I have to interrupt:

YAY CANADA! That was a fantastic hockey game (I *never* watch sports, either!). What a game!

Back to our normal thread, now.

Congrats to Canada! That was a great game.

We had a big day today, our DD9 was in a synchronized swimming competition and took 6th place in figures! Her team took first place in routines, so it was a really fun day for her.

Our DS7 finished his hockey season today.

We will now have quite a bit of free time! I hope to be much more involved in this thread and planning from now on.

Hope everyone is well. :)

Wow it has been a chatty weekend! Glenn is still fighting with the web people. Actually, he is done fighting, he is now moving to another site altogether. Lots to do to get the site up and running, but hopefully soon! Needless to say, I have not forgotten about the FE groups. As soon as things are up and running again and everyone can get signed up I will get the first groups out.

Are we still doing a scrapbook swap of sorts? I hope so, because then I might be able to get a start on the 2010 book... I am trying to finish 2008 and 2009 now... Thought I woiuld have time this week, but the kids have decided otherwise... Not that I can blame my daughter for turning 6, but her birthday is getting in the way! :) :rotfl: Them Stephen broke his foot, and is in a splint and crutches. Just when things settled down a bit the rug got yanked... So, for him, no baseball or gym class or anything until released by the ortho doc. Think I can forget to get a release and hit Disney up for a handicap room? The extra space would be nice...:rotfl2: Of course, knowing my son, he would manage something else to really warrant it... That I can live without!

OK, to catch up...
Woody - fabulous photo - I would love to see more!
Krista - congrats to your daughter.
Lynn - your note about doing chores before DIS had me cracking up! Thanks, I needed that!

Looks like we have grown a few cruisers as well! :woohoo: WELCOME!!!

I am sure that much more has been going on, but I can't keep up!

Oh - question for those with kids... Is anyone posting on the kids board? Stephen was wondering if he could "meet" people on this board too...

Have a great week all!

Sue

Busy weekend with family. Here is two pics of GS Spencer from his baseball game.

Word that are different with countries seem to all be clothes and food! We have thongs here, NZ have jandals, and I think you have flip-flops?
We call Sprite lemonade, we couldn't understand why we kept getting lemon squash or cordial when we ordered lemonade.
We have tomato sauce, not ketchup!

OK, my bed time now, how sad I am going to bed at 8:30, Just tired today, Nighty Night.

I had to laugh when I saw your list of words that differ from the US. In 2000 my dance company performed at the Olympics in Sydney. After flying for about 20 hours, we finally landed in Sydney. My twin was very thirsty so she asked somebody where the water fountain was. The person looked at her with a puzzled look so instead she said drinking fountain. After a second puzzled look, my sister did her best sign language and said a water fountain - pushing her finger down on the pretend buttom and then taking her other finger and tracing what would be the water coming out of the fountain. The person said something like "The bubblie!" and pointed her in the right direction. It's so interesting that we all speak English, but it differs so greatly from country to country.

I think I'm becoming addicted, I got up half an hour early to check what's going on in DisWorld, your such a chatty bunch I have to check twice a day to stay up to date!

OH, I get the FE thing now, Thanks
I suppose I could guesstimate for the FE gifts, Good idea.
I think the UK and Aussies are pretty much the same, except for our Aussie slang, At least I know what everyone is talking about when I'm in the UK, and always get what I wanted when I order something.

My husband didn't know that the enter/return key took you to the beginning of a new line! I caught him writing an e-mail (like a big boy!) furiously pressing the space bar to get to a new line! He is completely computer illiterate! :rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

Anyone know a good place to buy girls pirate: costumes online? It's on my 'to do' list. How dressed up do the adults go? Our luggage is so limited, trying to streamline as much as possible, Otherwise I'll have NO room for shopping, and that would be VERY VERY BAD!!!:laughing::laughing:

On this cruise? Very! We found this last time.

I think cruisedirectorkaren was on about organising a scrapbooking class but haven't seen her around for awhile

Good Morning and Happy March everyone! Today is another step closer to Spring and warmer weather :woohoo::woohoo:

Happy St. David's Day to Sarah and Dan and any other Welsh cruisers :goodvibes:goodvibes

That would put everyone to sleep!

Woody

Not at all :goodvibes

You could try Ebay .... you can get some good deals on there for pirate costumes for kids .... or try searching for an on-line fancy dress store.
We will probably dress up for Pirate night but will be looking for lightweight options. If we are wearing boots they will have to be in our hand luggage for the flight to Barcelona. We are lucky in that we have a bigger weight allowance for our flights home ... more room for shopping along the way :goodvibes

Hi Sue ... sorry to hear about your son's broken foot  Wishing him well for a good recovery. Happy Birthday to your daughter :cheer2:

Good luck with your scrapbook ... I still haven't started my 2008 cruise. I know once I start I will be fine but it is getting started that is the difficult bit, especially as I am bit of a beginner and this is my first attempt at doing one. Does anyone know what exactly you swap on a scrapbook swap? Is it just materials or completed pages or what ?

Oh yes, that would be a bubbler!

I've looked at ebay, Hmmmmm,Not much original and still little girly (I'm not ready for them to grow up yet too much yet, Hannah Montana clothes is far enough!!!), I think I'll make my own!

Question for those of you going on to WDW after the cruise, are you doing the Disney ground transport? Or any other idea's?

Ok, that's 3 times today I've been back here :surfweb:, Bye for now.

Were using my parents hire car lol! Disney transport seemed reasonable when I looked though

Good news! I heard back from the Praktik Rambla and they are able to offer a rate of 129.60 pounds per double. I'm waiting now to hear how to book it, and I'll let everyone know.

We are going to be using Disney's transport ... not much point to hire a car for just one day when we will be staying on Disney property the whole time.

Happy St David's Day to you too Sarah and Tony! Hows your Dan? Any better?

A bit better overall but still up and down and very tired.

Happy St. David's Day to our Welsh friends.
Thank you Marilyn ... not that we do much to celebrate it round here!

I think the rate at which I booked ( ages ago) was 90 euros for the 16th and 1oo euros for the 17th which is cheaper so it's better for me to stick to my original price. :confused3:confused3 Thanks for trying though.

Is this really pounds, euros, dollars or what?

Quick question - What is St. David's Day? I have never heard of that holiday before - probably because I'm from the US! LOL:lmao:

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. In order to get the group rate at Praktik Rambla we'd need to book everybody all together under one credit card, and prepay. I told them thanks but no thanks. Sorry, I tried! :confused3

Thanks for trying! We are hoping to arrive in on Friday night, but it might be Saturday morning. I know many of you did the Trans before....so if we fly in Sat morning, what is the best way to get to the port????
