Thread has only been open for 7 weeks. :scared1:

In 479 days that is 13751 posts or 28.7 posts a day. That is alot of :surfweb:. This group better get sponsorships from a keyboard company, things are only going to get worse. I see a direct relationship between the thread and work productivity. The closer we get to the cruise less will be accomplished at work:lmao:

LOL there's a direct link between my work and this thread definately!

Only 70 days until I can book shore excursions - which means final payment is coming up quickly!

Also noticed on the DCL site you can now sign up to a special character welcome call while on the boat. I think its either Mickey, Goofy or Ariel. Trying to do it now but it timed out!

Deck four lap crew; lap counter, timer, technical judge, style judge, any other positions required?

Pj

I think the only way I won't be self-conscience running on Deck 4 now is if a refreshment station is manned and handing out something a littler stronger than the usual water!

I've been to the original Hard Rock Cafe in London, it's tiny! :)

Krista

It is tiny!
Congratulations on the move ......you must be so excited
Where in Florida are you heading?

Have been to HRC in Orlando, Acapulco, Key West, Paris, London. In London we got to go down the vault which was really interesting. My favourite is Key West .... sitting outside overlooking Duval St. Will be going to Manchester and Barcelona this year too :yay:

We didn't get a DVD .... only a letter delivered Fedex.

KEY west is my second best only to new york, last cruise we sat up there and shouted to mum and dad for ages before they spotted us. weve been to so many, too many to mention, worst was Dublin,:confused3 it was so quiet, we went in and this other family with crying kids sat right next to us, I mean come on, we were the only ones in there.

Labat Blue! MMMMM! Did I just go into beer memory mode lol

Jon, the stats probably change according to how quiet/busy the emergency vets are in edinburgh:rotfl:

I think the only way I won't be self-conscience running on Deck 4 now is if a refreshment station is manned and handing out something a littler stronger than the usual water!

I set up my own little drink station on deck 4 when running, water, diet coke and tea, I stop every few laps for drinky poos.

70 days wow .....are you silver or gold? It's certainly creeping up on us and once the summer hits and life gets busy time will fly by.:woohoo: I must get a bit more organised as I don't want a last minute panic this time.

Think I am going to pay it next week and get it done, i think we are just due a thousand dollars now ,but I have saved it up on a pre paid dollare credit card.It will seem much closer after that, I was looking at the spa stuff last night at work, still as expensive as the last time!

I was thinking the 19th, which is the first at sea day, should give me a chance to smuggle a surprise "from Minnie" gift into our room. Was wondering if I could take some sweets to the Kids Club for her to share with her friends, Or is that not allowed?

The CM's love getting candy in the lab. It's better than money in some respects because they can share it out right away. Money and other items need to be put in a pot and awarded to the various kids club cast members.

I feel like my work productivity has decreased to about 3 of 5 days a week due to my DISorder... :) Wonder if anyone has looked at other special cruise groups and how this group compares...

Last Weeks question:

What is Mr. Smee's rank onboard Captain Hook's ship, the Jolly Roger?

Answer
Depending on what you watched or read Smee can be referred to as a couple different ranks. The official answer for Disney Insider is Hook’s Bo’sun. I took first mate as an answer as well. Depending on vessel size, location, function, and just plain improper use of terms there are different functions for First Mate and Bo'sun.

So the standings are:
Ann (Bareacuda) 4
Stephanie (Steffy) 2
Sarah (Gismo1554) 3.5
Angie (Mrs Mork) 3
Sarah (Totallyangelic) 7
Thecooksluvdisney 1.5
Sue (Sukraft) 4
Amanda (Acourtwdw2) 1
TheDisneyGirl02 1
Heather (GOS) 3

This weeks question:

Ok, you'll have a 50/50 chance with this one.
In diameter which is bigger Spaceship Earth or the Aquarium area of Living Seas?

PM answers please

Oooooh the Friday Quiz already .... it seems to come around quickly .... which means we are one more week closer to September 18th:woohoo:

With your well informed "chat list" I lost your question from last week!:rotfl:

Ann :yay:

I'm almost done with all of the major ressies for our trip. I booked the Port Orleans French Quarter for our post-WBTA cruise WDW stay. We are staying three nights and we got a great deal because the POFQ is one of the host resorts for the Inaugural Wine and Dine Half-Marathon. It also includes a round of mini-golf. (I wanted to stay at the BCV but they are sold out and the BC is just more money than I want to spend.) I've never stayed at the POFQ so I'm excited about the opportunity to stay there. Now to get my return flight home. I may have to buy an extra seat for all of the stuff I'm going to acquire on my trip. :rotfl::rotfl:

Here's the updated list:

mdwoodman (2) – 17th
birkner (2) - either
KermitRocks (2)
pjpoohbear
Terapin – 17th?
TotallyAngellic (2) – 16th
MrsMork (2) – either (prefer 17th)
nacho1337 – 17th
1DisneyQueen (6) - 17th
Dizneyholic (2)
orlandothebeagle (2, maybe 4) – either
dolphingirl47 (2) – 17th
su_kraft (2+2) – either
epcot1stfave (2) – 17th
coconut1 (2)

As I was trying to catch up (long flights today), I realised that as I was going from one page to the next, sometimes someone would post and that would cause older posts to drop from one page to another. So, without going back through all of them, it's possible that I may have missed someone. No slight intended! Just let me know.

