 year old was a bit miffed that he wasn't in on the planning... So this time they are both in on the deal (well, most of it... The cabin upgrade is a surprise!)

That place looks wonderful! Our son, Mike, who was on the 2007 EBTA and the 2008 WBPC cruises, has just started a 3 month internship in Palo Alto. He is looking forward to exploring San Franscisco. Today he went to the Disney Family Museum. He's so funny, he is sharing an apartment and so far they each have an airbed, a folding camping chair and a card table. Only guys would live that way! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

lol I think my Becky wold probably do that too if I let her !:rolleyes1

This might be old and since I am "new" again to this board, I wanted to post where you can look at the Disney Dream. It does not look like it could be done in 8 months, but what do I know. http://www.meyerwerft.de/page.asp?lang=e&main=2&subs=0&did=826 I check it out every week.

Thank you!:woohoo:
