Hi everyone,

Hi Kelly - We are running the Wine & Dine, too. Maybe we can "train" together on the ship. Are you running the entire thing? We haven't decided if we are doing the relay or the full half-marathon.

I would love to have someone to train with on the ship! I figure I'll be alternating between running in circles around Deck 4 and working off the Cake of the Day up in the exercise room.

I'm running the whole thing. I'm a little worried about it being a travel day for us, but at least the race starts late. Imagine how good we will feel celebrating at the finish line party in Epcot!

I'm writing a blog about the experience. There is a link in my signature if you want to follow along.

We are up for DIS table mates at late seating. (As long as you din't mind shy little girls and some times absent 13 year old boys... :)

We're doing late seating too. My kids are little foodies and love trying just about anything. They will be 12 and 14 at the time. The only thing is that we are traveling with my Mom, step-dad, and a friend. So we'd be a party of 6. I'm not sure if that would work out. DCL would link the reservations, but we might just be sat in the same general area rather than at the same table.

Either way, I'd love to get to know some DISers during dinner!

How wrong is this ???

I'm alreaddy thinking about what book i want to pack to read on the cruise

I'd picked this really fat paperback that i'd never ever get the time to read at home, and had visions of myself spending long lazy afternoons on deck sipping a drink and enjoying each word.

Now i realise that i prob be spending more time enjoying the onboard activities than reading, I still plan to take a book.... Just a much thiner one.

Anyone else picked out their reading material yet?

I have bought several e-books for the cruise, Dan Brown's last book (yes, it is on the reader and I have held back.) A History of Alaska and several romance novels (my subway readers, no need to remember as you read along.) lol. :cloud9:

You guys are really gearing up. I am not a reader. Graduate scholl broke me of that. HA HA

When we did the last Repo, I was to busy to even sit on deck 4 and relax. Funny thing is I do not know why. They had a lot of cooking/ food seminars and they were wonderful.

I am planning on doing the adult shows this time. We are not bringing anyone under 21 years old this time.:cool1: I going to sing
"I wanna talk about me
Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you you you you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about meeeeee
I wanna talk about me"

I heard my sister playing this song by Toby Keith and thought this would be my motto for this cruise. LMAO:thumbsup2

Kelly,

I really enjoyed reading your blog! :) You are a very talented writer.

I am wondering if anyone else is leaving their kids at home for this cruise? Our three will be at home with Grandpa and Grandma. It will be so odd not to have them with us and it's already starting to make me feel sad.

Just curious if anyone else is in the same boat (literally)? :confused3

Krista

Thanks! I've added you for the HRC meet and the tequila. I think someone said they were seeing if their daughter could organise a special meet thing at the Barcelona HRC because they work for HRC but can I for the life of me remember who?

That was "mdwoodman" back on page 114 of this thread

SW

Thanks to Mr. Woodman! Sorry I missed the post. I guess I was reading through the posts much too quickly because I missed it. I can help Mr. Woodman although I have no connections to HRC. :lmao: I can still do the tequila tasting.:drinking1

Hello All,

I just got word back from Barcelona tonight. They are offering reduced drink prices to our group. I will need to know how many, so that they can provide "bracelets" for identification. Here's the offer:

3€ beer, wine, soft drinks, water, juices
6€ long drinks (vodka,gin,whisky,rum)

I don't know what the going rate is these days but from my previous travels to Spain these sound reasonable.

Of course, we would need to deconflict with the "drinkie-poos" (do I have that right? Vacations are so tough!:thumbsup2

What say you?

BTW, definitely in for the tequila tasting, wine tasting, beer tasting, martini tasting; did I miss any?:cool1:

We would love tablemates for late seating if anyone is interested ... it would be great to sit with other DIS members. We did it last time and had a fantastic time.:goodvibes:

We are late seating, but we need to wait till we get all our stuff booked, we need others though, us brits cannot all sit together, we need to do our bit for international relations!

Michele and I would be happy to represent the Colonies at the late seating!;)

We'd prefer a "big Disney kids" (adults) table. We love kids but we're leaving ours at home this time.:rolleyes1

Don't worry you are not alone! I am always thinking about what I am hoping to make for FE gifts. I have starting ordering some of the bits I will need. I am also making some "thank you" cards for the cast members at the moment.

Oooh, Thank-you cards for CM's, I'll start on them!

As soon as Stephanie and I signed up for this cruise, we started planning. When we worked together, we would talk Disney every day when at lunch.

Sooooooo, we have been planning for almost two years. :lmao: Unless I get different material, I already have our FE made. We were just talking about making changes on what we will put on our cabin door this time and what we will keep.

I have been stressing about the FE gifts for a year now. I have some of the things already.

How's that?????:rotfl:

Yay, I am not alone! I'm excited about starting my FE's too, Have never done it before, have never cruised before, so it's all new and exciting!