It looks like the 17th is the favorite. Now, we need to narrow it down to a time. I know some people will be on tours during the day, so we probably don't want to start it too early. Plus, most restaurants in Spain don't open for dinner until 8 or 9 pm (I guess that's why tapas are so popular!). Perhaps 4 or 5 (that would be 1600 or 1700 for our international friends:laughing:)

Just throwing it out there, let me know what you think.

We will meet at any time. But I was thinking 5 p.m. (1700) may work for more people because some are arriving that day and want to do a tour. Meeting a little later would give them time to get settled into their rooms, do the tour and join us at the HRC. Thoughts?

You should put all of these on a sheet and give to the Cast Member doing the Crusin' for Trivia and see if they can answer them.

I have enjoyed these even though I have not participated.

Hmmm, will have to look into that.

Now I know why it's impossible to keep up with all that's going on when I only get to check in once a day or so!

I saw a post a few posts back about restaurants in Spain not opening until late, and that's what makes Tapas so popular. That reminded me of a story from our Honeymoon. Everyone had told us to order Tapas, but no one really explained *how* to order Tapas (and this was before the Internet so we couldn't google it to find out.) We learned that if you go into a bar and order a drink, they would bring you a sample of the "Tapas of the day". But they wouldn't offer us any more, or give us the chance to order any. So we would go from bar to bar, ordering a drink, getting one Tapas, and then move on to another bar to get another bite of food since it was late afternoon and we were hungry! Then we'd go pass out in our hotel room for an hour or two from all the alcohol and little food, and that would tide us over until the restaurants opened at 8. Finally on our last night in Spain we learned we could ask for a menu and order tapas off the menu!

We got the Helpful Hints letter from Disney Cruise Line today.
It is always fun to get correspondence from Disney. :yay:

And we got a upgrade message at our DCL computer site today.
We could upgrade to porthole room for just $41.43 per person, per day. :confused3 That's just $1,160.04 total for natural lighting and an ocean view. :woohoo:

We are only on this cruise because of the great rate we got for our inside cabin (Cat 11). As we just nap and sleep in our cabin, the difference of a $1,000 will pay for five days at Walt Disney World after the cruise. And that would be money better spent, for us. :teacher:

That would include us. Warped. :sad2:

Warped is good, warped is funny and entertaining at dinner. If you want to link for dinner, let me know ;)

Same goes for anyone else who might meet our warped criteria. :rotfl2:

You are such a giver Paula!

Eating a friends portion of cake is the least I can do :rotfl:

On the Eastbound Transatlantic repo cruise to Barcelona, this was our original logo:

.
Since then, I was outvoted.

Woody

Oh thats totally brilliant! I would have voted for that :rotfl:

Going to just have a quiet evening with roast turkey and loads of veggies. We get a little short of veggies over in the US!! I need my fix.:lmao:

LOL we have the same problem in the US and we are vegetarian!

Well, we were the same when we heard there were kiwi's coming, but we figure it's a big enough boat. :lmao: Paula, I'll tell you a little secret......I am a kiwi and I tease my husband all the time that he married one!

You evil woman, thats the ultimate revenge - marrying an Australian just so you can torture and torment them on a daily basis. Doesn't the Geneva Convention have rules about that? ;)

On my last business trip to Australia, my wife and I stayed for about two weeks in Brisbane. It's our favorite city in Australia! Beautiful area, warm & friendly people, clean city, great weather. Couldn't ask for much more.

I love Brisbane too, its a beautiful city. :thumbsup2

We will be in the Boardwalk Villas after the cruise. I'm loving the location since its Food & Wine at Epcot!

We are AKL Kidani village in a studio after the cruise.

Hey, I'm warped, but I have a DS. Favorite Python Movie... Meaning of Life

I flip flop back and forth but The Life of Brian is a firm favourite.

I tried to PM you, but not sure it went through. My husband would like to the candy swap. Can you tell me what I need to do?

I sent you back a PM - I added you to the list :-) Let me know if you have more questions.

My husband and I would like to be in the candy swap. How much candy do we need to bring?

I have you on the list. Each person will be in a group of 10-12 so you will need to bring 10-12 mini/snack size candies/chocolates each.

We need to decide on a date and time. The original concept was for Friday the 17th, since many of us won't be arriving in Barcelona until that morning. We need to deconflict with Lynne's (I hope I have that right) soirée. We could go for an afternoon gathering (tapas?) or a late evening get-together, although the jet lag monster may reach out and grab those of us coming across the pond! Alternatively, we could move it to the 16th for those who will be in town.

Add us please - 3 adults, any day is fine with us.

I have been trying to catch up on posts. And noticed a few about candy and players and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Of where these posts are.

Got you :-)

We would also love to link dining reservations we adults. We too have a good sense of humour. We have early seating.

As above if you want to link.

What time are you going onboard?
What are you going to EAT when you get onboard?

As soon as we can and I'm aiming straight for the buffet. I love the desserts and the cookies...

Zan was our Head Server last September. The Eva you mention, was she an assistant server from Croatia or somewhere like that. Lovely girl. If so, she and her hubby have left DCL and have bought some land back home.

Zan was our server back in our 2003 cruise - fabulous guy and has been a head server in our dining room on the last two cruises we've done. He remembers us too but then there aren't many Kiwis on board I guess.

Next question .... What does everyone plan to do in Gibraltar?

I did find a website that talked about a day trip on your own to hit the major highlights so we'll probably do that. Mum's been to Gibraltar before but not for about 40 years.

I'm glad I'm hearing some positive SSR feedback, we are going to stay there for 12 nights after the cruise and was wondering whether we'd made the right choice.

We loved it when we stayed in 2008 - very clean and lovely gardens. The pool was nice too.
