I love that magnet. I may print that up for our door....and it inspires me a bit, too, for how we might make the lanyard name badges look. I haven't officially finished designing them, but I am leaning in the direction of designing something that incorporates something Disney and the flags of all the ports we will visit on the WBTA....so something along the lines of that magnet is a strong contendor! (It's also nice because it's very colorful, which I like and which would coordinate with basically any color lanyard!)

Another option is rather than thinking of fish extender gifts as being for each of the individuals in each room (which is almost like a secret mickey exchange to some degree) to think of doing something for the full cabin. Jason and I generally make a little grab bag of things that a full cabin can share AND that are not necessarily personalized to the people in the cabin so that we can give the same thing to every cabin1 :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (which makes it easier for mass producing AND for delivering them!!)

I love that you guys consider the colour of the lanyard. I can tell we are going to get along just fine! I am quite funny about things matching and being balanced, apparently I'm a bit obsessive.....if you ask my friends :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I am doing something similar for the FE. I am doing a stateroom gift that can be shared with a few things, but also doing something extra for the kids.
I am surprised you guys can fit FE gifts in your luggage with all those lanyards! :goodvibes

Hi everyone.DH and I are on WBTA. Arriving in Barcelona on Sep 15. Looking for suggestions on how to get from airport to Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

To be perfectly honest, I'm a little afraid of how we can fit lanyards AND fish extender gifts, as well....so the truth is that our fish extender gifts will probably be simple and small=====>since in essence the lanyards and all the work and organizing that goes into them is kind of an informal gift to everyone (who gets them) no matter WHAT fish extender fruit group we end up in!! :lmao::thumbsup2

I'm still waiting for my income tax refund check so we can also join the PIF Club... I'm hoping it comes within the next couple of days. The cruise will be paid off regardless if I get the check or not, but it would be easier if I had the check.

Erik(and Jason):

1) congrats on hitting PIF on both cruises (especially this one 'cause we want you on this cruise)!!!!

2) I saw disneytrek post just a couple of days ago (nothing much) but apparently still active fir this cruise.

ok well that is helpful...perhaps I will check off DisneyTrek, too then. And I know a couple people say they remember jewelmicky posting long ago that she wasn't going to be on the cruise anymore yet.

I like that. How would we get it bigger for a door magnet?

And how do I copy it with this Mac? I could copy with my pc, but haven't managed yet with this.:confused3:headache:

Dear Marilyn,:hug:

1. click on a small photo to open it larger, it should open in a new window.

If you have a two button mouse;
1. right click on the photo and "save image as..." you can choose where it goes or "save image to downloads" it will go to your download folder.

If you the older single button mouse;
1. hold the ctrl button, just to the left of the space bar.
2. click on photo
3. "save image as..." or "save image to downloads"

If you are on a newer apple laptop, follow the single button mouse using the touch pad as your mouse, of course.

Did they just not respond? :confused3:confused3 The folks I'm waiting on hearing from are:

KrisannB

Does anyone know their stories?? Is anyone travelling with any of those folks and maybe you confirmed under your DIS name but forgot to mention that their DIS names were correct, too? Is anybody active on any other threads where any of those folks post and can gently nudge them to get in touch with me? (I hesitate to continue sending out PM's for fear of getting the moniker: "WBTA Lanyard Stalker" :lmao::lmao:)

Sorry for my delay - we have been gone - on a little trip :) and have only been home a few days - count me in - I will get into my PM box later tonight and reply - I have read them on my email - and it all sounds great!

Stopped by to say hello. I have been busy getting my FE gifts done. I woke up this morning and thought about the power situation in barcelona. eeks. I use a breathing machine. It uses 110v, what do they use there?:confused3 Will I need a converter?

When I lived in germany we used 220v

Hello! I wanted to check in. We are back from our DisneyWorld/EBTA/Disneyland Paris trip. We had bumps along the road coming home and got home a day late (thank goodness for trip insurance) - that was on Wed. and then I have been sick ever since then - then on Friday the storms/tornado warnings/flooding started. We have spent the past few days battling the water in the basement and then a tree fell on our pool area - destroying the wrought iron fence in 1 place and damaging 2 other pieces. We are now packing up one room in the basement (the office/school room - we homeschool) and moving it into another room so we can take up the carpet and put down new flooring.