Haven't been planning for that long, but...
Have FE
Have most of the FE gifts that I am buying
Have supplies for waht I am making...
Have magnet paper and Ink
Have daily magnet lists so I can change the door throughout the cruise
Have started a list of what I am packing
Have bought new dresses for DD and started her packing list
Ordered and recieved new luggage... (No clothes in there as yet...)

OMG - I think that this is a DISorder of sorts... :rotfl2:

Daily magnets, wow!
I confess I have bought a few things for DD's too!

WOW ... I'm impressed, how DISorganised are you. :goodvibes

Me too .... and guess what .... it's incurable :rotfl:

Oh No, I have heard it's a lifelong DISorder!

I've been getting excited since i booked the cruise (on the morning they were released) but now the 6 month mark is passsed I'm really excited.

Been thinking about what to make for FE gifts and making little napkin sketches for ages. Been buying craft supplies as i saw them now i'm ready to actually start making!!!

Glad to hear there are lot's of handmade FE's!

Hi everyone,

I'm with you! You are not a freak. I'm very excited too!!!! I am planning to get a new camera so I have been doing some research. I also have a list of needs/wants for the trip. There is so much to do and (thankfully) so little time. :cool1::cool1:

Needs: A faster metabolism so I can eat all that yummy food!
Wants: All that yummy food!

Australians... Just bring yourselves, we love Austrailians :goodvibes, since you can't bring beer with you that is;)

Great, done! We trying to work out how we can get some beer there, although DH is a bourbon drinker, so just for others to taste. Have to check out how much room we have left after I've packed.;)

Question, do the kids make friends in kids clubs? I was wondering whether I should set up an e-mail address for them and make little cards for them to give to new friends? They are 8 and 9, DD's.

Love that VB. Haven't had it since my last trip "down under" three or four years ago. What part of Queensland are you in?

She is home now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILYN!!!
I picked out mine as well. The nice thing is I don't have to pack anything and I get a new one everynight.......a MENU :lmao: My favourite part is the ending (desert)

Jon

I knew I liked you, Jon!!! :thumbsup2

We are, but our kids are 32, 38 and 41 so I guess that does not count. :lmao:

What say you?

Put us down for 2, likely 3 with PJ, for HRC. Do they really charge 3 Euro for water? Seems odd to me. Free glass of water in the bars/clubs here. Of course, I guess a Montana bar is quite different than HRC in Barcelona. :lmao: Probably not a lot of wranglers and cowboy boots there. ;)

My Disney addiction is taking over, I spent the day making stateroom ears and magnets (I don't want to have a naked door), Journals and Activity books for my DD's and a countdown chain. Now I'm narrowing down my FE idea's.
Is anyone else as obsessed as me, or am I a freak?

I'd say thats fairly normal for this group :rotfl:

I'm alreaddy thinking about what book i want to pack to read on the cruise

I have a pile of books for "holiday" reading - I'd never travel without a pile of books - always ones I'm happy to leave behind if I need space.

Australians... Just bring yourselves, we love Austrailians :goodvibes, since you can't bring beer with you that is;)

There are Australian's coming? OMG, that's it, I'm canceling! JK - love aussies really :rotfl2:

I'll be sure to eat more CotD just to save you from it. :rotfl2:

We would love to link dining with some others at early seating - prefer adults with warped sense of humour (monty python fans?).

Kelly,

I really enjoyed reading your blog! :) You are a very talented writer.

Krista

Thank you Krista. I appreciate you taking the time to read it. It was tough for me to start the blog since its so personal, but now I'm finding much strength in the whole process of journaling about it.

You are such a giver Paula!

Since then, I was outvoted.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.:)

Although.... now I think about it, you are on Fl time so its not really till tom, now Ive peaked too early, lol.

We are home now!!!:sad2:

Quiet day today actually. John has to work:eek: so no coffee out or anything, but of course we have just had 6 weeks of coffees and meals out plus lots of fun. so, having my hair done this morning. It is almost 7 weeks since it was done, and the dark and grey roots are showing and the hair refusing to do what I want!!!!! Going to just have a quiet evening with roast turkey and loads of veggies. We get a little short of veggies over in the US!! I need my fix.:lmao:

Love that VB. Haven't had it since my last trip "down under" three or four years ago. What part of Queensland are you in?
We live on the Gold Coast, about 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise, or less than an hour from Brisbane. We love it here, great place to live!
My husbands working on the Beer! We have a Qantas flight to London where we have heaps of luggage allowance, it's the BA flight from London to Barcelona that seems to be the killer! We're working at linking our flights so we are on a Qantas International Itinerary. Cross your fingers!

There are Australian's coming? OMG, that's it, I'm canceling! JK - love aussies really :rotfl2:

Well, we were the same when we heard there were kiwi's coming, but we figure it's a big enough boat. :lmao: Paula, I'll tell you a little secret......I am a kiwi and I tease my husband all the time that he married one!
