Being a Florida resident, I think about how miserably cold our northern tier states get in the winter. Then I remind myself that there's another whole country north of them! I don't know how you do it. :confused3

We get pretty varied weather, actually. Toronto is pretty far south as far as Canada goes, and is more southern that some of the northern US states... I think we get less snow that, say, Buffalo, or N. Dakota, or Michigan. We really get four seasons, including a very hot summer. I don't really mind the cold weather, and have fewer insects and viruses because of it. It's just getting out of bed in the middle of winter that is terrible!

OK, I think that we need to take whoever it is off the list... I will edit the roll call and FE. We can add back if need be...

Thoughts?

Honestly, I don't know. He does have a picture on the roll call...so I'm assuming that means he sent you an email to be posted there, right? Is it possible to look back through old and/or deleted emails and see if you can find his real world email address and reach out to him and see what the deal is? What his actual DIS screen-name is, if he's still on the cruise, etc.?

I've gotten confirmation from a couple more people now, too! I'm down to only 4 or 5 folks who need to email me back. I see the light at the end of the tunnel!! (until the PIF date happens and we get an onslaught of last minute additions who are clamoring for lanyards! :lmao:)

I know somebody might think this is a dumb idea, but I know on the TA before a few people did it and it was a great thing. Everybody's luggage is getting heavier and heavier by the day, so I was thinking I could make a list of anybody that is going to bring tylenol, aspirin, pepto, etc. and then we can post it or pass it out somehow so if we are not feeling well, we can see who has that medicine with them and go to their cabin. I know the last cruise I took tylenol, tylenol PM, nyquil, pepto, aspirin, and sore throat medicine and alcohol swabs just in case something happened during sea days or any time really. Sooooo, if anyone is interested, I could make the list and make it happen. I take Tylenol PM every night because of the prescription I take, so I would be happy to have that for anyone that asks. I don't think this is "drug dealing" but on the last cruise some people did that and I thought it was a brillant idea. Helps with all the little bottles and junk and having to buy tylenol onboard for $12.00. Send me a PM or post if you are interested!:grouphug:

Great Idea!

We are "those kind" of people that bring items b/c it might happen!:lmao:
We'll have tylenol, asprin, a small first aid kit, a sewing kit, and many more daily products. Oh and tons of sunblock!
I think someone forgot my middle name is "Over packed" !:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Remeneber... Im the one who brought 12 pairs of shoes on a cruise and wore every pair!!!!:woohoo:

Ann:surfweb:

I bought the packing pro app for my ipod and my meds list is longer then the clothes list, lol.

I will post what I will have a larger amounts of closer to the cruise.

Pj

Great! I will start a list with what people will have, and as it gets closer maybe we can eliminate some tylenols, or aspirins - that way one or two cabins will have everything. I don't mind sharing, I just don't want 15 bottles of - what ifs.... We did that last time and I only used tylenol, but everything else was repacked for the plane ride home. Please add anything to the list:

tylenol PM
tylenol
motrin
pepto
throat lozenges
nyquil
sewing kit
alcohol swabs
Benadryl
claritin

I am old fashioned so I will first make the list on paper and then post it as we get down to about 4 weeks so people doing B2B can get it also - if they need it.

I honestly don't know how we got his picture. I dion't have it in email and I don't delete (work habit...). I will have Glenn look as well - maybe he will have record of where the photo came from.

I am a bit befuddled as well. I am trying to keep the FE groups to a certain size and i am not gettting answers from people... It is a bit discouraging isn't it?

I know it was great to know who had a eye glass kit last cruise. Fingers crossed that will get added to the list.

I guess you haven't visited Toronto in February. One of the worst aspects of my job is being called out of a snuggly, warm bed and out into a freezing, windy cold night, when it is so cold the car whines being started up, and the snow is crispy it is so frigid. Cold enough that wet hair freezes in the 15 steps from the front door to the car. Toronto in February is really, really cold. And damp. And windy.

Can't say I've been there in the winter, but Toronto is a nice place in the summer! I think part of what made the Scottish port town seem so cold was that I only had a lite jacket with me, so not really dressed to be out on a pier in the winter. I think I came home from that trip with 10 or more wool sweaters, and never got a chance to wear most of them since I've lived in NC, TN and VA ever since!