Needless to say I have no had time to get on the boards really and my time schedule is still off.

I will try to go back and read through the thread but not sure how long it will take me - all I know for sure is this time last week I was in Paris - and I want to go back!

I am starting to pack for this cruise though - I will pack differently for this cruise than the EBTA.

Oh and yes we did officially book while onboard - we are in a cat 10 GTY.

What a saga!! Glad you are all home safe and sound though the house doesn't sound very safe or sound.

What will you pack differently on WB than EB if I may ask?

It might be easier to ask me questions :) I have not even started on my trip report which is on my list to do.

Here are some packing tips I posted already:

Having just gotten back from the EBTA trip yesterday (and 4 days at DW before and 4 days at Disneyland Paris after) and flying several different airlines and through different airports here is some lessons I learned:

most important item I took was an electronic scale that had both KG and LBS on it - got it from amazon for $20 = was able to help other Diser's out also - good investment!

If you booked your ticket through one airline - but are flying on a "partner" you must go by that partner's luggage rules most of the time - check on it!

in Europe carry-on sizes are different - meaning smaller! and some of the airlines do not allow a personal item - only one item - and we had jackets with us and did not have them on and they made us put them on at the checkpoint (then we had to take them off at the scanners) and also some airlines are very strict on the weight of the items - many say you can only have a carry on that weighs a certain amount and they weigh them when you check in and tag the item so the gate people know it is approved.

For our next trip we are going to have the largest size bag we are allowed on the smallest requirement of the airlines we are flying and have a "personal" bag that we slip in it of things we will want to have at our seat for the flight (games, book, etc.) that we will take out before we put our bag in the overhead.

And also if you are a elite member in an airline but are flying on a partner they will not always recognize the same benifits you have on your airline even if you booked the ticket through them. We are Delta elite members and booked our tickets through delta but had flights on KLM and Airfrance and Delta - and different rules apply.

Now to start packing differenlty for the WBTA! We had too much and over the next 4 months we will be doing test runs this time and walking up and down our driveway with our bags to see if we can manage it all ourselves.

We use packing cubes - love them - and not because I cannot pack but because it keeps us organized - especially since we cross pack - and it helps me with the unpacking. I also took some smaller ones to put little items and papers into that I brought back - it was great!

One more thing - make a detailed list of every last thing you have in your bags - we had 2 bags get lost during this trip on different flights and did not remember everything in them. One was found - still waiting on word on the other one - glad we had insurance as the airline only would pay $250 but the insurance pays $1000.

thanks for these great tips! And, I am very glad you are back safe. So sorry to hear about all the water you folks are having to deal with. Sounded today like it is not over yet. Will keep you all in our prayers.

I have not checked into the weather for the complete trip - but one hing I would do differently is not to take clothes for "just in case"

We will each be taking a extra thin jacket from Lands End that I found that goes down to 20 degrees so it is warm and thin! But besides that nothing else warm so to speak. We will be in Salzburg/Munich/Amsterdam the week before the cruise so we will need the coats.

I found that even if it was chilly outside we still wore shorts inside the ship during the day.

We are also not taking as many formal/semi formal dresses as we did - nobody else really cares if we are in the same outfit 2 different nights - and they are far enough apart that the fun part is the dressing up.

As for the semi formal night we are oing to wear our linen outfits that we have with some extra accessories - the outfits can be dressed up and down so we will also wear them some for casual nights too.

Also this may seem like a weird thing - but we will take less socks with us. We ended up wearing our crocks or sandals most of the time and no need really for many socks!

Thanks - we are in West Tennessee and most of our flooding happened saturday and sunday but Nashville has more rivers than us and therefore things are worse there - things are still bad in where we live for us - just not as bad.

Krisann

Krissann, did you have the weight limit/baggage issues when you were flying home from Europe or on your domestic flights?

Glad you're home safely but I'm sorry to hear about the storm damage.
