I basically re-signed in and then it showed I was PIF! :yay::yay::yay: No income tax return yet, but I needed to pay for it anyway. I used my Disney Visa so at least I'll get some Rewards points from it. :thumbsup2

That's great news.....:banana::banana:Welcome to the Club.

Time to do the dance of joy . . . as recently said by our Captain and our Crew Chief (that should be you Sue!)

Cruise Paid In Full - check

Plane tickets for 4 to Barcelona - check

Ride from Barcelona Airport to flat for 4 sleep and excited folks - check

Flat reserved for 3 days in Barcelona - check

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Counting the days to cruise with y'all!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:Wonderful news.....welcome.

It is a flavored tablet you put in water that disolves like the old alka-seltzer, but it is loaded with a bunch of vitamins. It was invented by a teacher and I swear by it when I am coming down with a cold. When I was on the Med cruise in 07 I felt so bad I told Joi we were going to check the store on the ship to see if they had it and I was buying it regardless of the price. They did have it, a took it twice and felt like new again. Some people say it does not work, but it always has for me.

Thank you...thinking about it, I think I do remember seeing them in Walmart for sale.

Wow! After reading 20 pages tonight I'm finally caught up. We are paid in full now too! Yeah! My husband let me fly home to see my parents over mother's day. Then he came down sick. Probably from trying to keep up with the kids. :)

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:Welcome to the club:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

You can visit anytime!!!! I get sad when they change the date and time too. Also, when they do ridiculous take offs at 4 or 6 in the morning!!! I always wanted to do it but it wasn't a reality until I moved to Florida. I wish I was getting ready to leave on a cruise when they had takeoff - life would be oh so wonderful!!!

By the way, the cruise ship looks great and it seems like they put on a good show for everyone - buffet and all! That is great - still biased to Disney though!!! Looks like it was a fun day!

We did get to see a night launch from the Magic. It was an amazing once in a lifetime event!! The Captain kept us just off shore rather than heading on out. :goodvibes The launch was around 8:45 I think. We were late dining and when it was launch time the restaurant emptied and we all ran out to watch, hear, feel it. Felt bad for the servers, but they understood and picked up the pace when we returned so that dinner was not too late finishing.

Thanks, have you ever seen cruise ship diarys?

No, on whits channel was this?

Thanks, that's reassuring. One of our reasons for choosing this cruise was the date, with the rationale that the new school term starts beginning September, and I would think few parents would wish their older children of school age to miss the start and first few weeks of a new school year. I am less concerned about little ones, they fall asleep eventually and look so sweet in their Prince/Princess clothes!

I sure hope it's my prince and princess that's asleep!! :)

I would have loved that - how lucky are you???? The night ones are especially beautiful because you can watch it forever in the sky. We blare the TV and stand outside so we can hear everything. That is nice that the Captain did that - unfortunately not a launch when we are around the area. The next launch is Sept. 16, maybe it will be delayed for 10-12 days or so. We can hope!!!!

I watched it too from my yard but too many trees/clouds until it was really high. I did get up @ 6:00 AM to watch the previous launch. It is stunning to watch while it is still dark. Good luck with that 10-12 day delay happening.

The good news is I have been accepted to nursing school:banana::banana: I have been taking prerequisite classes for the past year toward this goal.

Now the bad news, school starts July 12, so I will officially be cancelling this cruise later this morning:sad1:

I know you will all have a wonderful time on the cruise, and I'll be thinking about all of you come September!

What a pity we won't get to meet you. 'm sure your next cruise will be just as much fun. Congratulations on nursing school!

Also, please bring your Pal Mickey. OMG, Terry's is so cute. He has as many outfits as she does.:lmao::lmao:

And then there are the really obnoxious kids, running around the ship in Mickey ears and Mickey slippers, hooping and hollering about making it to the spa, and the drink of the day. :drinking1: Dancing around the decks waving hello to everybody. Standing on the bow talking about how they are the queens of the world! Smiling all the time. Standing in line waiting to take a picture with Mickey and showing him their Sailor Mickey stuffie and Pal Mickey dressed in his lounging pajamas. :smickey: Or tux. Or beachwear. Silly kids bringing their Pal Mickeys and other Mickeys in their lifejackets for the drill. Giggling constantly. Dancing during the deck parties. :dance3: Crying every time they hear the horn. Standing in line bouncing like they have to go potty as they wait to see the characters. :yay:

Oh there will be unruly kids there. I know two very, very well.

