We are going to be using Disney's transport ... not much point to hire a car for just one day when we will be staying on Disney property the whole time.

A bit better overall but still up and down and very tired.

Thank you Marilyn ... not that we do much to celebrate it round here!

I think the rate at which I booked ( ages ago) was 90 euros for the 16th and 1oo euros for the 17th which is cheaper so it's better for me to stick to my original price. :confused3:confused3

Glad dans a bit better.

We didn't do much. Had a concert from our work choir at lunch time that about 2 people attended and we had a special menu at work but thats it really

Quick question - What is St. David's Day? I have never heard of that holiday before - probably because I'm from the US! LOL:lmao:

St David is the patron saint of Wales. Its a bit like Presidents day type thing but you don't really do much. Each country in the UK has its day - you've probably heard of St Patricks day as most people have lol! Ours traditionally you sing songs and wear daffodills / leeks! Very odd tradition. Oh and eat Cowl which is like a lamb stew

Thanks for trying! We are hoping to arrive in on Friday night, but it might be Saturday morning. I know many of you did the Trans before....so if we fly in Sat morning, what is the best way to get to the port????

Take Disney transport! Last time they did a tour of Barcelona on the way to the boat so if they do the same it would mean at least you see a bit of Barcelona

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. In order to get the group rate at Praktik Rambla we'd need to book everybody all together under one credit card, and prepay. I told them thanks but no thanks. Sorry, I tried! :confused3

Thanks for trying April

I think they do more in schools ... in our schools they have concerts and eisteddfods and some of the kids wear traditional welsh costume.

I will have eaten leeks for lunch and dinner today but that is just a coincidence.

The Irish definitely make a lot more of St Patrick's than we so of St. David's !!

Oh yes, that would be a bubbler!

I've looked at ebay, Hmmmmm,Not much original and still little girly (I'm not ready for them to grow up yet too much yet, Hannah Montana clothes is far enough!!!), I think I'll make my own!

Question for those of you going on to WDW after the cruise, are you doing the Disney ground transport? Or any other idea's?

Ok, that's 3 times today I've been back here :surfweb:, Bye for now.

I think we will just take Disney transport to BCV. It is just so easy. We have added it on while onboard before. They just put a sticky dot on our key to the world cards when we paid.

Yeah I think schools round here definately do more. Some people in work wore red tops thats about it!

Sounds like fun! Thanks for the information! :)

I'm sitting at Barnes & Noble right now waiting for Dave to finish work. We are a one car couple right now since his truck is in the shop for inspection. I spent the morning between McDonald's (with a large coffee) and Panera Bread (with another large coffee). I've switched to drinking water now...I don't think I could handle more coffee! LOL!

No, it seems only the Irish celebrate their patron saint in a big way. We are even worse in England with St George's Day - it usually passes almost unnoticed!!:lmao: We actually have a Yorkshire Day sometime during the year too and I have no idea when it is!!! A few folk wear white roses and the local TV does Yorkshire Day related items. So funny!!!

Been to Seaworld this morning. Walked on to Manta and Kraken and wandered around the beautiful surroundings in warm sunshine!!!!!:cool1::cool1: So nice to feel some heat on my skin. Tomorrow though it will be rainy again, then another cold front comes through for a few days.:sad2: Forecast is warm for the weekend though.:yay:

Thanks anyways! It's always good to check.

Hi All,
Just checking in as it's been a long time since I've been on the boards. Took me a long time to catch up...

:welcome: Welcome aboard to our recent additions!

Alright folks.....March is upon us and, based on my past experiences organizing lanyards for fall cruises, I know that I need to place the order for lanyards and badge-holders probably by the end of April (or the first part of May at the very latest)...so that I have time to make sure they arrive here, I can design and print the name badges and Jason and I can cut them out, insert them in name badges, etc.
Any questions, feel free to PM me or send me a note/question at the wbtalanyards@yahoo.com email address!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks for organizing the lanyards!!!!

Hoping to see some of you at Disneyland March 13th for the Pirates DIS meet , havent heard much from anyone , plus hard for me to keep up with the boards as of late ....so if your coming please email me at cbrniner@me.com ....I will be at Disneyland from the 11th to the 14th .... pirate:

How about the DIS meet on the 13th? Anything happening with that one yet? We'll be back in town and would love to meet anyone going!Michael

We will be at the Disneyland meet on the 13th. Do we know where we are meeting for dinner yet? We are looking forward to meeting our fellow cruisers! Hope to see you all there!!! :earsboy:

I could easily spend all day in Panera bread! Wish we had that over here! Definately miss it from when I lived in Florida!

I would go with DCL transfers.

We're flying in Saturday morning. It makes me :scared1: but that's how we have to do it this trip. Our flight arrives at 7:00 am and we're taking DCL transfers.

One year for our DVC cruise, someone orgainzed a bus from WDW to PC and back again. It was less expensive than DCL transport. That may be an idea...

Oh my goodness!! 60 degrees here today!:cool2: :cool1: I was out grocery shopping early afternoon with a windbreaker on and had to take it off as it was so warm! So much for harsh Montana winters! :upsidedow The dog has spent much of the last 2 days out in the sunshine in the yard moving the pruned limbs around.

THanks for the tips. What is the cost of the DCL transfers???

$65/pp for both Barcelona and Port Canaveral. Back in PC, if you fly with a participating airline and use DCL transfers after putting your luggage out in the hall the night before disembarkation you won't have to see your checked luggage again until after you arrive home. We've done this a few times and it's worked great!

Were using my parents hire car lol! Disney transport seemed reasonable when I looked though

Yep, I think it's only $130 for all of us.

We are going to be using Disney's transport ... not much point to hire a car for just one day when we will be staying on Disney property the whole time.

True, But we spent 26 night at WDW in Sept 2008, and we loved having a car to go shopping and explore a little. I'm considering hiring a car for the weekends. :confused3

I think we will just take Disney transport to BCV. It is just so easy. We have added it on while onboard before. They just put a sticky dot on our key to the world cards when we paid.

Is there alot of waiting around for luggage to be packed and the bus to leave?

I have done the DCL bus to WDW several times, we have waited as little as 5 minutes and as many as 30 minutes before leaving the DCL terminal. Luggage is pulled from the lower level of the terminal with you as you go through customs and is loaded within minutes of getting to/on the bus you are assigned to. We have recently always use the services of a porter and we skim right through customs.
