Good morning .... well after 3 days in work I am positively shattered this morning, but have a lovely 7 days off ahead of me which is keeping me going .... oh and the fact that today ......

WE HAVE ONLY 28 WEEKS TO GO UNTIL WE BOARD THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!!!

Well Im sat getting bored in work today as for the first time in ages I have nothing to do lol! Going to see Alice in Wonderland tonight so very excited.

We are going to see it this evening in 3D ..... we are really excited as all we love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.

Well, took both boys to the doctor yesterday. They both have strep throat. Liam also has a double ear infection and a sinus infection. Does not make for a happy 3yr old! And today, I decided to go to the doctor to find out what was up with me, thought it was just a cold...nope, I have bronchitis....ugh!!!! Well, we are all on antibiotics and it should be gone soon!

Sorry to hear that you and both your boys are sick hope you all feel better soon.

I discovered that our littlest has chicken pox!

He's doing really well. Just a little itchy. Lots of spots, though. I am glad he got it young though as it seems to be worse the older a kid you are. And adults seem to get it in quite a serious form. So we can check off another childhood illness!

Hi all, Well, we just got home from Alice in Wonderland. I took my daughter and 27 other kids, yes i said 27, for her birthday today. They were all 7-9 years old and most loved it. There were a few dark bits, as to be expected with Tim Burton, but not really scary. I personally liked it, the red queen was quite funny!

Just getting back to the group. I was in Ottawa from Monday till Friday for training. Did some diving in Quebec, I'll drop a couple pictures on later. Just getting on the board now to check in. We were staying in downtown Ottawa less then three blocks from the Parliment buildings but didn't have any internet access

This has been a busy group over the past few days. I'll have to catch up in blocks. So, fasten you seatbelts, safety harness, waist belts, or whatever you call the things in the cars that keep you in your seat cuz here comes the replies.

We booked our airfare and hotel today. Annette decided if we continue to wait it will only get higher in price. We booked round trip for 1500 for both of us with priceline. The only bad part is we fly from flint to cleveland to newark then a direct flight from newark to bcn. We also got a 4 star hotel for $100 per night. When i went to the hotel website the lowest i could was 279euros per night so we got a great deal. Does anyone know anything about Avenida Palace it is on the Rambla and next to the train station.

All we have left to do is get airfare from orlando to home. We will wait for this because spirit will have a sale for $9 sometime in july or august.

Had to check in and let everyone know we finally have a place to stay in Barcelona! I'm so excited. We found a lovely flat (although 5th floor walkup) across from the Sangrada Familia (not sure if that is spelled correctly). My favorite part is that they'll pick us up at the airport AND take us to the cruise ship (extra charge, but it sure beats trying to figure it all out after flying all night). We had to go the apartment route b/c we're travelling with FOUR people. Much more reasonably priced. One of local English friends claims this it is the European way to spend a holiday . . .LOL

I'm beginning to feel the same way. Prices are skyrocketing and they were high to start with. Every once in awhile I'll see a flight for $399, but when you add all the extra taxes into the price it comes out the same as the rest. Gads!!! DH did not budget for $1000/person to fly. Guess I just have to make more money this summer . . .

Has anyone else found any less expensive flights?

I am curious if I should book now or wait to book the alaska cruise during the TA cruise - would I get a better deal or is it just better to book sooner rather than later?

I would think so. We had them on our panama cruise.

We are booked on July 26 Alaska cruise. We will check while onboard to see if we can save some money by rebooking. Best of both worlds.

It is a Pirate night event. They are launched from the ship.

I didn't know that there is a 5k family Halloween race on October 2nd, we could have stayed in FL an extra day for it. Oh well.

Unfortunately the 5K Halloween Race is already at 7:00 AM on the morning we arrive at Port Canaveral. I don’t think that the ship will even be cleared by then. I have often heard that disembarkation is often delayed if the ship is not on a closed loop cruise. This is such a shame. I really wanted to do this. I am a big kid and for the first time in my life, I am probably fit enough to do a 5K. DH is hoping to do the half marathon that day, which does not start until 10:00 PM so he should be fine.

The first people on my Med cruise are getting room assignments so I am waiting with baited breathe. I can’t wait to get mine. We have a category 12 GTY booked and I am quietly hoping for a category 11 ideally on deck 6. I can hope, right?

I have never made magnets before as I was worried about using magnetic paper and I find that the magnetic tape that you can get does not stick all that well. On the cruise meet thread for my Med cruise, people were talking about a really neat cold laminating system that laminates the front and adds a magnet to the back. I just found out that I can get this in the UK as well. So I intend to buy one and start making magnets.

On the cruise meet thread for my Med cruise, people were talking about a really neat cold laminating system that laminates the front and adds a magnet to the back. I just found out that I can get this in the UK as well. So I intend to buy one and start making magnets.

The magnetic laminator sounds good .... last time I used the sticky magnetic tape and every time we came back to the cabin or opened our door to come out there was a little pile of magnets on the carpet outside the door. The magnetic sticky tape was rubbish. We will have to find a better option for the next cruise!

We have just returned from seeing Alice in Wonderland in 3 D and it was amazing ..... absolutely fantastic! Visually stunning and the 3 D effects were incredible. The characters were all superb, and although there were a few dark moments it was all exactly how I would have imagined it. Tim Burton is a genius. We all loved it and can not recommend it enough! GO SEE IT !!!!

We also plan to do the half marathon but we are not sure if we are going to do the relay or the full marathon. I, too, would like to do the 5k instead of the half-marathon because I worry that the two-week eating extravaganza before the run may affect my training. But you are right- there is no way we would make it by 7 a.m.

I say book now and then rebook on the ship. I did the same thing with this WBTA cruise. I had it booked when I sailed in late 2008 and I got an amazing discount AND an upgraded room for rebooking it on the ship.

Mike and I would like to come. Because of a couple of other places we need to be the same day, we need to know what time and where?

Hi Linda, Todd made reservations at Naples in Downtown Disney for 5:00 p.m. He has a table of 8 but his table is full so I made a separate reservation and we will try to be seated near each other. My reservation is for four people and there are only two of us so if you and/or anyone else wants to go I can add you to the reservation and/or adjust the reservation so we can all sit together. If you or anyone else wants to go just send me a PM and I will call Disney ASAP and adjust the ressie. I hope you can make it. We are looking forward to meeting our fellow cruisers before we set sail.

Amanda- we are worried about the same thing...we are watching the fares and they keep going up! Since we need 4 tickets and arent sure where we are flying from, it is hard to jump on them now....I am hoping we dont get stuck paying too much! When are you flying into BCN????


Boys are doing a little better. DH and I spent the day at the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show. It was wonderful! A whole afternoon of fur babies!! THose of you dog lovers will understand my joy! We learned alot about many different breeds and feel confident we found our next dog- a soft coated Wheaten Terrier! We will most likely wait till AFTER we move again and AFTER the cruise, but it was so fun to see them and play with all of them! A nice day!

Well, that makes me feel better knowing we couldn't have done the 5k even if we had stayed in Florida an additional day.