We only have the one outfit, and DD normally keeps him naked! :scared1::scared1::scared1:
Sound like my DH will fit in with those kids just fine!:cool1:

Put me into this category as well. My kids are very excited about going on this trip. And, while we try to keep them from eating junk food all the time, the sheer excitement could lead to a melt down with my little one. My older (is 13) will spend most of the time with the Ocean Quest group. I hope that he contines to be the polite young man that I know he can be. And it prior cruises are an indicator, any unruliness will be in our cabin. I really hope it wont be an issue and he is the history buff of the family and is researching ports and learning the local history and customs.

I think anybody who has kids will understand a melt down. I think they are just worried we won't discipline them and at least try to control them. My kids are good kids, I've brought them up with manners and respect, and I'm sure your the same. That's all we can do! ;)

Put my daughter in the same category as your son. No need to worry, but do kids with parents have to worry about the people without kids and a few drinks!!:dance3: I heard the only problem on the WBTA last year was that some parents didn't tell their children to sit down during dinner so they would run around the tables. That is the only issue I have ever heard of, of course I am sure there are more. Since I am Captain's Dining, I think I need to worry more then the people with Crew Dining!

CACruisin - Congrats on Nursing school!!!

Sounds like the drinking old kids could be louder and more excited than the little non drinking kids! :lmao::lmao::lmao: My kids know they have to sit down in a restaurant, be quiet during shows, and they can run and go wild in the playgrounds and kids club. :thumbsup2 As my mum used to say to me, and now I hear myself saying it to my kids "there is a time and place for everything", OMG I'm turning into my mum!:rotfl:

Glenn swears that none of these are his creations...
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

OK - the truth comes out... DH MADE HARVEY UP!!! I could hit him (hard) right now...

Heres how it played out... DH tucks DS into bed and pops in to chat (I am laying in bed watcing Mercy). I ask if got the picture from Harvey and he say No, I did it. I say something about how the person is signed up for lanyards and FE. He chuckles and says I made him up. He is a 6ft invisible rabbit. He then laughs, apologises and leaves the room laughing says he will go and read my post. Probably a good thing as I was ready to hit him...

So, take Harvey the 6ft invisible rabbit of the list. (Truthfully, I should have know - Harvey the Rabbit and Elwood from Blues Brothers... Way to much of a coincidence...)

Yes, you too can pick on DH!!!

Sue

Sue, Harvey is coming to our regional theatre festival! It was on the radio the morning after you revealed your DH's caper, lol.

You will be missed, but HUGE CONGRATS!!! DCL will obviously be doing more TA cruises, but the 1st term of Nursing School only comes once, you will do awesome, you have worked very hard for this.

Just a quick interruption to offer my condolences to any Bruins fans lurking. :rolleyes1

Way to go FLYERS!!! :woohoo:

Thank you and back to cruise talk.

Well congrats Philly fans....an Islander fan here....we play a great game of golf these days!

OK fellow Transatlantic cruisers.....never did anything longer than a 7 night cruise.....so maybe some of the experts can help me. First, we are flying on DCL air....any idea when we will be assigned flights....we are flying from JFK to Barcelona and then MCO to JFK.....secondly we are category 11 GTY....any idea when and if they assign staterooms on the longer cruises any earlier than the 7 night ones?

Thanks....hopefully some of you experts out there have some advice.

Tom:cool1:

Up front apologies... this is long... So, grab a conch cooler substitute, take a load off and read up on where we are...

Daily Update!
Ahoy Mates! This is the first of many daily updates that will be sent out! I say daily, but I imagine that they could be sent out 2X per day as we are trying to wrap things up and we don’t want anyone to be left out.

T SHIRTS
The t-shirt deadline is looming and I need all ye orders as quickly as possible! We get a price break at 100 shirts and as of today we are at 64. To keep the prices in line, we really need to get all orders in as soon as possible. As a reminder, our cutoff date for ordering shirts is May 31. So, no time like the present, please get your orders in. NO EXTRA SHIRTS WILL BE ORDERED!!!

PRICING:
Shirts should come in at about $12-$13 per shirt. This is for sizes up to an adult XL. Shirts above XL will have a slightly higher price. We are getting a very high quality shirt that should not shrink, and should hold the screened image very well.

SHIPPING:
The captain is able to secure a flat rate to ship for the US. We are looking at about $8 per box. There is no other easy way to do this, so get 1 get 4 the shipping rate will be the same. Shipping internationally may present a problem – but we are not certain. Different countries will treat boxes differently. We are suggesting that we ship one box to country or geographical area – or, if you have a US counterpart that can bring your shirts to the ship that would work as well. Obviously, we can’t and won’t say that we will only ship one box to South Wales, or Australia – but that would be the most economical. For shipping fees for non US orders, please send me your postal code. We will plug it into the system and get the actual costs to ship.