OK - the truth comes out... DH MADE HARVEY UP!!! I could hit him (hard) right now...

Heres how it played out... DH tucks DS into bed and pops in to chat (I am laying in bed watcing Mercy). I ask if got the picture from Harvey and he say No, I did it. I say something about how the person is signed up for lanyards and FE. He chuckles and says I made him up. He is a 6ft invisible rabbit. He then laughs, apologises and leaves the room laughing says he will go and read my post. Probably a good thing as I was ready to hit him...

So, take Harvey the 6ft invisible rabbit of the list. (Truthfully, I should have know - Harvey the Rabbit and Elwood from Blues Brothers... Way to much of a coincidence...)

Yes, you too can pick on DH!!!

I have a "Harvey" his name is Fred, on my Alaska roll call, he was my test subject, lol.

That is pretty funny!!! Time to come clean! That is a pretty good joke - just as long as Erik doesn't get too frustrated!!!:headache:

I think Glenn owes Erik a drink! :rotfl2:

Sorry Erik - I thougth Glenn had taken all his test subjects out...

I will definitely have Tylenol, motrin, first aid kit (easy when you work for the company) and will have both an eye glass kit and a sewing kit.

That sounds plain scary! The coldest it gets here is jeans, long sleeve top, sweater and scarf....in the middle of the night! And we all complain about how cold it is! Sydney and Melbourne gets a little chillier though.

I think this is a great idea. Due to alergies and skin conditions we will have Benadryl (generic tablets), motrin and Claritin redi-tabs.

Come one come all... We buy in bulk as both DH and DD both have classic exzyema head to toe, so if it is anti itch, I have you all covered!

I bring the Oral Contraceptive pill and vitamins. So if anyone wants to avoid getting pregnant, I'm your gal....That means you Eric and Jason! :rotfl:

Why do you have to get up in the middle of the night? Are you on call for work? What do you do?

This really is alot of work! You are awesome! I've said it before, I'll say it again........It's people like you who make my first cruise so much more special! Thank-you! :flower3:

I LOVE IT!!!! :rotfl2:That is so funny, Probably not so funny for Eric right now, but I'm sure he'll look back and have a chuckle. I'm glad he's made up, he was starting to freak me out, being so mysterious! :rotfl:

You know how every one line group has the infamous "big hairy guy"? Well, Harvey was ours... Except he wasn't hairy... Rabbits are more like furry...

Couple of questions -

Eric and Jason, Do you only wear bow ties, or ties aswell, and only Disney designs?

Everyone - When you say eyeglasses kit, do you mean spare screws and screwdriver kind of thing? I am an optical dispenser, I haven't worked for 10 years, but think I could manage replacing screws still.

Do you guys have "Snuggi's" over there? I can just picture us all lined up at the cove cafe with our snuggi's on! Thought about them for FE's, Just can't fit them all in (stupid luggage restriction!).

Ok, That's all for now, Thanks ;)

The picture was of Jimmy Stewart's character, Elwood P. Dowd, and his friend 'Harvey', the 6 foot invisible rabbit.

What better test subject than an invisible rabbit.

Indeed, make it a double. And Jason can have the one I buy for Harvey. :rotfl:

I just got my bathing suit delivered this afternoon, I buy from the same company every year. I was all excited because it is the first piece of clothing I bought for the cruise. Now, I open up the package all excited and inside is a string bikini!!! :scared1: Now, I NEVER wear a string bikini. I was disappointed because I have to send it back, mad because it looked good and I cannot fit into it - well I can fit into it - depending on your definition of "fit" but I guess I am just disappointed and needed somebody to whine too. Sorry!!!

That stinks! You are all excited and the wrong thing is in the box! Whine away!

OK, so I have to admit, I HATE to fly. There was that plane crash in Libya today and it really freaks me out! I nearly had a panic attack just thinking about flying across the ocean...I've done it too - I flew to Australia in 2000. I was scared then and I'm scared now. I'm going to email my friend who is a flight attendant for JetBlue to see if he can calm me down a little bit. Any words of advice from my fellow cruisers? It's too bad there isn't a smile icon breathing into a bag because that is how I feel right now!

Not sure if this makes you feel better or worse, But you've got a better chance of dying 15 mins from your own home, than in an airplane!