I WILL NEED EVERYONES ADDRESSES FOR SHIPPING.

IF YOU ARE IN THE US – PLEASE SEND ME THE FOLLOWING IN AN EMAIL TO wbta.pirate.shirts@gmail.com:
DIS Name
Real Name
Shipping address including your zip for postal service

If you are outside of the US, I need to know if you are willing to receive and either bring to the ship, or re package and send to other people in your area. For instance, if you are in Australia, are you willing to carry all of the AU and NZ shirts to Barcelona, or are you willing to accept and re post shirts to others in your part of the world. In addition, please let me know the above shipping information shown above via email to wbta.pirate.shirts@gmail.com .

IF THIS IS CONFUSING PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP!

PAYMENT:

We are looking to set up and accept PayPal as this is easier than mailing checks. PayPal accounts are free, but there may be a small service charge on each transaction. While PayPal is preferred, checks and money orders will also be accepted. More details to come on this!

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE

For anyone that is interested, I still have spots open!! For those that are new to the group, we had concerns about luggage weight restrictions, so we broke into smaller groups. We are aiming for groups of about 15 cabins – however, the last groups may be smaller or larger depending on last minute signups. ALL ARE WELCOME but we need to have everyone signed up by MAY 28. I am sorry to impose a deadline, however, by this time, the PIF date has passed, and we need to be mindful that people are making gifts.

Once all of the groups are confirmed I will post the final groupings. From here, I would appreciate it if the groups would appoint someone (a group lead) to facilitate cabin assignment changes that take place at time of or after boarding. It is my intention to post the groups before we leave for the airport on the 15th. However, after this date, I am flying blind. Upon boarding, we will post a dry erase board, and put a pad of sticky notes in our FE so you can let me know of cabin changes. I will have the spreadsheet with me and will have a master listing available. If you upgrade or move cabins and your group lead is not onboard, please call our cabin (8548) and leave me a message with your group name (KIWI, PINEAPPLE, etc, your DIS Name, old cabin and new cabin number. If you change cabins after 4pm all aboard, please contact your group lead with the prior information. The group leads will get the message out to the group.

TASTINGS

Deadline of July 10th as we have to get with DCL and get these set up. I suggest the same deadline for the others pulling tastings together. There are a couple of us that will be working with a DCL rep to schedule these. We are aiming for sea days only, avoiding other entertainment series events.

By July 10th I need to have full names and cabin numbers for those that are in the tasting groups. This is not a me thing, this is a DCL thing as they are going to set these up and will be counting on a certain number of people. I will be posting a GOOGLE docs spreadsheet to put this information into. More data to come on this in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get it all our there!
Sue

If it would help I have access to either a PO Box or an address in New York. If others (those in "southern" Ontario and Western New York are in agreement we could have the shirts sent to one of the locations. Then have a pre-cruise meet that we could hand out the shirts at.

Any comments?

Jon

So we had an interesting evening tonight. Around 5:15ish, a thunderstorm started to roll into Allentown, PA. I was at my parent's house at the time and I was just playing around on the computer. Next thing I knew, we had a severe thunderstorm warning...did I mention my parent's are puppy-sitting two dogs and one dog HATES thunderstorms. The storm starts and it's gettng pretty bad...next thing I know, I heard hail...1-3" inch hail. I run to the front of the house and look out the window at our cars parked in the driveway and the hail was bouncing off the cars like mad! :scared1:

So it continues to hail...next thing I know my sister tells us that there is a tornado warning! There is no basement at my parent's house so my sister says that we are going into the bathroom because there are no windows in there. So, my sister gathers our purses, we put the dogs on their leashes and take the computer into the bathroom. We were in there for a good 15 minutes until the storm had passed. Although we didn't have a tornado, a funnel cloud was reported in a town next to Allentown.

We don't get funnel clouds or tornado warnings very often, so when they happen it is scary. When the storm was over, the skies cleared and the sun came out. Thankfully there was no damage done to the cars... but it was an interesting early evening!

Glad everything turned out okay and no significant damage appears to have been done. We had a dog who was thunder phobic, and it is not a lot of fun!

We dressed the monkey with a pair of dn underpants, she want MENTAL, thought the room person had done it, lol, we are such a horrible family.

Our stateroom host dressed our monkeys for us! (We were in the Roy Suite so we got one for each bedroom.)

We had the hail about the same time, but I can say it was not as bad as last year. I took pictures and the hail looked like a sheet of ice on the lawn.
